Speaking of Alex Høgh, I'd highly recommend watching the docu about Claus Malmqvist where he plays young Claus and also the show he made called Kald mig far. Yes they're in danish but they come with english subtitles and it's super fun seeing him go from Ivar to Claus to Emil
On Alex Høgh's acting as Ivar:
A lot of people say that his monologue in york or when he leaves his som are the best ones but personally? His final monologue before he dies in Hvitserk's arms is my favorite. You can see (and hear) how strained Høgh's voice was from the screaming and it sells that scene like no other.
Plus the implication of Ivar kinda being a god as he practically puppeteers his fellow men is just peak Vikings.
In an alternate timeline Ivar stayed in Igor's court and then probably married a seeress or something. Someone with *actual* connection to the gods who he could be himself with while probably being the best advisor to Igor there ever was.
How I yearn for this man to have a happy ending that doesn't involve death sigh
