Honestly, the white streaks on Percy and Annabeths hair were a really good detail to show what they survived, and them losing it makes me really sad. I love how we, as a fandom, ignore that and still draw/write them with the white streaks.

i like the belief "nico di angelo is italian, of course he's a coffee connisseur" (is that how you spell it?) because like.. nico, during his time in italy, would have never actually grown up with coffee.
i know i probably sound like a broken record because i love this niche historical fact but like. this was 1900s europe--wars, political instability, social instability, economic instability--you get my point. nobody could afford anything, much less COFFEE, a resource grown only in tropical regions--africa, south america, southeast asia--certainly not cold-and-dry europe. meaning, it must ALWAYS be imported. during times of instability (see; present-day america) expenses on imported goods SKYROCKET.
my point being: nobody could afford coffee.
what do the italians do? they create a new, coffee-ESQUE drink, caffè d'orzo. it is made from barley--grain, which is grown very well in europe--completely decaf, and most importantly, completely affordable. it was everywhere--even popular with children, seeing as its not caffeinated.
THIS is what nico would have grown up drinking.
this also opens up many avenues for fun headcanons-- what happens when nico, used to drinking "coffee," comes to the present-day States and finally has real coffee? can you even imagine his first caffeine high?
