hey quick PSA but “reading before bed to wind down” only works if you’re normal about books btw. if you aren’t you are going to end up awake at 2:52am after finishing the whole book just trust me on this one

I think it’s really funny how Knightley says “I should like to see Emma in love, and in some doubt of a return; it would do her good” and yeah, to a degree, that does happen to Emma but also it’s really cosmically funny how he says that, then spends a chunk of the movie having a breakdown over his feelings for her and laying on the floor and seething in silent jealousy over this other guy he thinks she likes.

rewatched emma 2020 today and suddenly life is worth living again????? it’s a little suspicious. don’t think that’s a coincidence tbh
