Calvin's parents decide to take a Hawai'ian vacation. They're not sure how much of it their son will tolerate but they would like to do at least a few things that involve sandy beaches and scenic cycling routes. They are therefore pleased when Calvin seems to make friends with a local girl about his own age and the two of them run off to play
Now, from Calvin's point of view what has happened is that he spotted actual aliens, and starts trying to bring this to the attention if the adults. But the tourists are like, "that's nice, go shoot 'em with your water gun, have a good time," and the locals are like, "yeah, they're an older couple who decided to retire here. Happens all the time." Eventually, it becomes clear that Spaceman Spiff is going to have to handle it himself.
From Lilo's point of view, Jumba and Pleakley are her gay uncles, do you mind? Calvin does mind, and so the two of them spend the rest of the afternoon terrorizing Kaua'i in the effort to destroy one another while the aliens alternate between bailing them out of trouble and attempting to escape.
Hobbes and Stitch, meanwhile, are calmly playing checkers and drinking non-alcoholic margaritas.
OP Iâm sorry but the last sentence painted SUCH a vivid picture in my mind I had to draw it immediately.
I love how Stitch looks more like a stuffed animal then Hobbes does.
This is perfect.

Every single BBC headline ârevelationâ about Prince Harry from his new âbombshellâ book has convinced me that no one on earth needs to Get A Fucking Job more than he does.
Though there is an alt-history Hunter Thompson version of him where all of this happened in one day, would see that movie:
someone call daniel radcliffe, I got a role for him
I love this meme because I think humans 10,000 years ago or 100,000 years ago would also like it
I actually read something about this. apparently where you sit does actually affect where the smoke goes.
and if you think about it, it really does make sense.
like the heat radiates out evenly, until it hits an obstruction(you) and what does that obstruction do to the heat? it absorbs some of it, bounces some off, but the point is that thereâs going to be a relatively cold spot past the obstruction.
this whole setup is effectively creating a low pressure zone behind you, and a high pressure zone everywhere but there. which is gonna basically create a light breeze towards you, which is gonna bring the smoke with it

i got the miku ramen. my bf said it is 1) good 2) Nuclear Blue. Like More Blue Than The Color Itself Blue
ill try it later tonight and post a follow-up
ok so. standard rice noodles. unusual for something labeled as ramen, and the powder is just a tinge off-white. i can detect blue.
added boiling water up to the fill line and let it set for 4 minutes.
and
IT IS SO SO FUCKING BLUE . IT IS BLUER THAN THE FUCKING COLOR

Iâm too busy to edit, someone put blue checkmarks in Urza Planeswalkerâs eyes
Ask and ye shall receive.
Flawless. No notes
Snape was a terrible human being as a reaction to a hostile environment that pushed him further and further towards the abyss. You can relate to that, even if you think everything he did was wrong. Umbridge just seemingly did things because doing evil, abusive things tickled her fancy. Nobody can relate to that. Umbridge comes off as more evil because she's barely a person. She's all the bad acts of a dogmatic monster.
There is no evidence that Delores Umbridge didnât suffer an equally traumatic upbringing as Severus Snape or any other villain in the Harry Potter series. For all we know, the environment she grew up in could have been even worse. And lack of information is hardly any excuse.
Consider Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback. We know just about as much about their upbringing as we do about Umbridge. Both of them perform objectively worse actions than Umbridge. Bellatrix gleefully tortures people to the point of insanity, kills children, and carves a slur into the arm of a teenage girl. Fenrir stalks and hunts children, intent to attack and curse them to torment them and prove his power and dominance over them for the rest of their lives.
Neither of these characters gets the same level of hate as Umbridge.
Look, when I say that the revulsion of Umbridge is largely caused by internalized misogyny, stereotypes, and bigotry, Iâm not trying to call anybody out here. The reality is, it took me a long time to take an introspective look and realize that was why I hated the character so much too. And at first I wanted to reject the idea too. I wanted to find some way to justify why I had been right to revoke her so.
But then I realized that I could learn and grow a lot more by being willing to face my own programming and push back against it. I hated Umbridge because the author had given me all the superficial details that were SUPPOSED to trigger those feelings. And in buying into that, I had inadvertently participated in further perpetuating those signals and stereotypes.
I donât want to be part of that cruel and vicious cycle anymore. Itâs harmful, itâs unfair, and itâs dishonest.
And I must not tell lies.
I donât like Umbridge because she represents a bad authority figure, especially within a school setting, something I had to put up with every day for several years. She could be a man and Iâd probably resent him more because thatâs closer to my own personal experiences.Â
OK, but⌠How is that NOT a description of Snape?
I think the community hates umbridge more that bellatrix lestrange or fenrir greyback because we saw umbridge do so many evil things out in the open. we saw her kick out a teacher, enforce a cruel and unusual punishment, and so many other things. and while what lestrange and greyback did are objectively more evil, we end up getting second hand accounts of them, rather than the first hand accounts we see of umbridge. we were forced to confront what umbridge did within the pages of the book so much more up front than either of the other two, and she made it more personal than even the main villain of voldemort because there were so few ways of actually opposing her casual cruelty, and she targeted people, not to kill them or anything, but to ruin careers, both academic and professional, and torture people in a more subtle and cruel way than an unforgivable curse. in fact, fred and george were the first to openly oppose her, and they had to become dropouts to do it.
compared to all of that right in front of you, a second hand account of someone being tortured to insanity just seems so far away, even if youâre confronted with the final result of that torture.
Me: I love Smash! Itâs such a fun PARTY game! :)
Competitive Smash Player Still Using a Gamecube Controller in 2018:
Listen Iâm still pissed that Smash which started as a fun party brawling game got co-opted by a bunch of dick bag âgit gudâ assholes who literally took it and tried to turn it into every other fighting game out there.
I just wanna point out that all the âNo items, stock only, no stage effectsâ crew all are complete trash at the game. Theyâre great at FIGHTING GAMES, but complete Garbage at Smash Bros. Because instead of trying to learn the game, learn to play around the items, learn which stages do what, they just turn it all off (when you first start the game all the items and stage effects are on and you canât turn them off in any of the modes except multiplayer melee).
And then if you do wanna play with items they try to shame you and claim that youâre âruining the gameâ or âcheatingâ because âyou canât win without using items.â Guess what asswipe the intention is to play with the items thatâs why theyâre their in the first place for free with the base game.
Itâs not my fault you had to dumb down the game to succeed cause you donât know how to use the fire flower or metal bunny ears correctly.
if you hate smash competitive, take a look at catherine competitive. yes, the atlas game. the community basically just says âYou see how the game is? thatâs how we do.â
@magicalgirlmindcrank is a filthy HEATHEN!! And is NOT deserving of your respect!

Howâve people been feeling about mtg lately?
Havenât seen any opinions or posts in the past few days. Ive been pretty burnt out. What are people feeling?
Same, kinda burned out.
Sets feel kinda same-ish too. Not like wildly so butâŚ. eh
Thatâs a double edge sword to not making things broken and keeping them consistant.
And also burn out a bit.
Iâm not super excited about our trip to Ravnica so far. The mechanics of the set seem OK, but nothing really splashy, exciting, or surprising. Itâs just kinda⌠another Ravnica set.
The stories have been well-written, but all seem to further illustrate just how bad the social and economic inequality are on Ravnica. Not only does this leave me without a clear reason to root for Team Ravnica in the upcoming conflict with Bolas, but itâs just generally a major downer in a season already filled with plenty of darkness and doldrum.
Each story has been emotionally taxing, and I donât think any of them had a climax with enough payoff to leave me feeling replenished or energized. I donât feel like I read them out of enjoyment, I just didnât want to fall behind.
On top of that, I have no idea whatâs going on with any of the narrative loose threads that have been dangled in front of us over the last several years. I have no idea whatâs going on with Teysa or Tajic. Nothing about Project Lightning Bug or Niv-Mizzet. No mention of Feather or Emmara.
I know theyâre waiting for the third set before they start tying in the Gatewatch and Nicol Bolas and the main storyline, but that feels like a very long wait with a payoff that makes me very nervous. (Iâm still highly skeptical about returning to Magic novels.)
When it comes to playing Magic, that has been pretty stale for me too. The last time I felt genuinely excited to play Magic was the Unstable draft I attended last December. Since then, every game Iâve played has mostly been going through the motions. It doesnât feel surprising or new. It just feels like more of the same.
Having said that, I have absolutely zero intention of âquittingâ Magic. My wife will periodically ask if I want to sell my collection since I play so rarely, but I have no interest in doing that. I still consider myself a Magic player, and a Vorthos. Iâm just not feeling a lot of energy pulling me towards it right now.
So I donât know if âburned outâ is the right term for me. I think more than anything, I just feel a bit âdetachedâ right now, and Iâm waiting for something to help me feel attached and invested again.
guilds of ravnica is actually a decent set mechanics-wise, there are a lot of really good cards in it that are going to see play in multiple formats. In fact, if youâre in the habit of occasionally picking up cards that are currently going for way less than they should be, you arenât just limited to the rare cycle of lands. Cards are severely under-priced from that set right now. In fact, mission briefing, which I expect will become nearly as famous and played nearly as often as snapcaster mage, is only going for $2 on star city, a website known to charge above the average price for cards. Mausoleum secrets, a 2 mana instant speed tutor, is barely above 50 cents on the same website, and there are many such cards in the set.
That said, the set still has problems, and I think the main problem is that wizards is being heavy handed with trying to force standard and draft into certain patterns rather than just making cards.
another issue is the price of standard. there are currently 27 cards that cost $10 or more that are standard legal, and most of them arenât things you would only need one of in a deck you get a playset of two of these cards, and that becomes at least $80 for a deck thatâs going to rotate out eventually, and most of those cards arenât very playable in other formats. Wizards really shouldnât have stopped masterpieces, even if they became mediocre, because as long as they were cards people wanted, boxes would be bought for the chance at a masterpiece, and the market was flooded with standards most played cards, driving the cost of standard down.
I canât speak for the story, though, I havenât followed it since the core set.
I started playing in 2014, and by 2016, I didnât care about standard anymore. when I started, though, I had a lot of fun, I had a temur hydra deck that was so incredibly janky, but still good enough that I managed to top 8 with it. sidisi whip was a crazy top tier deck that self milled to make zombies, then brought the creatures it milled back from the graveyard for a turn, I had a really bad narset taking turns deck that would occasionally pull off miracles and give me 9 extra turns in a row, and one time, I managed to do it, my opponent didnât concede, and we played out the 9 turns, and his morph/manifest deck came out of those turns ahead of mine. I want those stupid, weird, fun things back in standard. instead, commander has been scratching that itch for me.

I like to think most blue planeswalkers are coffee junkies
They are though,
Jace likes milk, Ral like instant, Saheeli uses her aeropress, Ashiok likes mochas, Nicol Bolas is folgers, Teferi doesnât add anything but it is always perfect, Tamiyo likes iced, Narset likes lots of cream and sugar, Sarkhan eats the beans
9 tired blue-walkers sulking around the same coffee machine waiting for it to finish
bolas wants the first cup, but everyone shouts him down and he canât destroy them without also destroying the coffee machine.
Is this Cruella elf Vil? (Source)
this feels simic. I wonder if it was originally meant for the next set, but this set needed it more
