Percy jackson, I binge read the first 5 books in less than two weeks, cried a lot, watched the first two seasons of the show, cried some more, and eventually I will drag myself to the library to read the rest of the books.

Stranger things, ive been a huge fan since s1 came out, but wasnt a huge byler beleive until s4 (i didnt even experience romantic attraction until the time s4 came out so I couldn't recognize hints of it in fictional characters), but I was always a platonic mileven truther. Huge co forming gateist since the finale, and I will whole heartedly cry on Nov 6th. This is also what majority of my posts will be about as its the main reason im on tumblr.

Since I don't believe in coincidences anymore, maybe S4 looking so jarringly different from the rest of the seasons is intentional. The plastic sleeve reminds me of a Blockbuster VHS rental.

If it is intentional, I wonder if it's pointing us toward the whole tapes and memory manipulation of it all.
And why S4? I think the memory manipulation has been happening since at least S3, so it's interesting to me that they chose S4 to look like a VHS case. I think it may be hinting that, starting in S4, Brenner alters El's memories of The Rainbow Room (x) using his VHS tapes.

I think that Star Court Mall is Hawkins National Laboratory, and that the ‘Russian Underground Lab’ is actually the expansion of Hawkins National Laboratory into the rest of the Upside Down. The Star Court Mall is taking over Hawkins, the Russian Underground Laboratory is taking over the Upside Down.
It’s also so interesting to me that each season takes place over the span of one week (with some flashbacks and some breaks ofc).
Which reminds me of THE WEEK IS LONG. Basically, I think the ‘true’ events of the story are going on in between the seasons and the seasons that we see are the ‘long week’ where the lab is altering their memories.
Murray is concerned about El because he thinks she is either an alien or part of a Russian presence in Hawkins. But WE know she is actually part of Hawkins National Laboratory’s research. Therefore, Russia = Hawkins National Laboratory interfering with Hawkins.
A trip to China… there is a common like turn of phrase about “digging a hole to China” in America. Especially with the tunnels being built in the previous season.
(Again, the Mind Flayer didn’t want those tunnels there… it had Will spy and set up a trap for the soldiers and the laboratory personnel. The Mind Flayer is tired of that lab!!!!)
The Russian Code could be the secret to how Hawkins National Laboratory has been moving since Season 3.
Of course, when blue meets yellow in the west is ~Byler~ BUT also the Abyss being yellow and the Upside Down being blue - expanding the Upside Down.

I love being in a fandom where the source material is like a broken candy dispenser and parts of the fandom enjoy shaking it up and seeing the interesting-shaped-rocks and shards of glass that come out like "ooh this one is shaped like a heart!" "This one is shaped like doom and depression, just like my life, hah!"
This post by Gritstartar provided the last braincells needed to think of something.
I've been a firm believer that Mike should've gotten Vecna'd. With his trauma, suicidal tendencies, and knack for compartmentalizing all of his problems in order to be a leader for his friends, he fits the same criteria that Vecna's victims from s4 did.
I've seen a conformity gate theory (probably by Gritstartar too, they have peak conformity gate theories go check out their acount everything here can probably be traced back to them except for the suzie thing) that Mike WAS Vecna'd, in season 4. And he brought the curse to Lenora with him.
Theres also the theory that vecna can mess with video tapes and radio signals.
With both of those in mind, when I read the post I linked above, and I saw the word "Cerebro"...
Cerebro was built in s3 so dustin could reach suzie, and I beleive in the show he says it can reach even farther. If Vecna can mess with videotapes and potentially radiowaves, what if Cerebro allowed Vecna'd to possess/flay people in hawkins (gave him a power boost) and also allowed him to reach people across the entire u.s.?
Why would Vecna want to amplify his curse before he knew he needed it?
Vecna could have just wanted a fail-safe incase any of his planned victims left, but i think cerebro wasnt meant to just allow him to reach wider, I think it allowed him to use his powers more effectively in the right side up, I think it was what let him and the mindflayer have multiple victims. Eventually dozens upon dozens of victims within the season.
How did Vecna get dustin to create it?
Easy. Suzie isnt real.
OKAY HEAR ME OUT-we never heard about the camp dustin went to, Susie is Dustins absolute DREAM girl, who lives in Nevada (or idaho, or utah, i forget where, but the point is its far away), yet somehow manages to go to the same camp as a random kid from Nowhere, Indiana? Vecna didnt mess with will inbetween s2-3 and I think thats becuase he was implanting false memories into dustin, ones that encourage and explain how to build cerebro. He came back to hawkwins from this mysterious camp with all of the parts, and just needed to assemble them.... as soon as it was created, vecna could interact with multiple people, and will started feeling the mindlfayers presence again.

EXACTLY
Okay so, Mike carried the curse with him from Indiana, (I beleive that the curse allows vecna to use the cursed as a hotspot for his powers, allowing him to tamper with those nearby as well) which then allowed Vecna to create false memories for the lenora gang, those memories being suzie and her family.
First of all, her appearance earlier in the season. At first glance it seems like classic use of chekhovs gun, introduce a gun on the wall in chapter one, use it by the end of the story. Except with my other theory post (actually a reblog of gritstartar where i add on my 2 cents but here) Vecna is a bad storyteller, (allowing the audience to see when he takes over from mike/reality), so he isnt using chekhovs gun as a writing tool, hes using it as a manipulation tactic. Simaler to how magicians use it (magic-ians, mages, wizards) it really life and movies.
If you've seen "Now You See Me 2", its a tactic the horsemen use to make the specific guy who uses the French bank come to their las Vegas show. They already robbed his bank, they just needed him to keep thinking about their show in las Vegas so he'd buy the ticket and be there for the performance to be complete. Vecna brought suzie back into the story so dustin wouldn't shut up about her, so mike would remember her when they came up short on finding el.
Vecna also knew where el was thanks to cerebro allowing him to find people's minds from long distances (if we asume Vecna has every power el, kali, and the other children have, he has the tracking one el has, too) since he can use his powers over a wider expanse in the right side up.
This is why shes forgotten about during s5, she never existed, and Vecna cant tie up loose ends like a good writer.
Other things I couldnt find a place to mention:
I dont think argyle is real either, I think he existed to make jonathan forget about photography and his curiosity/knack for detecting stuff.
Either that or hes one of the people not possessed, who's trying to wake everyone else up. (Along with max)

The Robin and will scene from s5 about the avalanche and "signals" is actually them telling the audience how the party could not jsut defeat vecna, but actually win, how they could defeat the mindflayer.

Tattoo parlor × Flower shop au, except we learn what the fuck mike was doing flirting with the counter girl. we get some platonic elmike wingman-ing and wingwoman-ing for eachother, and some henderhop crumbs. Theres also mike being a loser who keeps rolling nat 20s on charisma checks.

The Last Shadow Puppets AU intro with Wills perspective, some platonic madwise, some wonder twins, and a tough conversation (for will) that ends heartwarming-ly. (This idea comes with homework, it will be developed more when I finish re-listening to The Rascals' album.)
There is quite a clear favorite here.......ill work on this as an actual fic (wills initial pov as ch 1, mike-wtf-are-you-doing as ch 2), but have the best part of mikes pov out soon as another snippet!
lets be so fr, that "take off your belt" line was only removed bc the second they tested it out and heard it through Finn's mouth with Mike's inflection to Will, everyone collectively realized that the scene would more vulgar than the stancy sex scene of season 1
"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.
Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".

The title of this record, Synchronicity (x x), reminded me of the concept of synchrony, and more specifically, Interpersonal Neural Synchrony, which is when certain aspects of two people's brain activity, such as their brainwaves, become synchronized.
The DJ setup at the Snow Ball also reminded me of this concept, with the mixer connecting the two turntables, each with a Synchronicity record, and, as Robin said, records represent minds.
Also, when El first sees the Snow Ball memory, the DJ setup is on a bridge.
Interpersonal Neural Synchrony has been referred to as a "neural bridge" between two people.
Mike and Will are the bridge imo.
And the success of the party may depend on their synchrony.
And what can facilitate Interpersonal Neural Synchrony? Nonverbal signals.
One of the most common signals is mutual gaze or shared looks. 👀
So the question is, are these two in sync?
Or are their signals being interfered with?
