     “ME?” he questions, hand clutching his chest like he’s been wounded. maybe he has underestimated her, but it’s obvious that eddie doesn’t know as much as he thinks he does about chrissy. he nods, scooting closer to her. “how do you ... ” eddie trails off, and there’s some slight hesitancy in his voice. “how do you wanna do this?” gaze flicks down to chrissy’s mouth before it quickly settles on her eyes again. just get it together, he tells himself.

     and now the older sinclair is laughing at him. there’s a roll of his eyes, but right now, eddie’s just pretending to really care. he’s still focused on the fact that he knows ‘ a thing or two. ’ whatever that means. “you’re telling me you have time for d & d despite doing laundry?” eddie asks, pointing to the basket that someone from the other school is shooting into. “could you tell little sinclair that? can’t believe i cancelled tonight for this.”

     the show’s over, and for once he’s never wanted to shower more. he’s tied his hair up into a messy knot on the top of his head, trying to look presentable for chrissy. of course when she walked into the absolute dive bar that they played in, his eyes instantly went to her in the crowd. it’s almost that time where management comes to kick them out of the backstage area, and it’s when eddie looks at his reflection one last time that he realizes just how bad he has it for chrissy cunningham. eddie clears his throat, shaking his head at himself. how embarrassing it is. but he’s able to mask it well when he leaves, searching the bar for a familiar strawberry blonde hanging out by the bar. “so,” he begins, stepping right next to her, a smile wide across his features. at least she actually showed up. “what’d you think of it, princess?”

     there’s a pointed look directed towards steve. after the whole upside down disaster, he hadn’t expected to befriend steve the hair harrington. yet here he is, hanging out with him in the video store. “you would be lost the entire time,” eddie says exasperated, throwing up his hands for the last time. “do you know how LONG we’ve been building up to this finale? we can’t just explain everything to you in one night!”
