INFORMATION ABOUT THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY SEASON 2
Great, now that I got your attention, I have something to say.
Stop shitting on the siblings. Stop invalidating their trauma just because they've done fucked up things because newsflash; we've all done fucked up things.
By invalidating one character, you're automatically making someone who relates to that character feel bad. I'm not saying you shouldn't point out their flaws, just don't shit down their throat for no reason.
The trauma Luther has gone through doesn't justify what he's done, it just explains why.
He was manipulated by Reginald into thinking his number had actual meaning.
His body was mutated without his consent, and he was sent to the moon for no actual reason.
He still feels like the leader, even though they're all adults now. He wants to be right, because if he's not, it will show he actually has no idea what he's doing as the leader.
He locked Vanya up, something that made her relive her childhood trauma.
The trauma Diego has gone through doesn't justify what he's done, it just explains why.
He was led to believe that he wasn't going to be better than Luther. That led to Diego being envious of him.
He is bitter towards his siblings, saying things that will deliberately hurt them, he doesn't apologize for doing so either.
The trauma Allison has gone through doesn't justify what she's done, it just explains why.
Reginald didn't stop her from using her powers to get whatever she wanted.
She was forced to use her power on her sister, but she was so little she didn't know what was actually going on.
She used her powers to get everything she wanted, and by the time she realized how wrong that was, her life was already ruined.
She wants to be in control of things, things that are non of her business either, even though she has good intentions.
The trauma Klaus has gone through doesn't justify what he's done, it just explains why.
He was locked in a mausoleum as a child, and he was constantly reminded of how useless he was to the rest of the team because of his powers not being helpful on missions.
He felt like being high as a kite was the only way to find peace, and he became an addict at a young age.
Ever since he became an addict, he just left his mess for others to clean up.
He possibly became a leech too. Sponging up to people to fund his drug habits, promising to pay them back but never actually doing so.
The trauma Five has gone through doesn't justify what he's done, it just explains why.
He never got to live a childhood, he had to experience everything all by himself in the middle of the apocalypse, and he was alone for over 30 years.
He turned into a tool, an assassin, and he never found joy in being one.
He's impatient, and unnecessarily rude, calling people useless and being way too opinionated.
The trauma Ben has gone through doesn't justify what he's done, it just explains why.
Ben was terrified of his powers (like Klaus), but was still eager to please Reginald, so he used them either way. He was easily manipulated into Luther and Reginald's "games" but couldn't actually do anything about it.
He died horribly at a young age.
He says things that will hurt Klaus in order to stop him from doing things that won't benefit him in the future, in order to make sure things will be okay in the end. Definition of tough love, basically.
He's sarcastic, and sometimes an asshole.
The trauma Vanya has gone through doesn't justify what she's done, it just explains why.
She was excluded out of everything her entire childhood, even family photos. It was like she wasn't actually there.
Her powers were stolen from her but she was rumored into forgetting she had them in the first place.
She found out her entire life is a lie, and that she actually does have powers.
Leonard manipulates her and tries to turn her against her family, also taking away her medication.
Vanya's had time to heal, even went to therapy, yet she refuses to get better. She gets upset when she gets excluded from things now as an adult, but pushes people away when they actually try to include her and then blames anyone but herself.
She slit her sister's throat (of course, she was remorseful right after it had happened, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, or that it was okay to do that).
She technically causes the apocalypse.
Every single one of them has done fucked up things. It's not just Luther or Vanya. I feel like I need to point this out because suddenly they're the main topic in this fandom for some reason.
Does that make the Hargreeves bad people? Not really. Does that mean they're good people? It depends on what you actually define as good or bad.
Either way, stop invalidating the characters and their trauma because of shitty decisions they've made, or because they've 'sinned'.
If doing bad things was all that mattered, and actually learning from your mistakes didn't, some of y'all are worse than the Luther or Vanya you appear to hate so much.
If that unsettled you, congratulations. You now know how some people feel when you hate on a character they identify with.
