You’re right about that, it really. is. So, as it stands I’m not off on Halloween itself, but I’m off that Friday, October 29. I’ll see if I can’t pull something together, and by that I mean…I’ll pull something together. I’ll have something at my house, we can use my back yard as well. It’ll be a whole thing. Don’t worry about drinks or food, I’ll take care of all of that. But how are you at decorating? I like to think I’m pretty good at it, but pulling together something this close to time, I could definitely use the help. They do? We’re going to have to get you over that, work on your relationship, and get you on a better road. What do you have the most trouble with?

You are a queen among women and genuine Halloween angel, Megs. I’m not terrible at decorating, especially if I’ve got a bit of creative guidance -- honestly Hattie’s the genius, we might have to see if it’s possible to rope her in for some aesthetic acumen and general holiday decor expertise. I have trouble with... all of it? I literally burn water, it’s like the kitchen is a circle of hell every time I set foot in it for more than a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

I would plan it with help! I need to find a volunteer… c’mon ya’ll, pretend this is Hunger Games haha! Actually… people might not wanna volunteer at that rate, yikes.

Meg’s stepped forward with some ideas and her place — y’all should talk! I’m willing to chip in with a good old fashioned “Go team” though.

I’m actually not that big on candy so no trick-or-treating isn’t that big of a deal for me. I just love the costume part of things - seeing what others come up with and pushing myself to outdo the last thing I wore.

Excuse me… I turned my whole place into a haunted house everybody’s free to explore, I think I’ve done enough. It’s someone else’s turn to throw a party this year. Totally agree with you, tho. Very disappointed there’s not even a whisper about someone hosting a All hallows eve party,

Your whole place? Like.... where do you sleep, Sammy? Is there a mist machine and spooky soundtrack? You’re off the hook I guess, but you have to help me lean on others to get this thing done before the 31st gets here.

Not a single blessed person that I’ve seen so far, and it is tragic, let me tell you. I’d do it myself, but y’know... I don’t want to, 🤷🏼‍♀️ Plus there’s the fact that I can only fit maybe ten people in my apartment before folks start getting claustrophobic. I mean, I guess I could pitch in with drinks and food, as long as it doesn’t require the use of a stove and/or oven, because kitchen appliances have a vendetta against me, no joke.

Is this your way of assembling a party planning team because if it is then I volunteer as tribute, haha! My work hours may be a lot but so is my love for Halloween!

This is my way of foisting the job off on someone else, ha. I’m a terrible hostess -- there’s usually a basic requirement of kitchen skills for providing food for guests, and that is just not where my talents lie. I’m totally willing to provide moral support and encouragement, though, I make a fab hype-woman.

Cookies and coffee are the way to get anyone motivated, unless you’re a cyborg, in which case I think that that might not be the best thing to motivate you. Hmm, well if you want to be in a place that’s all decked out for Christmas you can always come over to my place! I’m sure Blaine and Matt have their place all ‘Halloween-ified’ already.

Can confirm that I am not, in fact, a cyborg, then. Lord, I was jumping straight to thinking of Christmas, I didn’t even think about what they’ve done for Halloween. If Matty’s rigged jump scares in the bushes when I try to drop by, I’m disowning him as a brother.

I feel you, I’ve been looking forward to parties too. I’m not sure if I can host it though - I tend to work weekends. 

Keeping my fingers crossed they’ll end up being good friends. Don’t want it to be like I have to lock Grimm away because he attacks Pepper whenever you two come and visit…. Okay, okay… two words - Piglet and Pooh.

Naaaah, Pep’s all bark and no bite, if he can end up BFFs with Buster, they’ll get used to each other. Oh.... my god, please tell me Pepper’s Piglet?? I mean, Banner could be Piglet, but he’d be a Piglet that would totally dwarf Pooh, which is a mindfuck ngl.

I feel like that’s against a number of laws or codes and I wouldn’t want to see that be my downfall.

I’m free whenever so come on over when you want. He’s going to scare Grimm with his barking but I think it’s going to be okay. That’s what Banner did too and now they’re like besties. Oh and speaking of Pepper… I have like the best idea for a costume for him and Banner. Wanna hear?

Pepper isn’t even a little bit scary on his own, so he might actually be surprised at that. Oooooh, do tell, I’m all ears!

I’m going to be honest, I may or may not have cackled out loud at the thought of that being on a throw pillow. 

If you want help decorating I’d be happy to help! I can provide cookies and coffee as a way to get us through it! I hadn’t thought of it that way, you’re right… But, if you enjoy the coziness that the decorations bring, isn’t that sort of worth it? Besides, it can always be an excuse to have some of your favourite people over? 

The irony just makes it a million times better, I think.

By all means, if she wants to be a nosy bitch, she can try. Is it ethically irresponsible of you to be a therapist to your friends? Please, wine might be good right about now.

I think the irresponsible part is more alcohol-focused than therapy focused, honestly. I’m used to my clients being way shorter than me, but upside: it makes me a damn good listener. You going to open mic at CEJ tonight? I’m buying -- but if you’d rather do something quieter I can raincheck for tomorrow night when it’s a little more calm.
