Some Ornamental longtailed long-crower roosters

The colourful Red Junglefowl and the Grey Junglefowl males They are two of the four living junglefowls which contributed to the development of the domesticated chicken (especially the Red Junglefowl, thought to be the diredt ancestor of the chicken). The Grey Junglefowl is thought to be the one who gave the yellow skin characteristic of the chicken as well as various body parts of the bird. They are ancestors of chickens that we know today.

These two breeds are known for their ‘Hen-feathering’ among their roosters!

They have the same colours as the females as well as feather shape but they’re roosters.

And I do have free time! :) free time is nice, so here is the pallet from Mod Fer’s post, and one I made right now from Lucio’s game model in under 3 minutes for empathizes of the point.

All we did was see Lucio portrayed lighter than he is, and wanted to point it out! The fact that Lucio exists is very huge in terms of representation, I can’t recall any other canon Afro-Latinx this popular in video games right now! Especially one who is a ‘Good Guy’

So when people draw him lighter than he actually is (especially how popular your post is! 5,000+ notes!) it can be very harmful to people who see themselves in Lucio. Especially with how colorism is a very real issue in many cultures.

All we wanted to do was just point it out and explain why it was harmful, that is all. What you do with this information is up to you.

This will be the last post about your Lucio drawing on our blog! If anyone has any questions, they can just back read, and really we’ll just be repeating ourselves over and over at this point :)

The answer is and will always be, no…fucking idiot no. It dosn’t matter what these people draw or write Lucio will always be dark black…so who gives a flying fuck how people draw him. 

But I shall second @ mootecky super great comment about lighting. Light changes our skin ton and just about every single color literally ‘under the sun’. It will change even the darkest of skins a shade lighter. That’s how ‘light’ works and reflects. The image @ owfansagainstracists took was from his basic reference sheet (I know..I own the book it’s pull from which have older ideas for characters as well as) and they seem to have noticed this as they took a single still from the game and did ANOTHER noticeably LIGHTER palette…for some reason? I guess to show that in game is different from their ‘real’ Lucio? But the illustration from the book is much lighter than any image from the game, even his clothing and gun are at least three shades darker than what is represented, and details are missing. His yellow highlights are shorter, his muscles are less defined and in general he looks light they literally ‘lightened’ him from his expression to his tones. 

Depending on the lighting of each Map he will appear different as will every character but since Lucio shows the most skin he is the easier to use and is bait for the retard police I guess. 

Black skin is like white skin (fucking shocking I know!) it can get redder when they blush, or pale when they feel sick, sunburn, rashes and ash are all things that happen. All these things change their complexion. And so does light. Hanzo looks down right Mexican on some maps, sporting a darker, almost brown skin palette with almost now yellow undertones. Reaper is another one who looks straight up white on maps like Volskaya or Kings Row. 

From what I can tell @mootecky used a very nice washed out palette, with yellow as the base background tone. The whole look is very (cute)washed looking making it softer. Her palette choice for his skin is clearly not wrong as she pointed out (rek) but it also is not wrong for the piece itself. I look like shit on backgrounds of red or yellow. My red hair and super pale skin looks straight up gross so often I’ll pick very mute tones to match clothing wise. From an artist stand point she did a wonderful job.
