HELL FOUGHT.

Just a lil update - I had surgery 3 weeks ago and I’ve been p much totally out of it since then. I had some complications & I’m still not recovered, but we’re getting there! I’m sorry to everyone whose messages I’ve missed - I upgraded my phone a little over a month ago and I didn’t realize my new phone hadn’t automatically logged into tumblr/discord. I missed a lot, apparently 😅

the      last      few      days      are      nothing      more      than      a      blur.      

even      during      those      rare      moments      she’s      awake,      claudia      doesn’t      feel      like      she’s      in      control.      it’s      almost      as      if      someone      else      has      taken      possession      of      her      body      while      she      remains      curled      up      in      a      dark      corner,      too      weak      and      worn-down      to      control      her      thoughts,      emotions,      words,      and      actions.      she      watches      as      her      body      lashes      out      at      noah      and      stiles,      and      yet      she      does      nothing.      

so,      when      she      has      these      rare      moments      ---      quiet,      soft      moments      in      which      her      mind      is      completely      her      own      ---      claudia      lets      the      entire      world      slip      away.      she      curls      up      in      her      husband’s      lap,      her      head      pressed      against      his      chest      &      eyes      fluttered      closed,      listening      to      the      even      sound      of      his      beating      heart.      for      years,      the      sound      has      been      her      favorite      in      the      world.      

now,      it’s      the      only      sound      that      makes      her      feel      calm.

            light     illuminates     transparent     window     ,     umber     optics     altering     from     drowsy     to     anxious     once     approaching.    fatigue     settles     ,     perspiration     beading     along     his     forehead     once     his     gaze     lifts     again     to     the     now     open     window.          ❛           allison     ,     i          ━           i          ━━           ❜           vocals     are     hoarse          &          faltering.             concerned     inquires     are     shot     in     his     direction     as     the     female     assists     him     through     the     window.          ❛           he     wasn't     there.     it     wasn't     him.           ❜          not     a     total     lie.     chris     argent     wasn't     present     for     the     attack     ,     but     scott     is     certain     that     he     orchestrated     the     attack     from     his     ivory     tower.     still     ,     he     wants     to     leave     allison     with     some     inkling     of     hope          &          respect     for     the     man          ━━           it's     still     her     father     after     all.          ❛           but     it’s          ━━           ❜           he     swallows     thickly     ,          ❛           it's     not     healing.           ❜                        scott     emerges     into     her     bedroom     with     a     stumble     ,     fingers     clutching     her     forearms     as     a     crutch     as     she     assists     him     toward     the     edge     of     her     bed.          ❛           it's     ,           ❜           the    alluring     features     of     the     brunette     before     him     begin     to     blur     ,     memories     muddled     :     he     was     on     his     way     home     from     the     vet     clinic     ,     he     was     attacked     ,     the     wolf     took     over          ━━           he     attempted     to     dodge     flying     bullets     ,     but          ━━                    ❛           the     bullet          ━━           you     have     to     get     it     out.           ❜          

SHE      DOESN’T      BELIEVE      HIM.      of      course      her      father      wasn’t      there;      he      was      too      busy      sitting      at      the      head      of      the      dinner      table,      practically      giddy      with      excitement.      doesn’t      change      the      fact      chris      argent      has      an      entire      army      of      men      willing      &      eager      to      jump      at      the      opportunity      to      rid      beacon      hills      of      every      supernatural      creature      ---      starting      with      scott      mccall.      

❛      i      was      afraid      you      were      going      to      say      that,      ❜      she      murmurs,      drawing      a      shaky      breath.      basic      first      aid      was      one      thing;      performing      emergency      surgery      on      a      werewolf’s      gunshot      wound      was      another.      pushing      her      hair      back      from      her      forehead,      allison      stands      from      her      crouched      position      and      turns      away.      ❛      okay.      okay      ---      scott?      i      need      you      to      stay      awake      while      i      go      get      tweezers      and      bandages,      okay?      stay      awake      and      ---      and      take      your      shirt      off.      can      you      do      that      for      me?      ❜

marrying alice would probably be one of the most important things he could ever do — aside from becoming an auror. he would have no greater pleasure than spending the rest of his life with her. “ — alice , “ he murmured , a broad grin overtaking his features as her hands delicately cup his cheeks. there was no doubt he knew what he wanted either , but still he didn’t want to overly rush it , either. “ i would love t’marry you , darling . “ his hands tugged her frame closer to his , squeezing her gently. “ — I love you so much , alice. “

IT HAD ALMOST BEEN WORTH THE WAIT. almost. weeks ( an eternity ) of being forced to wait had simply made this moment all the better. and now, they could spend the rest of their lives in each other’s arms. noah is going to do absolutely anything to make claudia happy. from this moment until forever. but for now ——–

right now, noah is tempted to do all sorts of somethings that would compromise his job with claudia.  ( getting fired would just lead to more time with her ! )  but alas, remaining in the dirty alley is not in the stars tonight. so noah links his fingers with claudia’s, flashes a grin, and all but drags her down the street. “c’mon, baby.” halfway home and noah stops short, tugs claudia into his arms, and practically smashes his lips against her own. “sorry,” he breathes against her lips. “couldn’t wait.” 

and then they’re off again – running toward his apartment building hand-in-hand, and noah lets out a delighted laugh. yards away and then they’re inside and walking down the hall and noah is unlocking his door and scooping claudia up into his arms. 

there’s      something      exhilerating      about      finally      giving      in.      after      months      of      putting      up      with      teddy’s      complete      lack      of      personality,      months      of      sitting      in      that      diner      booth      opposite      perhaps      the      most      boring      human      being      on      the      planet,      finally      running      up      the      stairs      with      her      hand      in      noah’s      .      .      .      her      heart      nearly      leaps      out      of      her      chest      from      anticipation      alone.      

with      a      shriek      of      laughter,      claudia      slips      her      arms      around      noah’s      neck.      in      the      morning,      she’ll      spend      time      roaming      his      apartment      ---      looking      at      all      the      pieces      that      make      up      him,      inspecting      every      piece      of      decor      &      picture      hanging      on      his      wall.      right      now,      she      has      far      better      things      to      do.
