{~ℛ  “Lieutenant, I was wondering when I’d see you around here. Hopefully things haven’t too chaotic while I’ve been away.”

Gin hardly expected to have any retaliation. It was a thrilling pain that sent a jolt through his body. Deserved, just unexpected. Even seeing how the fire in those eyes hadn’t been extinguished. Part of why Gin still held some desire to own the detective. So few like him… Even as he felt his eye starting to swell and tasted copper on his tongue. 

After reeling back a moment, the grin slowly came back then Gin just let out a loud cackle. Oh it felt so damn good! Gin stared right back with hints of blue shining out not hiding how amused he was. 

“Look at tha’ fire~! I’m sa glad ta see nothin’ has killed it. Ya can’t speak yet yar eyes still burn. Still as beautiful as the first time I saw ‘em. Shame ya dun wanna play anymore, Roy~” The name was purred out as he leaned in leaving just a few inches between them.

{~ℛ  The reaction he got from Gin twists his stomach and causes his nose to wrinkle in disgust. Of course the man would grin and laugh, find it amusing that there was still fight in him despite everything that happened. Despite the trauma that was enough to rob him of being able to speak. It would have been better if it was taken if his voice box was damaged, but no he mentally couldn’t bring himself too. 

Teeth grit together into a deep snarl, as he resists the urge to strike the other again. 

Anyone that knows Roy Mustang, will know that he is as stubborn as they come and giving up is not an option. Of he wouldn’t let what Gin did to him, all he did to him, prevent him from trying to move forward and live his life. He’s not hiding or ignoring the past, he’s using it to move forward and keep moving. 

You can’t live in fear, otherwise you’re not living, you’re just surviving. 

Pulling his head back as Gin leans closer so they’re face to face and he’s staring into a sliver of the blue that’s shown. As much as it unnerves him and makes him shiver, Roy doesn’t break his eye contact for a few moments before a soft scoff flees his lips and he decidedly spins on his heel to put distance between him and Gin.

Ohh…? Even without words, Roy was giving a loud and clear message. Not backing down but trying to go around him? Impressive. Gin couldn’t help but want to reminisce on a time before things become too complicated. Though he didn’t touch, Gin whispered loudly as Roy tried to step around him.

“Should ya change yar mind…give meh a call. Well, just contact meh. Ya dun need ta talk but I’m sure I can make ya scream~” Tempted as he was not a single finger was raised. Where Gin was looking wasn’t kept hidden though as he was practically undressing the other with the blue slits. 

Roy wasn’t going to be given distance that easily though. Steps followed behind the detective just making it known, if Gin really wanted to, nothing would stop him.

{~ℛ  Roy feels his entire form go rigid at the words, obsidian eyes shift to look back at the man, even slightly looking over his shoulder at him. Why is Gin following him? It’s clear the other has something holding him back, but still feels it necessary to taunt and follow him. It’s making his stomach to flips and hands shake, but he balls them into fists to prevent them from being seen. 

Every part of him wants to reel back to face Gin and ask him why, but his voice is still lost to him. He wants to talk, but his mind would just shut down when he opened his mouth to speak. Hating that Gin had such an unsettling and seemingly permanent effect on him.

Adorable. Truly adorable. 

“Ya dun miss the old times, Detective? Much simpler days back then ta spend time with ma pets. Ya were one of ma favorites.”

Gin stepped closer, sure that Roy would step away and wanted to get his back against a wall. Trademark grin in place as he leaned in to get in Roy’s personal space. Just all too pleased with how he still had an effect on people. It brought back a bit of himself that had been taken away. “Dun worry though, I can’t play with ya. Someone would be very upset if I went back ta ma old ways…but it’s good ta see yar face~ With we could play again one day.”

{~ℛ  Now he can’t help but feel every muscle in his system go rigid. The old times, pet. The word alone made him shiver, but he tries to stand his ground, even as Gin steps closer. His heart pounding heavily in his chest the blood rushes through his ears. and is telling him to run. Hating that because he normally gets the sense to run...

Gritting his teeth, his lips form into a light snarl, as the fire in his eyes stare down Gin. Despite the fear coursing through him, he doesn’t back down. 

Even when Gin states he can’t ‘play’  he doesn’t buy it and relax. Letting Gin know, on no uncertain terms, that his feelings were not mutual and to get as far from as possible is the only thing on his mind now.

What a perfect reaction. Gin knew he’d get scolded for doing anything but a little teasing couldn’t hurt. After all the mess the other day he needed a little pick-me-up. What better then to visit the man that brought he so much amusement? Ah…the good old days…

“Oh…still can’t talk, can ya? Poor thing… Did ya need a little help ta relax?”

{~ℛ  Jaw is set and nose wrinkles further, heart speeding up just a bit. Why couldn’t he have just been left alone. He was doing just fine, until he saw the face that haunted his nightmares for months. Even still, the occasional memory would creep in. This takes everything in his willpower to not take a step back, he can’t let Gin keep controlling what he can do. 

Fear won’t stop him, he can over come this. 

Lips thin at the comment before curling into a snarl, everything about his expression screaming

{~ℛ  Just a momentary silence, before nose wrinkles and chest tightens. Words had still been lost on him, but he still musters a glare at the man...no devil. Fists clench at his sides as breathing falls heavily and it’s everything he could do to prevent his form from slightly trembling.

A light sigh leaves her lips as he place his hand on her shoulder. Here hazel gaze meets his concerned ones. He was right about needing someone to watch her back sometimes. 

“Yes Sir. I’ll make sure to have someone else to watch my back.”

{~🔥  There is a subtle hint of a smile tapering at the edges of his lips, a relieved gaze in his eyes before his hand is removed from her shoulder as they are lightly shoved into his pockets. 

      “I know you will Lieutenant, otherwise I’m going to have to start assigning a detail to you.”

{~🔥  There is a moment of silence, Roy’s steady gaze remaining on the younger blonde alchemist. Trying to assess his next course of action, obsidian eyes remaining a silent observer before heaving a sigh and leaning back in his chair. 

      “Well, Fullmetal what do you have to say for yourself? Taking a simple task and turning it into full blown problem that I have to come down and deal with. Want to tell me exactly what happened, in your own words?”

A frown tugged at the corners of her mouth. She wasn’t the opponent her grandfather was for him, she knew, but that didn’t mean she wanted to make this easy for him. There were still several moves she could make to save herself from check, but one move away from being right back in harm’s way. With the move of a bishop, she took his knight. It was only a stalling move for now to save her king, but it saved her for the moment.

“Your turn, sir.” Despite her position, her expression remained as calm as ever.

{~🔥  Pursing his lips slightly, Roy sits with his arms crossed firmly over his chest as he tries to assess his next move. Taking in the placement of all her pieces and the possible moves she could make to take his piece for every one he pictures moving. 

  Brows knitting together, the colonel decides to move the piece that makes him look vulnerable and opening him up, but in turn plans a way to take her king as well.

It was time like this she was thankful the Colonel left his post. Though it did make her feel guilty a little. She was meant to be protecting him. her breathing calms and she can’t bring herself to look at him just yet. 

“I’m fine, Thank you for saving me Sir.” 

{~🔥  Roy watches the woman carefully, concern furrowing his brow before moving so he is standing a few feet in front of her. Obsidian gaze not wavering for a moment before inhaling softly and placing a hand on her shoulder.
