@fantastictrashpolice requested I make some HCs about Sentinel from Star Wars: Hunters! I have not read any of the books, but I do play the game and I've seen the wiki... I'll try my best ππ
General Sentinel HCs + after hours
- As we are aware, during matches Sen presents himself as this very patriotic, confident stormtrooper that refuses to back down from a fight
- He hates anything New Republic (hence why it's written he hates Zaina) and anyone that is anti-Empire
- But behind the curtain? It's a whole different story
- The only trait that carries through from his persona to his actual character is that he's still rather chatty (or at least, that's what it says in the wiki)
- He in fact, hates the Empire as much as anyone else does, if not more due to personal experience
- He had first-hand experiences with the way the Empire just threw away others lives like nothing, having been the last man of multiple regiments and losing not just other troopers, but real people with families
- He left after a little while due to realising things in the Empire weren't as glorious as they promised it would be
- But why pretend to be pro-Empire then? It's simple; it gets the crowds attention
- In order to get an audience's attention, you have to be either loved, or hated
- And with Sen already having a familiarity with the Empire and it's stormtrooper training, he fit much better into the role of 'the villain' (although I'm certain at first he felt some hesitation in the beginning with pretending to love the Empire)
- But it was kind of difficult in the beginning to adjust to all the boos and so on when he would step out
- He was used to being insulted and looked down upon behind his back (having been a stormtrooper before all leaving due to a growing hatred towards the Empire's methods) but it did certainly take some getting used to with crowds actively hating on him
- But luckily, he had some of his fellow hunters help lift the burden a little
- Obviously, they all knew who he really was as a person backstage, but that didn't make him any less shocked when Zaina was one of the first to help out
- I like to imagine that it's one night when he's heading back to his bungalow that Zaina stops him
- "Hey. The crowd can be pretty... Cruel at times, right? It reminds me of my time in the rebellion, where a lot of people were... Not so welcoming to me."
- Sen feels a sort of guilt whenever Zaina brings up her past, knowing that he sort of played a part in that, including the loss of her legs (even if she promises it's no big deal anymore)
- "I just wanted to say that, no matter what, we know the truth. We may have started on different sides, but... We're kind of like a big family now, and families support eachother."
- I like to imagine that Zaina and Sen are actually quite close behind the scenes, coming up with new ways to show off their 'rivalry'
- As a personal headcanon (with no evidence to back up) I think the crack on Sen's helmet actually comes from his decision to leave the Empire
- Even during his service, I think he was someone that made a lot of friends, and after losing so many it made him have this sort of internal rage towards the government he used to serve so willingly
- It wasn't until he was talking with a superior after losing his whole squad again he let loose all that anger
- After what the officer said about those troopers, his friends, being nothing more than just another statistic, he finally had enough
- He quit then and there, going to pack his things and throwing his helmet on the floor so hard it got a crack
- Hence why he doesn't want to discuss it, due to it reminding him of his time in the army
- That's all I got, let me know if anyone wants more about him!!!
