I can’t even begin to tell you how important this anthology is to me. Growing up as a mixed kid, I grappled with my identity on the reg. My sister and I exchanged strategies for how to answer race questions on standardized tests (I would alternate between white and asian every time, she would check other and write in “A delicate blend”). It was a joke between us, but it was also a constant source of personal anxiety and frustration. We’re told from such an early age that we have to fit into a box. To have this anthology now to pass on to my nephews, to tell them that mixed is magic, that they don’t have to choose one side or the other, that mixed folks have always existed and have done incredible things BECAUSE of their mixed cultures - it’s the book we needed as kids and now it’s going to be real! Please consider backing this project!!!!!!
