i feel like people dont talk enough about how even at the very beginning of soc inej is comfortable and pretty unfazed with kaz taking his shirt off while they're alone together. not just because it might be considered kinda weird by normal standards but i'd also imagine it would take her a lot of work and she'd need to have a lot of trust in kaz to be comfortable in that situation and know there are no sexual connotations or expectations of her, especially considering that when he first offered to pay off her indenture she assumed it was because he 'likes suli girls' and i think it's sweet to see how close they are since then even before the main plot. i fucking love these two

shadow and bone is like. it's the worst show i've ever seen it's the best show i've even seen it's a bad adaptation it's fanfiction with a netflix budget it's better than i expected it's worse than i wanted it's pure fan service the acting is phenomenal the writing is terrible and the thing is it's all of these things. but also it's none of these things because most importantly shadow and bone is a vessel for freddy carter to give the performance of a lifetime

I will never stop appreciating how ride or die Wylan is. this man allowed his ribs to be broken so he could embarrass his father. he doesn't necessarily like killing, but he's willing to for the mission. he's willing to do whatever it takes when Inej is kidnapped. and let's not forget how he risked permanently changing his appearance to look like someone else. he didn't know if he'd be able to change back. he didn't even tell Jesper, the man he had a huge crush on, because it might have affected the mission. once he commits to something, he'll pour everything he has into it.

someday, we, as a fandom, are going to accept that Matthias is an extremely deep and thoughtful character who, after reevaluating his entire life values and beliefs, manages to come to profound conclusions that doesn’t obliterate his devotion to his god but instead strengthens his purpose in life and his beliefs about his religion and can see deep, personal difficulties in the people around him and isn’t afraid to comment on it, (eg, calling jesper angry and frightened), but whatever fanon can just make his big blond and dumb its finnne

i absolutely love matthias!! it’s so hard to reprogram yourself after years and years of beliefs being instilled in you and i think his character development was so beautiful to see.
