Neon Detox: 11/10

yes, she started out strong, very slick, very lesbian superhero, love that. chic high class dyke haircut, lovely.

Hot Mother: 10/10

Absolutely fucking hot with the fucking short haircut and the purple eyeshadow that's probably matching her tanga. she has a mommy kink and wants you to know it. legend.

Black Widow: 9/10

killed her rich husband to get the money and spoil her new younger girlfriend. wait isn't that the plot of Malamente?

Chantalle: 4/10

not very lesbian, nails too long. one of those straight girls that make out with other girls just for show. still kinda hot. strong arms.

God: 98/10

Fuck. She's the one. The lesbian. The only thing bigger than her earrings is her strap, which is ENORMOUS.

Dance Teacher: 8/10

Teaches Ballet and keeps you after class to show you how to plie better or some shit, you aren't even listening because she's always wearing black leggings. Love the fringe.

Wow: 50/10

she's just... it. she sits on her girlfriend's face, pulls on her hair and calls her names till she cries and they both love every second of it. The Evil Dream Femme Girlfriend.

The Legend: ∞/10

Potentially, anon! Honestly, I find it pretty hard to tell how S3 is likely to begin at this stage given how quickly and awkwardly the show wrapped up basically all the major character arcs in 2.13.

I will say that it’s interesting to me how many asks I get about Beth needing to be taken down a peg or knocked off her high horse though. It seems to be a pretty popular opinion at the moment which I find a little bit disheartening, to be honest. 

I absolutely think that Beth needs a reality check for sure, but I don’t really like the thought that she needs to be taken down. I think Beth has been knocked down a lot in her life, and absolutely she has taken the degree of control that she currently has and run a little wild with it, but I think that that’s part of what makes her an interesting character to watch.

On top of that, she was knocked down in S2 far, far more than she was successful / built up - from Dean being shot because of her and her basically having to nursemaid him back to health, to discovering the extent of his cheating, to Rio belittling her and telling her she was nothing twice, to her conflicts with both Ruby and Annie, to Dean taking the kids and manipulating her into giving up the crime life, to the mum’s at the school undermining all her work. With only a couple of exceptions (the dealership and her partnership with Rio), she spent the bulk of the season scrambling around in the dirt trying to simply get up. 

And Beth absolutely is an avoider, but I don’t think she really uses people to do her dirty work that often? I’ve always interpreted the secret shopper plan to be due to how quickly they’d expanded, not out of a desire to not do the work. I think you could argue absolutely that she tries to get Rio to do things for her, but she also does step up (and fuck up usually) when she doesn’t like the way he would do those things - 2.08 with the baby hitmen being the biggest example. 

I love confident Beth and every time she grows more ballsy, I ascend. I hope season 3 does give us super confident, in-charge Beth, despite whatever mistakes she’s bound to make along the way. I didn’t come to this show to see women get knocked around and punished for behaviour most characters in the show are guilty of exhibiting. She is not the villain.
