idk it's kind of frustrating. i've genuinely never, ever seen a character that uses a rollator before. not once. i cannot name a single one. i know of multiple ocs who are described to have full-body pain, dizziness, and fatigue that are drawn as cane users and are never shown with wheelchairs or walkers, though

it's also sort of sad? i've been diagnosed since i was twelve years old, and i only heard of rollators LAST YEAR. and that was only because i saw one irl and immediately asked what it was. i wonder how many disabled people out there don't even know it's an option solely because they're completely underrepresented online and in media

if you're a creative with a disabled oc, PLEASEEE check out this link. it's a very nice and detailed guide for telling which mobility aids suit someone's needs best. it's incredibly important to make the right choice for your character! mobility aids tell you a LOT about someone's lived experience. picking the right one will communicate to your audience #1 what your character goes through #2 that you UNDERSTAND what your character goes through!

Sign, I suppose, of the comfort of antiblackness, that it's easier to continue to beg Black people for patience, to expect it, feel entitled to it even, than it is to go to your peers and tell them to knock it off. will's tendency to check someone (especially mike LOL) when they are acting disrespectfully or dishonestly is something i love so much about his character. the way he takes no shit and demands kindness and consideration from those around him 😍 like of course he has his mopey suffering in silence moments but there are also plenty of times where he expresses himself exactly and without fear (rain fight scene, rinkomania fight, confronting joyce in s5 about continuing to baby him) and i love to see thattttt i love to see him identify what he deserves and ask for it. i think i also like this trait of his so much bc it's not entirely neutral. like most of the time will is just asking for what's right but (and we're venturing into speculation + headcanon here, though there's some canon evidence for this) i could also see this assertiveness turning reactive and angry, especially when he's feeling slighted, excluded, or misunderstood. i think those are the feelings that rly trigger will; and when triggered, it would not surprise me if his usually measured ability to ask for what he wants/needs could mutate into something more explosive i.e raising his voice, acting erratically, storming away/self-isolation...and i think he always feels sooooo guilty and so bad after he gets angry at someone like that cuz maybe it reminds him of his dad etc etc etc....buh i love him so much he is so complicated. the rich inner world of will byers is my favorite place to play

Also we should've been a little more gagged over the fact that El recognized Will in the photo and just. Never explains it. For four whole seasons.

You know how they had a funeral for Will and everyone believed that he was dead? And how the government had a vested interest in that belief going unchallenged? And how presumably there was paperwork that maybe they even rushed through? ... Do you think Will ever encounters any clerical issues relating to his apparent demise? Like, he's trying to apply for something or fill something out or whatever, and there's a problem that becomes a bureaucratic nightmare to resolve because he's technically still dead on paper somewhere because the federal government wanted him to be? And now he's gotta deal with that shit and it's just a giant fucking headache?
