Colin nodded. It would seem this stranger was not only beautiful, but kind. He cleared his throat, and gestured for her to lead the way. As he begun to follow, he had the odd thought that he would follow her anywhere. He tried to shake it off. only stumbling slightly now. “I like tea,” he said rather simply, almost dumbly to his ears. “Though of course— You do not have to trouble yourself. Truly. You are showing me more than enough kindness, Miss, ah….”
He realized he had not yet gotten her name. “Do forgive my rudeness. I have yet to introduce myself. My name is Colin. Colin Bridgerton. I am pleased to… make your acquaintance.”
Something about him was different...a kind of different that made her heart warm in his presence. He was charming, that was for sure, but he was also genuine and kind. It was a rarity that she didn't often come by. "My name is Penelope, but everyone calls me Pen." Shuffling with her keys, she quickly unlocked the front door and pushed it open for them. "Colin is a nice name. Bridgerton too. It sounds...like good writing." Smiling, she let her eyes move down his form. "Is it that you're tall or am I short do you think?"
There were moments here where Bones needed some of Spock's cold logic. When things so bizarre, like with this supposed cupid flying around cursing people the other night. "Hate to break it to you, Spock. I don't think starfleet had anything to do with this." He motioned around. "This is earth from the past. Starfleet doesn't exist." He explained slightly. "What do you think I've been doing?" A chuckle left him. "What I do best. I am chief of medicine for one of the hospitals here in the city." There was nothing else Bones could or wanted to do. "Been here a few months. I have seen Jim. He is still himself. Nothing will change him. Glad you seem to have settled in a bit."
Hearing that McCoy had been so settled, he began to reconsider his solutions for this problem. "A few months...I see. I haven't been here long at all." His brow furrowed, as it usually did when he was trying to think on something. "I suppose you and the captain have spent quite a while trying to understand this with no luck?" Hearing Jim was doing well made him relax a bit, happy secretly that both his friends were well and alive.
Eloise checked over her phone in the glow from the torch. "No, luckily enough." She knew it was only a matter of time until she was unlucky when she dropped it. Standing up, she slipped the phone back into her bag. "Isn't that a whole thing? Girls and their notes app? Mine's just a list of books I've seen that I want to check out at some point." Not that Eloise was supposed to be buying more books.
She stepped closer, and it was only then that she recognised the other. Penelope... she felt almost ashamed that she hadn't immediately recognised her, but six years is such a long time. "Pen?"
Smiling properly, Penelope felt excited at the other woman's words. "You like to read? I do too!"
Her smile fell slightly as the energy between them became a bit more...serious. Something was hanging in the air and she just couldn't put her finger on it. "Oh sorry have we met?" Her eyes were showing the confusion she was feeling, finding only now that the woman did seem familiar. "I feel like we have."

"My, my, my do my eyes deceive me?" Bones chuckled as he noticed Spock, sitting there with a chess set. It was like things never changed. He went over to the other and took a seat across from him. "Spock, never thought I'd say this but I am glad you to see you." A little smile appeared on his features. As much as the two might not see eye to eye, argue or bicker, Spock was one of his closest friends and he did miss him. Sometimes Spock's cool unfeeling logic was just what Bones needed.
"Where have you been hiding?"
Seeing McCoy was admittedly relieving to Spock, despite how much the two would bicker. He was always the butt of the joke when it came to Bones, but somehow he started to find it...endearing. Not that he'd ever admit to it. "Dr. McCoy. I knew you'd show up eventually. I'm assuming Starfleet is...interested in this strange phenomenon." He looked around then. "I haven't been here long enough to assess the situation properly, but I have found an adequate place of living to set up equipment. I've been spending most of my time there. What have you been doing? How long have you been here? Is Jim--...Have you seen the captain?"
It was as though Colin blinked, suddenly, the woman was in front of him, reaching out to take hold of his arm. He blinked at her, feeling his heart start to race at the contact. He looked at her for a moment. She was even more beautiful up close. He felt almost as though he already knew her, though of course, that was impossible. And yet, as she looked into his eyes, Colin felt something he was certain he’d never felt before. Something difficult to describe.
“Right,” he said after a moment, trying to clear his throat. “Right, I should probably sit down. Yes.” She did make sense; even though he was so sure he was playing off how drunk he was masterfully. If a beautiful woman wanted to take him home…? Well, not that Colin would try anything unsavory. He was a gentleman after all… mostly. He was also just a man. “Are you certain?”
His questioning made her hesitate, because honestly what was she doing? It went against all the stranger rules, but she couldn't seem to make herself concerned. She could feel the firmness and heat of his arm under her fingers, and it felt like a comforting...familiar feeling. Like something she once cherished. It was confusing, though it did not show on her face. "I'm sure. I can't leave you out here in this state." Penelope replied, turning towards the direction of her apartment steps. "I can make you some tea if you like."
Having parted ways with her friends outside the restaurant, Eloise began to make he way back to her apartment. She was rummaging through her bag, looking for her pack of gum when she dropped her phone. Seeing the woman in front of her turn, half recognising her in the dim light, she held a hand up as she crouched down. "Just dropped my phone, don't worry! Just clumsy."
Her voice sounded familiar, so once she got her bearings Pen closed the gap between them and turned on the flashlight of her own phone in hopes to help the other woman see better. "Is it cracked? My phone is my baby I'd be devastated..." she said hurriedly, before giving a slight pause. "That sounds bad. I mean that in a totally healthy way I swear." She let out an awkward chuckle. "I've just got a ton in my notes app I don't want to lose."
"Chess, huh?" Agatha gave a quarter of a smile. "It's been a while." Truth be told she'd never found excitement in the game, always choosing to play 4d chess with the people she surrounded herself with, rather the game. person vs. person at the table. In fact, the witch couldn't remember the last time she'd played. Couldn't remember the last frivolous activity she'd had with anyone. But, this person had boldly enough gone and invited her to a game. "Yeah, yeah I'm game. She was all smiles now, putting on her sing songiest voice. "Do you want to be black or white, stranger?"
@hcartbled
Spock wasn't sure what to make of the woman, but he found her...intriguing at least. It'd make beating her all the more interesting. "I think it would be adequate if you were to choose, since I invited you to the game." Moving to sit, he motioned to the chair across from him. The smile the woman wore prodded at Spock's mind...it was if she knew something he didn't know. That was the last thing Spock liked when it came to meeting new people.
"Perhaps you should choose white for first move, though I doubt it will help you here."
Kirk and Spock Closed Starter ( @hcartbled )
He knew Bones was around. He'd known that for a while. He seemed to be doing really well and Kirk was happy for him. Kirk on the other hand was taking this a bit harder. Not having his job was... a blow, honestly. He'd dedicated his life to his ship and crew. And now... he didn't have it. Didn't have the ability to even travel in space anymore. He wasn't doing much these days except keeping an eye out for any of his other crew.
And that seemed to have paid off. He'd seen the other while out on a walk. It had to be Spock, even if he didn't have his ears. He knew sometimes people looked different when they arrived.
"Spock?" He called, waving to the other as he jogged up to him. "Is that you?"
Spock felt his worries melt off his shoulders when he heard his captain's voice, though his face showed no sign of it. Turning, he clasped his hands behind his back in the usual stance he gave as Jim made his way over. In all actuality, he knew he would find him eventually. That was how much faith he had in him as a leader. "Captain. I was wondering when you'd find me." His mouth gave the slightest twinge of a smile, which all he would allow himself. "I find it...helpful that you're here with me. I've been trying to get to the bottom of everything." His fingers twitched behind his back, feeling a need to embrace him. He felt less alone now.

Colin was headed home from a night out with friends at one of the local bars within walking distance of his apartment. Admittedly, yes, he was a bit inebriated. But luckily he didn't have much farther to go. Still, it was when he caught the glimpse of a young woman with waves of red hair that he finally stumbled over his own two feet. Her beauty had, quite honestly, knocked him off his footing. He went tumbling forward into the nearby trash can, causing the loud noise. He cursed under his breath while he righted both the can and himself as best he could, only to look back and realize the redhead was now staring at him.
Her voice, though... It pulled at his heart somehow. It was as if she were a siren on land. He put his hands up, quickly realizing how stupid he probably looked. "M-My, my apologies, I-" He what? He was drunk? He couldn't go saying that! (As though it weren't already painfully obvious.) "I- I didn't mean to startle you. I'm afraid I'm just terribly clumsy, really."
Her eyes softened as they fell on the stranger, her fear dissolving in a matter of seconds. It was peculiar to her, because she had no idea who this man was and he clearly had way too much to drink. Realizing he was having a hard time standing straight, she acted on impulse, taking quick strides towards him to hold him steady by his forearm. Her neatly done manicured nails grazed against the fabric of his shirt, leaving gentle indents as Pen held onto him. "It's alright. I'm just a bit...in need of a clear head. Seems you are as well." Her eyes tried to meet his, startled by how clear they were for someone so intoxicated. This was silly...Dangerous even. He was quite a bit taller than her, and could easily cause her harm if he wished, but for some reason she felt completely safe and secure in his presence. "If you'd like a glass of water, or to just sit for a while, my apartment is just there. You seem like you need to rest."
Rick couldn't remember the last time he had played a game of chess. Must have been years and years ago back home before his life was turned upside down but then again when wasn't his life turned upside down? Looking at the other, he arched a single brow before he nodded. "Sure but just be warned that I am a little bit rusty. It's been a hot second since I last played" he has also never been the best at it but he kept that to himself.
Making a noise that was considered a 'tsk' commonly, he took a seat and nodded to the one across from him. "That lowers your chances of winning to twelve percent now. Unfortunately the likelihood of winning is not great, but you're certainly welcome to try that twelve percent." His words were cold, and frankly blunt. He had always been that way, and often aboard the enterprise he found that other humans took it the wrong way. It made him...curious.

Finding something to do was proving to be quite boring for Spock while he settled into his life here in Washington. Humans weren't exactly technologically advanced compared to what his Vulcan brain could handle, so it was well...quite boring. As he perused through a garden, wondering if maybe he should take up one of those human hobbies he's read about, something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Pointed ears.
A shine grew in his eyes that radiated pure determination as he approached the person, finding a bit more hope (or not as he did not feel emotions) rise in his chest. "Greetings. " He held his hand up in the usual Vulcan greeting. "I know it may not appear as such, but I am also Vulcan. When I arrived some of my attributes were taken from me."
Miles was on patrol. The city had a way of making things even more dangerous than New York. He wanted to do his part to keep people safe. And the best way he could think of was dawning the spider-suit and keeping a look out.
He'd spotted the woman leaving her apartment and decided to keep an eye on her. He didn't think she was suspicious or anything. On the contrary, he just wanted to make sure she got to wherever she was going safely.
But a misstep here and a mistimed web there and he was making a mess of the whole operation. He was wide-eyed under the mask as she turned and saw him. He waved a little.
"Uh, hi!" He greeted, trying to sound as nice as possible.
Pen was...startled, to say the least. It wasn't everyday you see a person dressed like that. She clutched her keys tightly, taking a single step back. He sounded nice enough, but his attire wasn't entirely making her feel safe. She couldn't even see his face! "Hi. Um...Sorry, this isn't really an everyday occurrence for me so..." her voice lingered with uncertainty, but not necessarily concern like it once was. Maybe she was being a bit too hasty. He could just be going to a costume party or something.
"I guess well...I'm Pen?"
For a Vulcan, sometimes it could be boring to try and find things to do as a child, especially for someone like Spock. His human side had always been more prominent at that age, since he had yet to grow the will to live by logic. That is how he had become fond of chess. It was a game of logic and strategy, and it was easy enough to convince the other Vulcan children to play. Nowadays, he used it as a show of wit to his fellow space travelers. But these humans would do. His fingers gently pressed the side of the brand new chess set he had purchased; the pieces made from a dark obsidian stone. He thought it looked clean cut and considered that placing a piece would give a nice heavy thud against the board as it was placed. He had found a nice quiet spot to begin his set up at the local park, wondering if he could convince a passerby or two into playing a game they would ultimately lose. Lifting the top carefully, he began to pull out each piece.
“If your schedule is clear, would you be agreeable to a game of chess?” Spock asked the next body to pass him, without even giving the person much consideration.

Was that [ETHAN PECK]? Oh no no, that was just [SPOCK], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [STAR TREK]. They are [ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE] years old, use [HE/HIM], and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
Giving her laptop a firm shut, Pen let out a hushed sigh; the kind of sigh that was personal and you would just... rather keep to yourself. Her latest publishing had been her worst yet, and ever since then she’d found it hard to form the words she wished to relay.
It all was mixing together, really. The stress of not having a social life plus this was a little hard to stomach.
Finally deciding she had enough, she reached for her bag and her keys and headed towards the door. Pen needed a break, and being sat alone in her apartment was not the place to get her head cleared.
But it was late at that point, and the streets of dc were eerily quiet. It put her on edge, and when she heard a small noise from behind her she jumped slightly. “Hello?” she quickly turned, trying to seek out the source.
