Rest in peace, Kazuki Takahashi.

I was given permission by my sister to post this on my blog. She made this amazing piece of art to commemorate Yu-Gi-Oh! and Kazuki Takahashi.

Yu-Gi-Oh! has played and is currently playing a huge part of my life. I rediscovered Yu-Gi-Oh! when I was a preteen. I was in an extremely dark place in my life. Every day, I would wake up and feel ever so numb in my own body. However, Yu-Gi-Oh! made me feel whole, it made me feel something. The bonds these characters have… it made me feel for them. I felt like I was apart of their bond. I love Yu-Gi-Oh!, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite pieces of media. 

It gave me something to hold onto. It felt like I was there with them, it feels real to me. I’m at a loss for words, so hopefully these chopped up ones means something. The friends and mutuals I have made because of this will always stick to me. Yu-Gi-Oh! brought us together, and I couldn’t be happier.

Kazuki Takahashi created a beautiful world to place these characters in. Their bonds, strifes, and their lives displayed for us to take in. May his works live on, and may his legacy as well.

it was always very sweet to know kazuki takahashi was still thinking about yugioh, even as he was working on something else. the news of his sudden passing made me very sad.

i got into ygo kind of late in life, not as a childhood thing, it just ended up meaning a lot to me. i doodled this while watching dark side of dimensions, a movie that generally makes me cry every time i watch it anyhow…
