All Your Fault
If you feel like everything is your fault, you can find liberation in that feeling. Imagine that everything is actually your fault. You caused the sun to shine and the wind to blow. You created a world full of joy and suffering and you chose to get right down in the mud and suffer along with your creation.
If everything is your fault, you don’t have to waste any more of your energy finding fault or assigning blame. You’ve magnanimously taken that responsibility on yourself. There is no need to get angry at others because they can’t help themselves. They only do as you please. Please.
If you are suffering and think that you somehow deserve to suffer for what others do or did, then you need a way to expel that idea from your mind. One way to get rid of that idea is to look right at it and see it for what it is. You don’t even need forgiveness when there is nothing to forgive. That is freedom.

There are four things I invite you all to contemplate for the new year in the coming days. They are: a seed to plant, a wave to surf, a wound to heal, a burden to drop.
By examining these four ideas and setting them as intentions going into January, you will have tangible goals for the somewhat intangible challenges in our lives.
A seed to plant. No lasting change happens overnight. If we really wish to make a substantial change in the new year, then we must be ready to nurture and grow that change. Start small and let it expand naturally. Contemplate what you would like to plant for your life in the coming year.
A wave to surf. Not everything is under our control. Sometimes the hardest work is learning to surrender to your limits. What is something you just need to accept this coming year? Far from admitting defeat, this newfound acceptance will become a source of flow for you. Decide what you need to stop fighting and instead start surfing upon it.
A wound to heal. Has there been a past pain or event that you have been walking with up until now? What are some ways you have avoided healing or even become attached to this wound? Choose a past grievance to forgive, a hangup to get over, or a traumatic event to work on accepting.
A burden to drop. What “ought” and “should” thoughts have you been carrying around? Examine what identities or ambitions you have been knowingly or unknowingly carrying with you. Which of these hold you back? Which of them actively cause you pain because you are compelled to lug them around? Find one that no longer serves its purpose and drop it.
Make a list of these four things. Feel free to tag me in them and perhaps I’ll share some!
Namaste :) And happy impending New Year!

Crispy Gluten-Free Eggplant Parmesan / Recipe
Whole wheat linguine for lunch today. 😍😍 This was so good! I topped it with my mushroom-pea marinara, basil, and nutritional yeast (after the photo 😉).
You can find the recipe on my blog. If you’re not into peas, try adding roasted butternut squash instead.
We eat pasta every other day or so. The same goes for bread. (Someone pointed out that I never eat bread, but that’s false. 😅)
I love bread and I eat it often, usually every other day since somun is so good here. (Somun is a soft fluffy bread in the Balkans, it’s like a fluffier version of naan but vegan!) I just don’t photograph it since I usually eat it plain, for part of my dinner or on the move. (We are even picking some up for first dinner on our way to a jazz festival tonight. 😂) I also eat crackers almost every day as a snack.
The photos of my meals on social media don’t reflect *everything* I eat. Besides my regular breakfast and lunch photos, I have snacks often, usually 2 smaller dinners, and sometimes a snack just before bed. Also coffee and tea. Snacks and dinners can consist of apples and peanut butter, crackers with peanut butter, jam, and banana slices, grapes, mandarins, rice or pasta with leftover marinara, chips, bread, whatever I feel like eating!
I just want you to know that I’m not posting everything I eat. 😜 I don’t have time for that.
