Ko_op's new game announcement turned out better than even I expected. It's a sci-fi life-sim like Animal Crossing but set on a dreamy Jupiter space colony, the spaceship you use to explore serves as your house you can decorate as you please. So far it's an open beta on xbox gamepass but the full game will be available on steam and consoles, and at some point the character customization will include anthro animal designs!! (and you can change your appearance at any time thanks to science).

She's being stalked by a disgusting parasite with her exact image. Her exact body. A violent, alien reflection. It's several levels of metaphor. It's dysphoria. It's internalized transmysoginy, the predator shaped like her. What is she turning into? Does she really want to be like that? But the one that is most chilling to me is: if this inhuman monster can convincingly perform Samus Aran, and therefore womanhood, what exactly makes her claim to womanhood more legitimate than that of a monster?

And she kills it. Because she's motherfucking Samus Aran. Because she's motherfucking Samus Aran. Because under the suit, she's a person, while the parasite is nothing more than a weapon, created by the social system she exists in to use in war. It resembles her in shape, but not in actions. It is a lie. Consider that if it truly was her equal, she wouldn'be helpless against it for most of the game. She wouldn't be its victim up to finding the material resources to fight back and survive. Again: the reason they're not truly alike is that she's a person and it is a weapon.

then there's her "failing" to save a baby metroid she had developed maternal feelings for. a metroid that died to save her and after death was again used to save her after she was infected. she expresses the sorrow herself in the intro and it's highly possible that she felt like she failed as a mom

on the other side there's Adam - her late mentor she was missing greatly, someone who made a habit out of referring to her as "Lady" ever since she was a rookie. no wonder hearing her AI talking to her in his voice made her feel the way she did. she even started privately calling it his name. he always treated her like the woman she is, so no wonder she had good memories of him

Neomorph concept

HEY EVERYONE! The game that I worked on as Lead Artist/Art Director (And even wrote some of!) finally has a release date revealed - and it's my birthday, the 21st of February 2024! It'll be coming out for Steam, Switch, Xbox and PS4/5!

It's a biopunk character action/brawler with the mechanical depth of a fighting game where you murder millions of merciless militarized cops as a rogue swordsman seeking his missing boyfriend, merged with a living suit of armour who shares his ultimate goal of beheading the godlike "Sovereign Khan"ruler of a city built on suffering.

We filled it with living bioweapons, dubious cyborg priests, nightmarish monsters and it's ALL fully voice acted and lavished with the love of our whole team at PoppyWorks and our publisher Ziggurat.
