It's easy to tell oneself that things happen for a reason — that the heartbreak was meant to forge me into something greater, that the failing grades were meant to improve my mastery, that the setbacks were for things bigger than what I can see, and that the delays were meant to protect me.
What's not easy is to make myself believe that it was actually all for the best and even harder, to stop my own heart from breaking over something that is completely out of my grasp.
I have already lived through several heart-shattering moments, yet every time it happens, it still feels like the kind of pain I have never met before — devastating, colossal, and never-ending.
