That fucking plot twist in the end of ATSV confused me and made me believe that Gwen was hiding for so long before she came in because she didn't want to interrupt Miles' conversation with his mother but it was actually because she needed to gather courage to come in because she wasn't sure how he's gonna react when he sees her again and she was most likely trying to figure out what to say to him and only when she came in and was surprised that he wasn't there it hit me...
