Can you write Manon x autistic!fem reader. Reader has a meltdown cuz of a restaurant being too loud and clothes being itchy?
Never Too Big of a Deal
pairing: manon bannerman x autistic!female reader
warnings: meltdown, fluff
The restaurant was a mistake. You knew it the moment the door opened—clattering plates, people talking over each other, music playing too loud through the speakers.
Your skin already felt wrong in the clothes you were wearing—the tag in your shirt scratching at the back of your neck like sandpaper. You tried to ignore it, you really did, but every noise stacked on top of the next until it felt like your brain was being squeezed.
Manon noticed before anyone else. She always did.
“You okay?” She asked quietly.
You nodded quickly. Too quickly. But the chair under you scraped loudly against the floor and someone laughed at another table and the lights were too bright and immediately yourhands flew up to cover your ears.
“I- I c-can’t…”
Your breathing started coming too fast. Manon stood as soon as it happened, cradling your face gently in her hands as she whispered, “Hey. It’s okay.” Her voice stayed calm as she crouched beside you. “Too loud?”
You nodded, eyes squeezed shut.
“And the clothes?”
Another nod.
She didn’t hesitate, grabbing a hold of your hands with silent permission and pulling you up to your feet. “Let’s go outside.”
Within seconds she guided you out of the restaurant, the cool air hitting your face like relief. The noise disappeared the moment the door shut behind you.
You sat down on the curb, breathing hard. Manon sat beside you. Not touching you yet—just there. Waiting.
After a moment, she opened her mouth to speak softly, “Better?”
“A l-little.” You murmured quietly.
She reached into her bag and pulled out a pair of soft headphones. “Here.”
You slipped them on, the gentle quiet settling your nerves. “Th-thank you.” You let yourself feel safe with the girl, still tensed, but slouching slightly against her shoulder.
Manon shrugged lightly. “Restaurants are overrated anyway.”
You looked up at her. “I-I r-ruined d-dinner…”
Manon shook her head immediately. “Nope.” She stood and held out her hand. “New plan.”
You hesitated before taking it.
“We get takeout.” She suggested, smiling. “And eat somewhere quiet. Like home, where we feel safe and comfortable.”
Your shoulders slowly relaxed. That sounded perfect.
Manon scooped you in her arms, carrying you bridal style, earning a squeal and a giggle from you, which only brought a smile upon her face. The passenger door opened for you and you found yourself being placed down, Manon already buckling your seat belt for you. She kissed your forehead and squeezed your hand for a moment before shutting the door, running to her side of the car.
“Ready, princess?”
Since everything tonight, you smiled genuinely tonight. “Yes, my love.” Your hand found hers and soaked up the peaceful quiet of the drive back home.
RUMOURED GIRLFRIEND
Five times the fans caught on to your relationship with Daniela, and one time you finally gave them the answer they needed.
daniela avanzini x female reader
tags: fluff, katseye member reader, dance studio owner daniela, futch daniela, swapped roles, eyekons being nosy (as always), dani gives her gf the princess treatment, spanish endearment terms, dani wears masc clothes, half smau
warning: suggestive
a/n: consider this as my thank you gift for reaching 1k followers. I love y'all SO SO MUCH! 🫶 I've only been making girlfriend daniela so I wanted to try making boyfriend daniela!
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ NUMBER ONE — THAT AIN'T HER CAP...
You had all just wrapped up for a collaboration with a brand. It was one of the perks of being a group as diverse as KATSEYE. Brands loved using you to showcase how their products from deep lip pigments to shimmering highlighters, complemented a wide spectrum of skin tones and nationalities.
It was a massive win for representation, but it also meant spending hours in photoshoot, having to do multiple poses with the girls while following directions from the photographers and smiling until your jaw aches.
By the time you were all walking out of that company's building, your own makeup had already been wiped clean. You looked quite tired now, wearing an earth-toned cap that had the words “GOD’S FAVORITE” printed on the front. You had swiped it from Daniela's rack that morning before you left her house to continue doing your job as an idol.
Oh, how you wish that you could just stay in Daniela's bed all morning, though. Being an idol and making a name for yourself all around the world had been your dream, but the cons of having to be away from your girlfriend all the time was torture itself.
You slowly lifted your eyes from your phone and looked toward the tall glass doors at the main entrance. Through the clear panels, you could already see a large crowd waiting outside.
You weren’t surprised at all. Fans were lined up behind the metal barricades, standing close together, some on their tiptoes, all hoping to see you and the others in person. Even from inside, you could hear their excited voices faintly.
The security guards stepped out first, scanning the area and making sure everything was safe before guiding you all toward the van. The moment the doors opened wider, the noise grew louder.
“Oh my gosh! It’s actually them!”
“Lara, you’re fricking hot!”
“Can I get an autograph please?!”
You slipped your phone back into your pocket and gave the fans a warm smile. It was obvious they had been waiting for a long time just to catch a short glimpse of you. You couldn’t just walk past them without showing some love back. You cared about the eyekons too much to ignore their effort.
It looked like the others had the same idea. Sophia walked closer to the barricade, chatting with fans. Manon blew playful kisses into the crowd, making people scream even louder. Megan and Lara were already signing a few albums and papers. Meanwhile, Yoonchae had run to the other side of the barricade while security hurried after her, trying to keep things under control.
You glanced at your manager. She hesitated for a second before giving you a small, reluctant nod. Taking that as your signal, you stepped toward the barricade. The crowd immediately erupted, hands reaching out with their phone cameras flashing in every direction.
“Y/N! You did so well today!”
“Thank you! That’s so sweet of you!” you called back. Your voice was slightly scratchy from the schedule, but you still made it sound bright and cheerful. You moved along the line, trying your best to give a few seconds to as many people as possible.
You took a fan’s phone and snapped a quick selfie, knowing it would probably be posted online within seconds. Another fan handed you a letter, and you carefully tucked it under your arm so it wouldn’t fall.
Everywhere you turned, it was filled with “I love you!” and “Please take care of yourself!” The energy was overwhelming but in a good way. You felt appreciated, even protected by their words.
Then, halfway through, a fan in the very front leaned forward. Her eyes were wide with excitement as she held out a thick permanent marker.
“Y/N, please! Can you sign my boobs?” she asked breathlessly, pointing at the top of her tank top.
You blinked in surprise. You definitely didn’t expect that. Someone nearby was clearly recording, and your shocked face would probably be clipped and shared everywhere. You let out a startled laugh, half amused and half caught off guard.
“Sure, why not?” you replied with a playful grin.
You carefully took the marker from her hand. Leaning in, you placed one hand gently on her shoulder to steady her, which only made the surrounding fans scream louder.
Then you signed your name in bold black ink across the fabric. When you pulled back, you gave her a quick wink and a thumbs up.
“There you go. Don’t wash it,” you joked.
She immediately turned bright red, squealing loudly like she had just experienced the happiest moment of her life.
As much as you wanted to keep interacting, Missy and the security team were already signaling that it was time to move. You were only supposed to pass by quickly, and staying longer could make things harder to manage.
Reluctantly, you blew a few kisses toward the crowd and called out rushed words of thanks, expressing how grateful you were for their support. A security guard guided you toward the open van.
Before stepping fully inside, you adjusted Daniela’s cap on your head. You pulled the brim lower to shield your eyes from the blinding flashes of cameras.
As you did, you caught the faint, familiar scent of your girlfriend’s shampoo. The soft smell wrapped around you like comfort, calming your racing heart.
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ NUMBER TWO — LA RAMS
One thing you were absolutely sure about was this: Daniela was the most supportive lover anyone could ever ask for. She cheered for you the loudest, stood by you the firmest, and never once made you feel alone.
But at the same time, whenever she wasn’t close to you, she would look almost pitiful, like a lost child who couldn’t find her way home.
It was honestly a little adorable. If it meant being near you, trust that this woman would drop everything without hesitation.
You both first met in Atlanta. That was where everything started where you and Daniela's feelings grew. But when she found out you had to move to Los Angeles to chase your career, she didn’t even blink.
There was no long debate or any of those dramatic hesitation. Daniela simply decided she was coming too. She transferred her dance studio, packed her life up, and moved to LA just so she could stay close to you. Just like that.
Her dedication didn’t stop there. She showed up everywhere. Events where Katseye was invited? She was there. After tours when you were tired and worn out? She was waiting. It didn’t matter how busy she was. If you were somewhere, Daniela somehow found her way there too. She made sure the world knew she loved you.
So of course, when you and the girls were invited to attend the LA Rams game, getting to watch the American football match and even take pictures with the cheerleaders, Daniela was right there as your plus one.
“Dani, stop it,” you giggled softly, your arms wrapped loosely around her neck as you sat comfortably on her lap inside the car.
You were wearing a dark-colored skirt, an LA Rams cap that matched hers, and her blue jersey draped over your frame. Meanwhile, Daniela clearly couldn’t keep her hands to herself. She had been pulling you closer and pressing soft kisses along your neck, leaving playful nibbles that made you squirm.
“Hm,” she hummed against your skin, her lips brushing over your pulse point. The feeling made you bite your lip to hold back a sound. “Lo siento, no puedo evitarlo. How am I supposed to pull away when my princess looks this pretty? So fuckin’ beautiful for me.”
You rolled your eyes fondly, though your smile gave you away. “The others are waiting, Dani. This is exactly why the company barely trusts you to drive me around. They think you’re a bad influence because I always end up late.”
Daniela lifted one brow, pretending to look serious. “But you still get there safely, don’t you?”
“That’s not the point,” you whispered, pulling back slightly so you could look at her properly.
Your fingers traced the sharp line of her jaw, then moved up to adjust the brim of her Rams cap. You let your eyes travel down her figure slowly.
“You know,” you added casually, “you look really handsome today. Especially in those jogging pants.”
Your gaze dropped shamelessly to where her Calvin Kleins were visible, then slid back up to meet her eyes.
“I wish you know just how much I want to stay in this car with you.”
You watched the effect of your words happen instantly. Daniela’s pupils dilated as her breath caught slightly, gaze moving to your lips without thinking. Her hands tightened around your waist, her control slipping just a little under your praise.
Then she leaned in, her nose brushing softly against yours.
If she was already affected by how you looked, your compliment pushed her over the edge. You knew exactly what you were doing. Daniela loved being praised, especially by you.
“Then why let anything stop you?” she murmured, her hand sliding from your waist to the back of your neck. “If I’m such a bad influence, maybe I should give them a real reason to be mad.”
Her lips hovered so close to yours, ready to close the distance, but you were quicker. With a playful smirk, you reached behind you and pushed open the passenger door.
A soft breeze rushed into the car, cooling the heated air inside. In one smooth motion, you slipped off her lap and stepped out of the Mustang before she could react.
“Hey!” she whined, reaching out for you but grabbing nothing but air. “That ain’t fair. Come back here!”
You laughed lightly, smoothing down your skirt and adjusting her jersey over your body.
“No thank you, handsome,” you teased sweetly.
You glanced back at her and saw her sitting there with her arms crossed, pouting like a grumpy child. She looked both annoyed and adorable at the same time.
You had to press your lips together to stop yourself from laughing again.
In the end, no matter how playful she had been earlier, Daniela still remembered why you were both here in the first place. With a quiet sigh, she pulled the car keys out of the ignition and stepped out, locking her car with a soft beep from the tiny remote.
You adjusted the blue and white cap on your head, tilting it slightly as you checked your reflection in the car window. You pressed your lips together, making sure your lip gloss didn’t look too shiny or obvious under the sunlight.
“So,” Daniela began casually, her hands sliding into her pockets as she took in the massive stadium towering in front of you. Her eyes scanned the area like she was already planning the route. “Do you know where the main entrance is?”
“Mhm. The manager gave us directions.”
Before you could even touch the door, Daniela stepped ahead and pulled it open for you. You paused for a second, glancing at her with a soft, flattered look.
“Thank you,” you whispered softly before walking inside together.
The blast of cool air from the air conditioner immediately wrapped around you. It was a welcome relief from the heavy heat outside, feeling refreshing against your skin. After showing your access passes and being allowed further inside, you both made your way down a busy corridor filled with staff, guests, and chatter.
Daniela’s hand hovered just behind your back. She wasn’t fully touching you since she was careful, as always, and to avoid rumors, but her presence was still there, being protective without being obvious. Grounding, too. She guided you through the crowd naturally, her curls falling freely around her face today.
You stole another glance at her. She really did look handsome. The ripped jogging pants, the slight peek of her Calvin Klein waistband above the hem all suited her too well. You swallowed quietly, a mischievous thought crossing your mind.
Would it really be that impossible to drag her into the women’s restroom for just a few minutes? The game hadn’t even started yet, after all…
“Careful,” she whispered suddenly.
You blinked at her, confused by how alert she looked. She seemed extra aware of every person passing by.
You scoffed lightly, shaking your head. “If you keep being this caring, we might not even make it to the stadium before the game starts.”
Now it was Daniela’s turn to look at you. She froze for half a second, clearly caught off guard, before a slow smile spread across her lips. A faint blush crept onto her cheeks.
“Well… that’s tempting,” she admitted softly.
Before you could respond, a voice rang out over the noise.
“Wait. Is that Y/N?! From Katseye?!”
A group of teenagers nearby stopped walking. Their eyes widened as recognition hit. You barely had time to react before one of them rushed forward, phone already raised for a quick selfie.
“Y/N! Just one picture, please!”
Before the fan could step too close, Daniela immediately moved between you. She didn’t shove anyone or raise her voice. She simply positioned herself in front of you calmly while her body blocked the path.
“Hey, sorry guys,” Daniela said lowly. “She’s just trying to get to her team before the game starts. Let’s respect her space, yeah? Maybe later.”
The fan blinked, clearly surprised. They looked confused, probably unsure who Daniela was. For a second, you felt a flicker of worry about how this might look online later.
But the group stepped back anyway, muttering soft “sorry” and “good luck” as they created space for you to pass.
Daniela didn’t even glance back at them. Her focus stayed on you. Her hand hovered near your waist again as she guided you through the small opening she had created.
“You okay?” she murmured, leaning just close enough for you to catch that familiar woodsy scent.
“Yeah,” you whispered back, looking up at her with genuine gratitude. This time, your smile was softer. “My hero.”
Once the nickname hit her, the serious expression melted on her face as her eyes softened. The protectiveness in her posture seemed to have relaxed just a little under your affection.
A cheeky grin appeared on her lips, her dimples showing proudly. She looked way too pleased with herself for making you react like that, and honestly, she deserved it.
“No problem, mami. I’m not gonna lie… I actually feel a little nervous meeting your friends.”
“Nervous?” you repeated, staring at her in confusion. “You’ve met them so many times already.”
“I mean… yeah, I have,” she admitted, her smile slowly turning into a small pout. “But that's cause it's different since this is gonna be more… public.”
You understood what she meant immediately. This wasn’t just a casual visit backstage or a quiet dinner. This was out in the open. Cameras, people…eyes everywhere.
Without thinking twice, you reached for her hand and intertwined your fingers with hers with a firm and warm grip. So what if people saw you holding hands with a woman? You held hands with your members all the time. Most people would just assume it was normal friendship. That was common enough.
Well… except for the small detail that you were wearing her blue jacket.
Thankfully, she hadn’t posted about it anywhere yet. No proof online and no connections to make.
Not like that time you accidentally got caught wearing her cap.
“They’re chill, Dani. Seriously,” you reassured her with a gentle smile. You squeezed her hand lightly, and you could feel her fingers tighten around yours in response. “They support you. Like, fully. They always talk about how talented you are.”
Her cheeks turned pink.
“They literally said you should’ve debuted with us in Katseye.”
Daniela’s eyes widened at that, and she quickly shook her head. “And go through that survival show with you? No thanks.”
She gave you a look like the idea was completely ridiculous. She would never risk something like that. Such as the stress, the pressure, and the possible misunderstandings. Anything that could hurt your relationship.
She loved you far too much to gamble with it.
Before you could say anything else, the heavy double doors of the arena opened wide. The distant roar of the crowd blended with upbeat music from the sidelines. It looks like the energy seemed to have changed immediately.
You felt it in Daniela too as her shoulders relaxed slightly when she spotted familiar faces ahead.
“Look who finally showed up!” Manon called out loudly, her voice cutting through the noise. She leaned casually against the wall in her custom jersey, effortlessly cool.
“I was starting to think the game was about to begin without you,” Sophia teased, walking up to give you a quick hug. Then she turned to Daniela and gave her a polite nod. “Good to see you, Dani. Thanks for bringing her here safely.”
Daniela gave a small nod back, her hand still loosely holding yours.
“Oh my god,” Megan suddenly squealed as she rushed over toward Daniela, who instinctively stepped back slightly while looking surprised by the sudden burst of energy.
“I can’t believe Y/N actually brought you here!” Megan continued excitedly. “Have I told you I’m a huge fan? Like- how do you even do those Latin ballroom dances? It’s so cool.”
Daniela blinked in surprise, clearly caught off guard, while you stood beside her trying your best not to laugh at her reaction. You glanced to your left, and she offered you a small, sheepish smile.
She still looked a little stunned by Megan’s sudden burst of excitement and energy, like she hadn’t expected to be welcomed that loudly.
Letting out a resigned sigh, you turned your attention to Megan with a flat expression, though it wasn’t serious at all. This time, you were the one stepping in to save Daniela.
“More than she can count, actually,” you replied dryly. “And calm down, Megan. She’s here for me.”
“Wow. Protective much?” Lara teased immediately, a mischievous smirk spreading across her face as her gaze bounced between you and Daniela.
She had clearly been about to snap a harmless picture, but after noticing your tone, she slipped her phone back into her pocket with a playful grin.
“Okay, first of all,” Lara continued dramatically, pulling her phone out again and waving it around, “this lighting is way too good so we need a group photo. But you both look way too good today, so can I borrow your Dani for a quick shot? For the memories.”
The second the word “borrow” left her mouth, your smile disappeared for just a second.
Manon caught it immediately and had to turn away to hide her laugh. Yoonchae looked confused at first, blinking between all of you, until she heard a fan call her name. Her eyes instantly lit up, and she waved brightly toward the stands.
“Relax, Miss Possessive,” Sophia chimed in, grinning from ear to ear. “She’s all yours anyway.”
Your face flushed pink at the teasing, and you exhaled deeply before reaching over to take the phone from Lara.
“I’m not jealous,” you muttered defensively. “I obviously know what she meant.”
Daniela, meanwhile, seemed completely focused on the task at hand.
“So how do we do it? What pose?” she asked seriously, placing both hands on her hips like she was preparing for a dance routine.
She had no idea you had already pointed the camera at her, capturing her focused expression. You were too busy staring at her through the phone screen anyway, quietly admiring how good she looked.
“Easy,” Lara said confidently, stepping beside Daniela. “We give the fans something to fawn over.”
She lifted both arms into a playful muscle pose. “Do this. Same as me.”
“Oh. Okay,” Daniela replied without hesitation.
She mirrored Lara’s pose instantly, raising her arms the same way and facing the camera you were holding. After a small shuffle, Lara pressed lightly against Daniela’s side so they matched perfectly.
When you looked through the screen, you almost forgot to breathe. Daniela lifted her chin slightly, her expression looking confident. She looked strong and intimidating. So ridiculously attractive.
You swallowed, pretending to focus on framing the shot properly.
“Ready?” you asked, though your voice came out a little softer than you intended.
And honestly, with how good she looked standing there, you were starting to understand why Lara wanted that photo for the “memories.”
Yeah. You were definitely giving her the coochie tonight.
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ NUMBER THREE — A VERY SPECIAL "FRIEND"
Despite the small invasions of privacy that came with it, there were definitely good sides to introducing Daniela to the Eyekons.
A lot of fans would leave sweet comments about her. They would talk about how good you both looked together, how well you matched, and how “perfect” you’d be if you ever actually dated. Those comments always made you giggle quietly to yourself, because little did they know that you were already dating her.
Some fans even went as far as creating fan accounts dedicated to her. They used her Instagram pictures as their profile photos and edited cute clips of the two of you together. It was both amusing and oddly heartwarming to see.
When you once asked Daniela how she felt about all that attention, she had simply shrugged at first. But you could tell she didn’t hate it. In fact, it gave her a small confidence boost.
Whenever she scrolled through social media, she often saw her name mentioned next to yours on Twitter and TikTok. Seeing fans talk about her positively made her feel appreciated in a way she hadn’t expected.
Still, she never tried to take advantage of it.
Daniela would never use you for fame. The idea alone felt insulting. Yet there were still fans online who liked to assume she must be with you for clout. That she was “using” you to gain attention.
You knew that wasn’t true. You knew her heart better than anyone.
There were so many times you felt tempted to log into a random burner account just to argue back and defend her. You wanted to tell those people they were wrong. That they had no idea what they were talking about.
But in the end, you held back. What mattered more was that the majority of fans supported her. They welcomed her warmly as your friend, or rumored girlfriend, and some even became her fans too. She was gaining her own supporters, people who admired her talent and personality.
And honestly, she deserved every bit of that love.
At the end of the day, Daniela treated you so well. She loved you openly, supported you endlessly, and never once made you doubt her intentions. If anyone deserved to gain recognition and success too, it was her. Especially when she was the very reason your dancing improved so much in the first place. She inspired you constantly.
Daniela having her own fans meant that every now and then, edits of her would randomly pop up on your TikTok for you page. Sometimes they were simple clips of her dancing. Other times, they were dramatic slow-motion edits with music that made her look even more unreal than she already did.
Every time one appeared, you had to fight the strong urge to heart it.
But the company had made it clear. No unnecessary interactions that could spark rumors. So instead, you would quietly save those edits on your private account, watching them later and secretly fangirling over your own girlfriend like a proud supporter.
However, this time was different.
You were in the middle of a Weverse live with Manon and Lara when an edit of your future wife suddenly appeared on your for you page. And not just any edit. The creator had chosen dangerously attractive clips and pictures. The kind of edit that would make anyone stare a little too long.
Which was exactly what you were doing right now.
“Wait… why are you on your phone the whole time?” Lara asked, tilting her head in confusion.
You swallowed nervously.
Before you could think twice, your thumb had already tapped the heart button.
If the Eyekons were thirsting over Daniela because of that edit, then it definitely had the same effect on you.
Surely the fans wouldn’t overthink it, right? They would probably just assume you were being supportive. Just a good friend hyping another talented friend.
But before you could quickly exit the app and focus on the live again, Manon leaned over just enough to sneak a glance at your screen.
Your first instinct was to pull your phone away. But that would look way too suspicious.
So you froze and just… let it happen.
Manon straightened up slowly after seeing what was on your screen. Then she made direct eye contact with you.
You gave her a tight smile, your eyes clearly sending a silent warning: don’t.
Unfortunately, that only made her more amused.
“Oh...”
The single word slipped from her lips, and thousands of Eyekons were watching.
Her smile widened mischievously as she turned to face Lara’s phone, which was recording the three of you.
“By the way,” Manon began casually, leaning closer to read the fast-moving comments, “have we told you guys yet? That we’re going to Atlanta to perform?”
Your stomach dropped for a second.
But then the mention of Atlanta, Daniela’s hometown, made something warm bloom inside your chest. You couldn’t help the genuine grin that spread across your face.
“Yeah, guys,” you added smoothly, finally facing the camera properly. “It’s actually one of the cities I’ve been really looking forward to for our Beautiful Chaos tour.”
“Wow, really?” Manon replied, her tone overly innocent. She didn’t even try to act surprised. She already knew exactly why. “I wonder why.”
You could practically see the realization click in Lara’s head. She was quick like that. Her grin slowly stretched as she glanced at you, then back at the screen.
“Oh, we know one of those reasons is seeing your friend,” she drawled, clearly emphasizing that last word.
Heat rushed straight to your face.
Great.
Now the comment section was exploding faster than ever. You could already see Daniela’s name being typed repeatedly in the chat. Manon let out a quiet chuckle as the three of you watched the flood of comments roll in.
None of you confirmed anything, but you didn’t deny it either. That part was up to them to guess.
“Yeah… obviously,” you said with a sheepish smile, finally placing your phone down beside you. “Anyone would be excited to see a friend, especially with how busy we’ve been lately.”
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ NUMBER FOUR — YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN
The trip to Atlanta only made everything worse. It added more excitement and more whispers from fans. It felt like pouring oil into a fire that was already burning bright.
This time, Daniela was watching you perform in her hometown. But not just any performance. This was your very first tour as Katseye. Your first real tour. It honestly felt like a dream turning into reality right in front of everyone’s eyes.
As your partner, she was given front row seats. It was enough to see every expression on your face. Close enough to notice the smallest movements of your hands, the way your chest rose and fell as you caught your breath between lines.
She had the perfect, clear view of you on the stage while you were singing, dancing, and glowing with confidence.
What the fans didn’t know was that Daniela wasn’t just sitting there as your girlfriend. Behind closed doors, she was also your dance teacher.
Even though you and the girls trained nonstop, Daniela would still help you practice when it was just the two of you. Late nights in hee living room and music playing softly from a speaker. Her hands gently guide your waist to correct your posture. Her voice calmly explained what looked stronger, what felt smoother, what should be best on stage.
She helped you polish your movements and reminded you when to hold back and when to go all out.
So now, watching you perform moves she had personally helped you perfect made her lips curve into a proud, smug smile. She didn’t care if people looked at her, nor did she care if cameras caught her screaming.
She just cheered loudly, louder than most of the fans around her. She waved her Katseye lightstick like she was fighting in a battle, being fully invested and completely lost in the moment.
“Have you heard this song before?” she asked the guy standing next to her, her happiness glowing brightly on her face as “Gabriela” blasted through the speakers. You and the members were performing it live with powerful voices and dance moves.
“I mean, of course you have. You’re a fan, right?” she continued quickly, barely waiting for his answer. “This is my favorite song!”
The Latina was practically in her own world. The man beside her, slightly startled by her high-octane energy, nodded frantically as he clutched his own lightstick. "Yeah, yeah! It's a banger!"
"A banger? It’s a masterpiece!" Daniela laughed, her curls bouncing as she turned her focus back to the stage.
Right then, you were moving into the center for your killing part. The lights on the stage caught the sweat on your skin, making you look like a literal deity under the rafters. As you hit the move Daniela had helped you perfect in her apartment just a few nights ago, your eyes scanned the front row.
When you found her, you didn't break character. But as you transitioned into the next move, you let a tiny, knowing grin tug at the corner of your lips. A private "I love you" sent directly to the woman who was currently losing her mind in the front row.
Daniela felt her heart do a backflip. She bit her lip, trying to contain the massive, stupidly in love smile that threatened to take over her face. She looked away for a second to catch her breath, but as she did, she realized the girl on her other side wasn't looking at the stage anymore. She was looking at her.
"Wait... oh my god," the fan whispered, her eyes darting between Daniela and the stage. "You’re Daniela, right? Daniela Avanzini from America's Got Talent?"
Daniela’s smile flickered, turning into something a bit more guarded.
"Uhm, yeah? That's me," she said, trying to keep her tone casual.
The fan leaned in, her voice dropping but her excitement rising. "Are the rumors true? Are you actually Y/N’s girlfriend?"
The question felt like a bucket of cold water. Her smile wavered, that composure nearly slipping. This was the line they weren't supposed to cross yet, and why would a fan suddenly ask something out of the blue like that in the middle of the concert?
"Oh, nah,” she lied, though her heart wasn't really in it. "We’re just-"
"I knew it!" the fan interrupted, not even waiting for the denial as she shoved her phone forward. "I mean, it’s so obvious by the way you look at her! Who's your bias in the group? Who’s your favorite? It's gotta be Y/N, right?”
Daniela didn't even have to think, because the fan just said the answer she would already say. She didn't look at Sophia, Megan, Yoonchae, Manon, or Lara. She looked back at the stage, where you were currently finishing the choreography with a fierce and breathless pose.
"My favorite?" Daniela’s voice returned to that low, smooth rasp. She pointed a single finger directly at you. “Yeah! Of course it’s Y/N. It’s always been her. No competition."
The fan squealed, the answer clearly confirming everything she already suspected. "I knew it! Can I- can I get a selfie? Please? You’re like a celebrity to us now too!"
Daniela was a bit startled, her eyes widening as she looked at the phone held up to her face. She wasn't used to being the one in the frame, but seeing the genuine joy on the fan's face, she couldn't say no.
So what she did was lower her hoodie which showed her hair more freely, threw up a peace sign, and gave the camera a wink.
"Sure, let’s do it. But make it quick, please," Daniela teased, leaning into the shot. "I don't wanna miss her part in Gabriela."
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ NUMBER FIVE — DANI'S PASSENGER PRINCESS
Several weeks had gone by, and somehow the fans had already decided that Daniela was your girlfriend. There was still no official confirmation, no clear announcement, yet the internet had connected its own dots.
Edits, theories, comments…everyone seemed so sure of it already.
You didn’t even know when you would finally get the right moment to tell the world the truth. Part of you was tired of always hiding and tired of acting careful. You wanted to hold her hand without thinking. To smile at her openly without worrying about cameras.
But for now, all you cared about was this moment of peace after an exhausting day.
You had just finished performing at Lollapalooza. Interviews followed right after, one after another with endless questions. Your body was tired, but your nerves were still buzzing with leftover adrenaline from standing in front of thousands of people.
Your heart hasn't fully calmed down yet.
Being in the car with Daniela helped.
You were sitting in the passenger seat now, no longer in your flashy stage outfit. Instead, you had changed into a simple white shirt and comfortable jean shorts. You stared out the window, watching the city lights blur past.
“I made a mistake with my footing,” you muttered almost to yourself. Your voice carried a hint of frustration. “I feel like I didn’t give as much as I wanted to, Dani.”
“Are you serious?” Daniela replied immediately, disbelief clear in her tone.
Her eyes stayed focused on the road as she turned the steering wheel with one hand. The other rested gently on your thigh, warm and steady.
“You did amazing, mi amor. I was literally screaming so loud my throat hurts.”
Hearing that made your shoulders loosen slightly. You turned your head just enough to look at her from the corner of your eyes. There was a small spark of hope in your gaze, like you were searching her face for any sign that she might just be saying that to comfort you.
“You really think so?” you asked softly.
Daniela didn’t answer right away. She was busy carefully parking the Mustang into a tight space near the edge of the park. The engine finally quieted as she shifted the car into park.
Only then did she fully turn to face you.
Her hand never left your thigh. Instead, she gave it a gentle squeeze.
“I don’t think so,” she said softly, her voice warm and certain. “I know so.”
Your cheeks turned pink at how serious she sounded.
“I’ve watched you practice that routine at least a hundred times,” she continued. “Trust me. No one noticed that tiny footing mistake except you. You’re your own worst critic.”
She smiled a little.
“I’m pretty sure there are already fancams of you all over TikTok right now. And I promise you, nobody in those videos is thinking about your foot. They’re thinking about how good you looked up there.”
The calmness and certainty in the way she said it made the anxious thoughts in your head slowly fade. And once again, she comforted you without even trying.
You scoffed softly, your shoulders easing more as you smiled genuinely. You placed a hand over her hand that stayed on your thigh, whispering softly. “Thank you, Dani.”
There was a flicker in her expression, the kind of softness she always has for you. She can't help but smile more. “You’re welcome. I mean it.”
She let her eyes wander over you then, her eyes narrowing as she took in your outfit. She noticed the way the white shirt clung to you and how the jean shorts, which were admittedly a bit daring, highlighted your legs. Her touch grew a little heavier, a possessive edge creeping into her expression.
“Besides,” she added, a playful but possessive smirk tugging at her lips, “you looked incredible. The fans were losing their minds.”
She didn't pull her hand away from your thigh as her thumb traced slow circles against your skin.
“Maybe too incredible,” she added, before her jaw tightened slightly as she released a small huff of breath. “Though, if I’m being real... I wasn’t exactly a fan of how much your butt was showing when you did that floor move. Having ten thousand people stare at what’s mine was not my favorite part of the day.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is the professional choreographer giving me a fashion critique now?”
Daniela let out a short laugh, her hand sliding from your thigh then up to your waist, pulling you just a fraction closer across the center console. “Not a critique, baby. You still look beautiful as ever.”
She proceeded to pull the Red Mustang into a quiet, shaded parking spot near the edge of the park. After killing the engine, she turned to look at you fully, her eyes softening.
“But I do know how to make you feel better. Remember that little hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop we used to sneak into back in Atlanta? The one with the homemade peach crumble?”
Your eyes lit up. “The one where we almost got caught by your dad?”
“That’s the one,” she chuckled. “There’s a spot just two blocks from here that tastes exactly like home. My treat. Go get us a table in the back corner, and I’ll grab the orders. Double scoop of your favorite?”
You nodded eagerly, leaning over to plant a quick, sweet kiss on her cheek before sliding out of the car. The sunlight kissed your skin as you walked toward the shop, feeling lighter than you had all day.
Daniela watched you walk away through the windshield, a soft, mesmerized smile on her face. She reached for her phone, which was sitting in the center console.
Usually, she was the one avoiding the cameras, but seeing you skipping toward the shop, looking so happy, so relaxed, and so hers, was a sight she couldn't just let go of.
So, without saying anything, she lifted the phone, framed the shot of her hand lingering on the steering wheel then snapped a picture. The back of her hand was clearly showing off your initial as her tattoo.
ִ ࣪𖤐.ᐟ HARD LAUNCH
The date on the calendar stood out clearly in your mind.
February 14th. Valentine’s Day.
If you were being honest, your schedule had been fairly calm after the collaboration with Erewhon and promoting their smoothies. There wasn’t much left to do. Meanwhile, your friends were fully enjoying the day. Lara was spending it with her partner, Main was doing the same, and Sophia, Megan, and Yoonchae chose to celebrate with family and close friends.
A sweet, simple kind of Valentine’s Day. The kind filled with love in all its forms.
Still… you were waiting for your own Valentine.
You stood outside the building, hands tucked deep into the pockets of your leggings, shifting your weight from one foot to the other. Daniela was usually the one who picked you up whenever she was in the same country and you weren’t flying somewhere else to promote Katseye’s music. She liked being the one to drive you home.
But when you glanced down at your watch, you noticed something unusual.
She was late.
Not by a few seconds. Not even by a couple of minutes.
Ten whole minutes.
You looked up and down the street, scanning every passing car for a familiar red Mustang. A small, uneasy thought began to grow in your chest.
Did she forget? Was she stuck somewhere? For a second, you almost gave in to the worry. You were already preparing to reach into your purse to grab your phone and book a cab instead.
But when you finally spotted the familiar red car turned the corner, your entire face brightened with instant relief. You didn’t even realize how tense you had been until that moment.
You stood there, smiling softly as the Mustang approached. But instead of pulling up directly in front of you, it slowed down and stopped a short distance away.
Your smile shifted into confusion.
Did she not see you?
You adjusted the strap of your gym bag on your shoulder and prepared to jog toward the car anyway. But just as you were about to move, the driver’s door opened.
Daniela stepped out, your quick steps slowed into a walk…until you completely stopped.
Oh?
The cool February air brushed against your cheeks, but as you saw her from afar, you forgot about the cold entirely.
She looked unbelievably good.
She wore a bright yellow Adidas track jacket zipped all the way up to her chin, the bold black stripes running down her sleeves. The sporty jacket was paired in an unexpected way with oversized camouflage cargo pants that hung loosely around her legs, the fabric falling over a pair of sleek black open-toed heels.
Her hair was pulled back into a clean, center-parted bun, neat and elegant, with sunglasses resting casually on top of her head. Her cheeks were slightly pink, likely from rushing over.
Now, all you could do was stare.
As soon as her eyes landed on you, her expression changed from frantic to completely soft. Daniela jogged across the asphalt, her heels scuffing the ground as she reached you in seconds.
"I’m sorry. Oh my god- I am so sorry," she panted. She reached out her hands that still smelled faintly like the wooden floor in her dance studio, and touched your waist. "The last session ran over, and the traffic near the studio was a nightmare. I hate that I kept you waiting."
You let out a soft laugh, the small bit of disappointment you’d felt minutes ago melting away as you looked at her, down then up because wow, she never failed to impress you with her fits that you can't help but silently check her out with your own eyes eight now.
"Dani, breathe. It’s only ten minutes. I’m just glad you’re here."
She leaned down, pressing an apologetic kiss to your cheek. "I’ll make it up to you, I promise. Come on, let’s get out of the cold."
She guided you toward the passenger side, her hand resting protectively on the small of your back. As she reached for the handle, she seemed to hesitate for a split second, a rare flash of shyness crossing her features.
She cleared her throat, avoiding your gaze as she pulled the door open for you.
"I, uh... I didn't have time to wrap everything perfectly," she muttered, rubbing the back of her neck. “Didn't want to keep you waiting too much, so…”
The moment the door swung open, your breath hitched. The passenger seat was almost entirely buried. An overflowing bouquet of flowers sat right in the center, their scent filling the car's interior. Tucked beside them were sleek gift bags and a smaller, velvet box that made your heart do a frantic skip.
You turned back to her, stunned. "...You said you were coming from work."
"I was," she said, a small, sheepish smirk playing on her lips as she leaned against the car door, watching your reaction. "But I made a few stops this morning before the studio. I told you, didn't I? Nobody celebrates my girl better than me."
She looked so breathtakingly beautiful that it made your heart ache in the best way. The thought of keeping this a secret suddenly felt impossible. It felt straight up unfair.
If Manon and Lara could teasingly show their love on Valentine’s Day, then why couldn’t you? Why did you still have to hide something that felt this strong and obvious?
You bit the inside of your cheek, trying to hold back the wide, slightly silly smile that was threatening to take over your face. But you couldn’t stop yourself.
You stepped forward and wrapped your arms tightly around her neck, pulling her down into a kiss without any hesitation. Daniela didn’t pause for even a second. She kissed you back immediately, just as eager, just as certain.
Her arms slid around your waist, pulling you closer against her body before she gently shifted to clear space near the passenger seat for you. Even through her jacket, you could feel the firm outline of her muscles beneath your hands. Her smile deepened into something softer, sweeter.
“You’re actually insane,” you spoke softly against her lips, your voice barely above a whisper. Your heart was beating so loudly it felt like it had its own rhythm that only she knew how to control.
You leaned back slightly, just enough to look at her properly. Her eyes crinkled at the corners, filled with pure warmth and affection.
“It must’ve been such a long, exhausting day for you,” you continued gently. “And you still managed to do all of this?”
Daniela’s hands moved from your waist to cradle your face, her palms warm against your cheeks. Her thumbs brushed slowly over your cheekbones in a soothing motion. As always, she looked at you as if nothing else in the busy world around you mattered.
“For you?” she replied tenderly. “I’d drive through a hurricane.”
She rested her forehead against yours, letting the moment linger for just a second longer.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, mami.”
Your chest felt so full of emotion it almost hurt. The love, the gratitude, and the disbelief was overwhelming in the most beautiful way.
You glanced over at the Mustang, noticing the back seat filled with flowers and carefully arranged gifts waiting for you.
“Wait,” you said suddenly, laughing softly. “I need to take a picture of this.”
You quickly pulled your phone out of your purse, your fingers shaking slightly from excitement. Daniela stepped back to give you space, resting one elbow casually on the roof of the car as she watched you with an amused, affectionate expression, clearly enjoying how happy you were.
You started snapping photos, the Valentine's gifts being taken from several angles. In the corner of your screen, you caught Daniela's reflection in the window. She wasn't looking at the camera or the gifts. She was just leaning there, a lopsided, lovestruck grin on her face, watching you gush over her surprise.
She looked so incredibly proud, so entirely whipped for you.
"Why are you staring like that? You're making me blush," you giggled, noticing her intense gaze through the lens.
"It's just that you get this little sparkle in your eyes when you're happy," she laughed despite herself, shaking her head. "It's gotta be my favorite thing in the world."
She reached over and gently took the phone from your hand, tossing it onto the driver's seat before pulling you back into the circle of her arms.
"All of these aren't going anywhere," she whispered, her nose brushing yours. "But the reservation I made definitely will. I’m taking you out tonight, baby. My treat, obviously."
She gave your hip a playful squeeze before walking you around to the passenger side, tucking you into the car amidst the scent of roses.

The afternoon bell rang signalling the end of class. Yoonchae and her best friend packed up before leaving. They had practice, both of them in separate fields. While you were a part of the basketball team, Yoonchae was a cheerleader. She was a transfer student a year ago and your introverted nature bonded with hers. There was just a level of understanding that existed between you two without words having to be said.
“What time does your practice end, Chip?” You asked, changing into your uniform. Yoonchae had her back turned to you but she still felt heat creep up her neck. Was it from the temperature or something else?
“I think it's 4 o' clock. Why do you want to know?”
“So I could pick you up. I wouldn't feel at ease if I left school and you're still here.”
Yoonchae couldn't help but smile. You were so thoughtful and kind. She was glad that you were her friend but sometimes, a very strong nauseating feeling came over her when you did certain things- like laughing at her stupid jokes, offering to walk her to class, sharing your umbrella with her. She thought it was just what friends do, even though she realised none of her other friends did that for her. “Okay. You can find me in the auditorium.”
You nodded and smiled before high fiving her then left. Yoonchae swallowed, ignoring the fluttering of her tummy. God she had to cut back on that taco.
Practice went smooth as usual, with the coach yelling here and there. Megan collapsed next to you, panting like a dog without water. “Jesus…I think I'm gonna die,” she breathed out, sweat dripping down both of your bodies.
“You think?” You shot back, throwing a bottle of water at her.
Megan flipped you off before unscrewing the cap and drinking it down greedily. “What's going on with you and Yoonchae?”
“Huh? What's going on with us?”
“Don't play dumb with me. Are you in love with her?”
You choked on your spit which made Megan cackle. “Megan what the hell? We're just best friends.”
Megan raised her eyebrows and made one of those animated faces. “Mm, just best friends huh? Best friends don't look at each other like you two too. Best friends don't move like you both do. You're in love with Jeung Yoonchae.”
Megan's words left you speechless. It couldn't be. You weren't in love were you? “Go home and think about it y/n. I can tell she's into you too.” Megan patted your back before leaving.
When the time came to pick her up, you waited until she finished changing before both of you walked back home together. Her house was three houses away from yours which made it more convenient. Yoonchae began chatting animatedly about her day, her classes, assignments, which kid looked at her weird. And she noticed it. The dumbfounded affectionate look in your eyes. It was the same one she's seen in Megan's eyes whenever Daniela would speak and when she asked Daniela about it, the Latina replied, “Megan and I are in love. When two people are in love, they get this dumbfounded love struck expression, like they couldn't believe their partner is real.”
Since then, Yoonchae noticed it every time she spoke, yet she never stopped because part of her loved it. She loved the attention she received from you. But this time, it was different. It was like you were aware of how you looked at her.
“Are you listening to me, y/n?”
“Huh? Oh yeah. You said something about Emily looking at you weirdly today.”
Oh so you were listening. Yoonchae nodded and continued her rant all the way home. When she arrived at her doorsteps, she pulled you in for a hug. “Thanks for being patient with me, y/n. I know I don't know much about American life, but you've taught me a lot. So much.”
You reciprocated the hug. “Of course Chip, and hey, your English is getting better. Keep working on it okay?” She muttered something in Korean before heading in, waving at you one last time.
Over the next few days, both you and Yoonchae began carefully observing each other. She noticed every tiny detail about you and you did the same to her. Daniela would slowly teach her everything about love, while Megan would tease you (also giving you advice.)
Then came the day of a basketball match. It was an inter-school tournament where the winning team would carry home a large trophy and cash which wasn't specified. Yoonchae was on the sidelines dressed in her uniform, performing her cheerdance with the rest of the team. You, Megan and the other basketball members were huddled in the corner, the coach giving harsh words of motivation. You didn't focus, all you looked at was Yoonchae and her adorable smile. Then you made up your mind. You were going to win. For Yoonchae. To hell with the school. This one was for Chip.
With that newfound determination, you played like a pro, even the coach was impressed with your gameplay given that he was a hard man to please. The buzzer came on and your team won. “WE DID IT! WE DID IT!” Megan cheered, jumping on you. The entire team lifted you up, throwing you in the air then catching you. The prizes were given, a medal for each member, a trophy to the MVP (You) and an envelope with cash for the school. Once everything calmed down, Yoonchae's parents came to pick both you and Yoonchae up, then they took you both for ice cream. “You did amazing out there y/n,” Yoonchae smiled, hugging you tightly and kissing your cheek. You froze before turning red.
“Wow you are so red y/n. Here's some ice cream to cool you down,” her dad smiled. You thanked the older man and took it. It was your favorite flavor.
Somehow, you managed to convince your parents to have a sleepover with Yoonchae tonight which is why you were currently in her bedroom, sitting cross legged on the bed while she sat opposite. “Y/n?”
“Yes Chip?”
Yoonchae hesitated, she almost forgot what she had practiced earlier with Daniela. “I like your eyes.”
“Oh. Thanks. I like yours too.”
An awkward silence fell over you both and you could see how much she struggled to get the words out. “Chip?”
“Yes, y/n?”
“I think I'm in love with you.”
Yoonchae blinked like an owl before clearing her throat. “I-I love you too.”
A breath of relief escaped both of your lips at the same time, making a fit giggle take over. “That was hard Huh?” She laughed at your question before launching herself in your arms. Both of you hugged it out before she hesitantly placed a quick peck on your lips. You froze again, then returned the peck.
“How long did you love me, Chip?”
“Since a few months ago.”
“Me too. A little before that actually.”
Silence fell over you two again, but this time, it was comfortable and as usual, both of you understood what each other was thinking, without words being said.

The dim glow of the studio monitors cast long, flickering shadows across the empty room. The only sound was the soft hum of the speakers, filling the space with something hauntingly familiar. Y/N sat motionless before the mixing board, fingers resting against the cool metal fader, her other hand curled into a loose fist on her lap.
A slow inhale. A sharp exhale.
She had produced this track for an artist under SM, a rising soloist with a delicate voice, the kind that carried emotion effortlessly. But no matter how hard she tried to separate herself from it, the song was not theirs.
It was hers.
The chord progression, the way the notes stretched like fingertips reaching for something already gone, the way the vocalist’s voice wavered, just barely, on the high notes. It wasn’t just music. It was a memory.
The kind of song that felt like déjà vu, like standing in the middle of a dream where you already knew the ending but wished, desperately, that this time it would be different.
For a brief, fleeting moment, Y/N allowed herself to sink into it.
And then the chorus hit.

8.3k words long.
The bus jolted as it pulled into the parking lot, and you watched the sea of faces outside your window. Groups clustered together, already locked into their familiar morning rituals — jocks tossing footballs in the quad, cheerleaders twirling their hair and squealing about something on their phones, skater kids leaning against the rails like they owned the place. It was the same circus you’d seen a dozen times before, just a different backdrop.
You shifted your backpack higher on your shoulder. The straps dug into your collarbone, weighed down by the small plastic box you’d carefully packed that morning — today’s project. Not textbooks, not notebooks, but a neatly bagged Lego set. Some people carried lunch, some carried laptops. You carried bricks.
The bus hissed open. The jungle swallowed you whole.
It was loud — lockers slamming, laughter, shouts echoing across the hall. Everyone already knew their place in the food chain. You could see it in the way they moved: freshmen scrambling to avoid upperclassmen, groups forming tight packs, kids staking out territories like animals circling watering holes. You’d transferred schools enough to recognize the choreography.
And like always, you didn’t care.
Let them posture, let them preen. None of it had anything to do with you. You weren’t here to climb ladders or to get tangled in whatever hierarchy they worshiped. You were here to pass your classes, keep your head down, and finish the custom modular build waiting in your room.
The thought of it steadied you as you made your way through the halls. The little plastic pieces, the way they clicked into place, the hours slipping away unnoticed — that was your world. Not this one.
First Class
Your homeroom smelled like pencil shavings and overused perfume. Desks clustered in groups of four, each claimed by an unspoken rule you hadn’t been briefed on. You picked the back corner, the one seat not guarded by someone’s backpack.
People stared. They always did on the first day. Not because you were strange-looking, but because you were new. New meant entertainment. New meant potential gossip.
“Who’s that?” whispered a girl near the window.
“Transfer,” someone else said.
“From where?”
“Don’t know. Don’t care.”
You dropped your bag and sat, ignoring the curious glances. The chair creaked, old gum pressed underneath the desk sticking to your fingertips. You pulled your hand back with a grimace.
When the teacher started roll call, you barely listened. Your name made a few heads swivel, whispers trailing after it. You kept your eyes on the graffiti carved into the desk — initials, hearts, a crude drawing of what might’ve been a cat or something worse.
Halfway through class, you noticed her.
She sat in the center like a queen holding court. Long hair glossy under the fluorescent lights, nails painted sharp enough to cut glass. The way people angled their bodies toward her, waiting for her laugh or her nod, told you everything. She didn’t just belong here — she ruled here.
And when her eyes swept the room, you looked away before they landed on you. Not out of fear, but because you weren’t interested in playing her game.
Lunchtime
By the time lunch rolled around, you were done. Not with the day — though it already felt too long — but with people. The constant chatter, the curious stares, the way every group moved like a hive with invisible strings pulling them together.
You found the farthest table from the chaos. Alone. Perfect.
From your bag, you pulled out the small box. The corners were worn, tape holding it shut. You flipped it open with practiced care and spread out the pieces on the table. A dozen pairs of eyes immediately locked on you.
“Is that—?”
“They’re playing with Legos?”
“Bruh.”
You ignored them. The cafeteria faded as you sorted pieces by color and size. 1x1 bricks in one pile, 2x2s in another, technic pins lined neatly at the edge. Your fingers moved automatically, muscle memory from years of building.
Click.
Click.
Click.
The cafeteria roared around you, but in your head, it was quiet.
The doors slammed open, and the volume shifted like someone had turned up the bass. Conversations tilted, heads turned.
Daniela Avanzini had arrived.
She didn’t just walk in; she entered. Every movement was deliberate — the sway of her hips, the way her heels clicked against the tile, the small tilt of her chin that dared anyone not to notice her. Her clique trailed after her like satellites orbiting a sun, each laughing too loud, eyes scanning for her next target.
You didn’t look up.
You were too busy connecting a minifigure’s torso to its legs.
But Daniela noticed you. She always noticed when someone wasn’t paying attention to her.
“Who’s Lego Boy?” she asked her friend, eyes flicking toward your table. Her tone dripped with disdain, but her gaze lingered longer than it should have.
“No idea. Transfer,” the friend said. “Kinda weird.”
Daniela smirked. “Weird’s one word for it.”
She expected you to feel the weight of her stare. To look up, to flinch, to do what everyone else did — acknowledge her presence.
You didn’t.
You snapped a yellow head onto a minifigure body and set it on the growing structure, lips twitching at the satisfying click.
Daniela’s smirk faltered.
“No one ignores me,” she muttered.
You didn’t know it yet, but while you were absorbed in plastic bricks, the queen of the school had set her sights on you. Not because she liked you. Not yet. But because you’d done the unthinkable — you hadn’t cared.
And Daniela Avanzini hated not being cared about.
The cafeteria buzzed like a hive. Trays clattered, gossip bounced from table to table, and laughter rose in waves. You tuned it out, sliding a 1x3 plate across the table to connect two halves of your mini-build. Piece by piece, the shape was starting to form — a small mech you’d been meaning to test out.
Your world was steady. Theirs was noise.
From across the room, Daniela Avanzini leaned back in her chair, manicured fingers drumming against her water bottle. She hadn’t taken her eyes off you since she’d sat down, though her friends chattered at her like background singers.
“Are you even listening, Dani?” one of them whined.
Daniela arched a brow, her gaze still flicking toward your table. “Not really.”
The girl pouted but didn’t press it — no one ever pressed Daniela. She was the kind of girl people tiptoed around, not because she asked them to, but because she radiated a confidence sharp enough to cut.
And right now, that confidence was cracking at the edges.
Who the hell brought Legos to school?
Not books, not AirPods, not even sketch pads — no, you had a spread of Lego pieces on the lunch table like it was your personal workshop. And worse — you weren’t embarrassed. Not even when people snickered, not even when someone walked by and muttered, “Manchild.”
Daniela waited for you to snap. To flinch. To hide the pieces back in your bag.
You didn’t.
You slid a minifigure into the cockpit of the mech and turned it slightly, checking its balance.
Click.
You smiled to yourself.
Daniela’s nails tapped harder.
The cafeteria wasn’t subtle. Heads tilted toward you like sunflowers turning to light, students whispering between bites of fries.
“Why are they—”
“Building that here?”
“God, they’re seriously doing Legos in the cafeteria.”
You heard it all, but it bounced off like static.
It wasn’t new. People always talked. People always stared. But the thing about Lego was that once the pieces were in your hands, once you were deep in the pattern of building, it didn’t matter. Their words didn’t matter.
You cared about structure. Stability. The way the colors lined up, the way friction held plastic together. People? People were messy.
Daniela tilted her head, lips curling into the faintest smirk.
“That’s cute,” she drawled to her clique, voice pitched just high enough to carry. “Little transfer girl thinks she’s too cool for lunch.”
Her friends giggled on cue. The comment was designed to cut — to make you look up, defend yourself, acknowledge her throne.
But you didn’t even blink.
You connected two more plates, smoothing the seam with your thumb.
Daniela’s smirk slipped.
Her friends followed her gaze and laughed again, this time uneasy. Because it wasn’t funny when the joke didn’t land. It wasn’t funny when the target didn’t react.
“Maybe she’s slow,” one girl offered weakly.
Daniela didn’t answer. She was watching the way you leaned closer to your build, brows furrowed in concentration. The cafeteria was a storm of sound, but you looked like you were underwater, a world apart.
She hated it.
She hated that you weren’t giving her the satisfaction of a glance. She hated that you weren’t performing for her like everyone else did. She hated that for the first time in a long time, she wasn’t the center of someone’s universe.
And somewhere under the irritation, she was intrigued.
You snapped the final piece into place, sat back, and admired your work. A compact mech with hinged arms and reinforced legs. Small, but stable. Exactly how you liked it.
For a moment, the cafeteria disappeared completely.
Then a shadow fell over your table.
You glanced up — not because you’d been waiting, but because it blocked your light.
Daniela stood there, tray balanced in one hand, the other on her hip. Her friends lingered behind her like a royal court, waiting for their queen to strike.
“Well, look at you,” she said, voice syrupy sweet with a razor edge underneath. “Playing with toys at lunch. Adorable.”
She waited for the flush. The embarrassment. The excuse.
You just blinked at her. “They’re not toys.”
Her smile froze. “Excuse me?”
“Not toys,” you repeated, calmly. “They’re a building system. It’s engineering, not playing.”
You adjusted a piece on the mech’s arm and set it back down.
Daniela stared at you like you’d spoken another language.
Her friends snickered behind her, but it was forced now, their eyes darting between the two of you. They were used to seeing people stammer, apologize, try to please her. Not this.
Not someone who dismissed her mid-sentence.
Daniela’s jaw tightened. “Cute. Real cute.”
She leaned in closer, her perfume sharp and expensive, invading your space. “Don’t worry, Lego Boy. I’ll make sure you don’t eat alone for long.”
You raised a brow. “I’m fine eating alone.”
That stopped her. Just for a heartbeat.
No one told Daniela Avanzini no. No one brushed her off.
She straightened, lips pressed tight in something between irritation and fascination. Then, with a toss of her hair, she turned on her heel.
“Whatever. Enjoy your… blocks.”
Her heels clicked away, her court trailing after her in confused silence.
You set the mech in the center of the table and finally picked up your sandwich. The cafeteria noise rushed back in, but it didn’t touch you.
Across the room, Daniela sat with her back stiff, her smile too sharp, her laugh too loud. Her friends whispered to her, but her eyes kept flicking toward your table.
You didn’t look up again.
You didn’t need to.
Because for reasons you couldn’t know, you’d just become Daniela Avanzini’s next project.
And she always got what she wanted.
Daniela stabbed at her salad with unnecessary force. The lettuce was already limp, but she shredded it into strips with her fork anyway, jaw tight.
Her friends tried not to notice, but when Daniela Avanzini was in a mood, it was impossible to ignore.
“God, can you believe him?” Bianca, the blonde on her right, flicked her hair. “Like, who even does that? Legos? At lunch?”
“Total freak,” another chimed in, too quickly. “Probably doesn’t even know how to talk to people.”
Daniela let them chatter. Normally, she would’ve laughed with them, let her sharp little comments cut the new kid down to size. That was the routine: a target appeared, she shredded them, her throne stayed secure.
But this wasn’t routine.
Because while her friends snickered, her eyes kept sliding back to your table.
You weren’t even looking at her.
Not once.
You had your mech balanced on the tray in front of you, rotating it gently, testing the joints like you were adjusting something fragile and priceless. People were whispering about you, pointing, laughing. And you didn’t flinch.
That wasn’t how this school worked.
When the spotlight hit someone, they performed. They defended themselves. They joined the game.
You? You were just… outside of it. Like none of it mattered.
Daniela hated it.
She hated that she couldn’t get a reaction out of you. She hated that she’d leaned in close, practically breathed on you, and you’d just shrugged her off like she was background noise.
Nobody ignored her. Nobody.
And yet…
The way you’d said “They’re not toys.” Calm. Firm. Like you didn’t care if she understood or not.
Her stomach twisted with something she didn’t like naming.
“Dani,” Manon said, nudging her with a manicured elbow. “Why are you still looking at him?”
Daniela blinked, snapped out of her head. “I’m not.”
Manon smirked. “Please. You totally are. You’ve been staring at Lego Boy for, like, five minutes.”
“Shut up, manon,” Daniela snapped, too sharp, and her friends went quiet for half a beat. Then the laughter bubbled back, brittle but obedient.
Because no one pressed Daniela when her voice turned like that.
She leaned back in her chair, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “Relax. She’s just… funny. Like a mascot. Every school needs one.”
Her friends giggled, relief obvious.
But Daniela’s nails dug into her thigh under the table.
Mascot, her ass.
There was nothing funny about the way you’d looked at her like she didn’t matter.
You polished off the last of your sandwich, brushed the crumbs from your hands, and glanced at the clock. Five minutes left of lunch. Enough to finish one more adjustment.
The mech’s right leg wobbled when it stood. You crouched lower, tweaking the balance with a 2x2 joint. The cafeteria noise dimmed into nothing as your focus tunneled in.
Click.
Better.
You slid the mech back into your box and began sorting pieces, calm as ever. The glares, the whispers, even the daggers you felt being thrown from across the room — none of it touched you.
When the bell rang, you packed your box neatly, slung your bag over your shoulder, and walked out without looking back.
You didn’t see Daniela’s eyes following you the entire way.
The second you left, Daniela’s friends exploded.
“Oh my god, she’s so weird.”
“I bet he, like, still lives in her mom’s basement.”
“Seriously, who does that?”
Daniela twirled her fork, expression blank.
They were expecting her to finish the kill, to seal the insult with one of her razor-edged quips. That was the role she always played: Daniela the Queen Bee, the untouchable.
But she didn’t.
Instead, she leaned back, letting the noise wash over her, pretending not to think about you. Pretending she wasn’t still hearing your calm, steady voice: Not toys.
The rest of the afternoon blurred together.
Teachers droned. Notes filled whiteboards. Students dozed or scrolled under their desks. The rhythm of the day was the same as always.
But every time Daniela caught a glimpse of you — slipping into the back row, head down, scribbling in a notebook without glancing at anyone — her irritation flared.
You didn’t look. Not at her, not at the stares, not at the whispers. It was like you’d built yourself a bubble and nothing could puncture it.
For most people, being invisible was social death. For you, it was armor.
And Daniela wanted to be the one who cracked it.
By the final bell, the school spilled out like a flood. Friends linked arms, couples kissed at lockers, jocks shouted across the parking lot.
You slipped past them all, bag heavy with bricks, your mind already halfway home to the unfinished set waiting in your room.
Behind you, leaning against the steps with her clique, Daniela watched.
Her friends were mid-story, laughing too loud about something stupid, but Daniela’s eyes weren’t on them. They were on you.
Her lips curved into a slow smile, sharp and dangerous.
“Legos,” she murmured to herself, almost amused. “Fine. We’ll play with Legos.”
Because no one ignored Daniela Avanzini.
Not for long.
Your room was quiet, just the low hum of a desk lamp cutting through the dark. You set your backpack down and carefully pulled out the box of Lego bricks you’d carried all day.
The mech from lunch waited inside, half-built. You placed it in the center of your desk and exhaled, finally free of the noise and chaos of the school. Here, the world shrank down into colors and shapes, into things that made sense.
You opened a drawer and pulled out another set — one you’d been working on for weeks. A sprawling modular city block, its baseplates already connected, streets painted with tile pieces, windows glowing under the lamplight.
Piece by piece, you built higher.
Click.
Click.
The rhythm steadied you. Each brick was precise, each layer stronger than the last. Out there, people talked, judged, sneered. In here, nothing collapsed unless you built it wrong. Nothing cracked unless you wanted it to.
When your phone buzzed, you ignored it. Probably some group chat from the class you’d barely introduced yourself in. You didn’t care.
You lined up another row of bricks, eyes narrowing in satisfaction.
The city was growing. Stable. Predictable. Yours.
On the other side of town, Daniela sprawled across her bed, phone glowing inches from her face. Her group chat was on fire.
She tossed the phone onto her comforter, rolling onto her back with a groan. Normally, she’d be laughing at this. Normally, she’d be leading the jokes.
But instead, all she could think about was the way you hadn’t flinched at her words. The way you’d brushed her off like she was just another kid in the cafeteria.
No one had ever done that to her.
Her bedroom was a shrine to perfection — white walls, fairy lights strung with precision, expensive makeup palettes lined up like weapons. The mirror across from her bed reflected her every move, every toss of her hair, every pout of her lips.
She looked perfect. She was perfect. Everyone said so.
So why couldn’t she stop thinking about someone who clearly didn’t give a damn?
Daniela rolled over and grabbed her phone again, scrolling aimlessly through socials, through messages, through distractions. None of it worked.
In the back of her mind, she kept hearing your voice: They’re not toys.
You clicked another piece into place, your city block rising taller, the streets more alive.
Daniela painted her nails a fresh shade of blood-red, staring at the screen of her phone but seeing your face in her memory.
You leaned back in your chair, satisfied with the day’s build, the weight of silence wrapping you comfortably.
Daniela lay back on her bed, unsatisfied, restless, the silence gnawing at her.
Two lives, separate. Two worlds, incompatible.
And yet, for reasons neither of you understood yet, your paths had already snapped together like bricks that had always been meant to fit.
You turned off your lamp, the city silhouetted in the dark, standing proud on your desk.
Daniela turned off her phone, tossing it aside, her last thought before sleep not of her exes, not of her friends, not even of herself.
It was of you.
The second morning at a new school always felt different.
The first day was introductions, stares, and your own forced silence, the kind of day where people didn’t know what to do with you yet. The second? That’s when rumors began to calcify, when the labels they’d been whispering behind your back suddenly started to stick.
And sure enough, as you walked through the wide front gates of St. Ignatius High, backpack slung over one shoulder and Lego mech tucked carefully into the reinforced plastic box in your bag, you caught the sound of it.
“—that’s the Lego girl.”
“Lego boy, I think? She looks like a boy.”
“No, she’s a girl, I swear. Just… weird.”
“Did you see her yesterday? She was building toys at lunch.”
You didn’t even turn your head. Same story, different school. They could talk all they wanted — their voices blurred into background noise, static against the steady rhythm of your boots hitting pavement.
The building loomed, old brick with glossy banners about “Tradition, Excellence, Pride” hanging on either side of the front doors. Pride, sure. The real pride was in their cliques, their hierarchy. Everyone you passed had already been slotted into a role — cheerleaders laughing too loudly at something unfunny, skater kids lounging on the steps like they owned the concrete, nerds clutching textbooks.
And then there was Daniela Avanzini.
You didn’t have to search for her; the school made sure you couldn’t miss her.
She stood near the front entrance, Manon and Sophia flanking her like a personal entourage. A pink iced coffee sat perfectly balanced in her manicured hand. Her skirt fit just right, her blazer unbuttoned in the way that skirted rules without quite breaking them. She didn’t just walk into a room — she styled the entire hallway around her presence.
People orbited her. Smiling, nodding, bending toward her like flowers toward the sun. And the way she responded — sometimes with a smirk, sometimes a calculated flick of hair — was deliberate. A show.
You noticed her eyes scan the crowd like radar. Not for danger. For interest. She wasn’t looking to be accepted — she was looking for who deserved to be noticed.
And for a second, her gaze landed on you.
It was the barest flicker, the kind that most people wouldn’t have caught. But you weren’t most people. You saw her eyes sharpen, recognition sparking from yesterday’s cafeteria scene. The girl who’d dared to brush her off.
Her smirk curved higher. She leaned into Sophia, whispering something. Sophia’s sharp, dark eyes cut toward you before she giggled softly. Manon, ever the ditzy one, just twirled her hair and glanced in your direction like she didn’t quite get the joke.
You kept walking.
Inside, the hallway buzzed with the same energy — morning chatter, slammed lockers, the kind of noise that would’ve given anyone else a headache but for you just dissolved into a hum. You found your locker, twisted the dial, slid the box with your Lego mech into the shelf like it was more valuable than any textbook.
Some kid two lockers down was whispering to his friend. “That’s her. She ignored Daniela yesterday.”
The other one let out a low whistle. “She’s dead.”
You rolled your eyes, lips twitching. Dead, huh? That was dramatic.
You shoved your hands into your pockets and started toward your first class.
What you didn’t notice was that Daniela had slipped inside with her court not long after you, her iced coffee in hand like a scepter. She wasn’t subtle about her curiosity — her gaze followed you as you passed down the hall.
Manon noticed. “Why do you keep looking at her?”
Daniela scoffed, sipping from her straw. “I’m not.”
Sophia tilted her head. “Mm. You’re definitely watching her.”
“I’m not watching her. She’s… loud in her silence.”
Manon blinked. “That doesn’t even make sense.”
Daniela clicked her tongue in irritation, masking the way her stomach gave a strange, unsteady flip when she remembered your cool tone from yesterday: They’re not toys.
First period blurred, second dragged. You sat in the back of classrooms, answering when called but otherwise quiet. Teachers seemed to like you well enough — you did the work, didn’t make a scene. But the students… they were restless around you. Confused.
By third period, the rumors had thickened.
“She doesn’t talk to anyone.”
“She’s, like, scary calm.”
“I heard she punched a teacher at her old school.”
“No, I heard she brought an actual Lego castle to school before.”
It was laughable, really, how quickly their imaginations filled in the blanks of your silence. You let them. Easier than explaining anything.
But by the time lunch rolled around again, the atmosphere was different. Yesterday you were just a curiosity. Today, someone had decided you were a target.
And she was waiting.
By the time you reached the cafeteria, you already knew something was brewing.
It wasn’t just instinct — though you trusted that. It was the way kids were loitering in clusters instead of rushing straight for food, the way heads tilted your way and then snapped back, guilty. The whispers had shifted pitch, too. Not the curious, tentative ones of yesterday. These were sharper. Meaner.
A trap.
You weren’t surprised. New blood always drew attention. And the easiest way for a school to test a new student was to throw one of their golden boys at them and see how they handled it.
Sure enough, he was waiting near your usual spot at the back of the cafeteria.
Tall. Broad. Letterman jacket stretched over his shoulders like a second skin. He had the smirk of someone who’d been told all his life that girls liked him, that teachers would forgive him, that he owned whatever space he stood in. His posse was already half-ringed around him, eager to see the show.
When you approached your table, box in hand, he stepped into your path.
“Hey.”
You looked up at him, then down at your table, measuring the distance, already calculating how quickly you could sit and start building before he annoyed you further.
He didn’t move. His grin widened. “Heard you’re the Lego girl.”
A couple chuckles from his friends.
You raised a brow. “That’s the best nickname they came up with? Disappointing.”
That earned a sharper laugh from the crowd. His grin faltered for a split second.
But he recovered. “You know, usually new kids do something to fit in. Not sit in the corner playing with toys.”
You shifted your box to one hand, tilted your head. “And usually jocks don’t recycle the same insult from the last thirty years. Guess we’re both breaking stereotypes.”
The cafeteria erupted — snickers, gasps, the kind of sound teenagers made when blood was in the water.
The jock’s jaw tightened. He stepped closer, chest puffed like he thought intimidation worked on you. “You got a smart mouth, Lego girl.”
You blinked at him, unfazed. “Better than an empty head.”
That one landed. Hard. His friends’ laughter turned against him, and he scowled, hand twitching like he was debating grabbing your box or knocking it away.
Before he could, your voice cut in again, smooth and steady.
“Don’t touch the box.”
Something in your tone — flat, absolute — stopped him cold. He didn’t even know why, but his hand froze. You sidestepped him, dropped into your usual seat, and set the Lego kit on the table with deliberate calm.
Like he wasn’t even worth your time.
The crowd buzzed, eating it up. Half mocking him, half admiring you.
The jock’s face flushed red. He muttered something under his breath — “freak” — but it was weak. Deflated. He stomped off, his posse trailing behind like puppies without a leader.
Across the cafeteria, Daniela had seen everything.
She’d walked in late, as usual, Manon and Sophia beside her like bookends. Normally, the sight of a jock grandstanding would’ve bored her. Same old theater, same old script. But this time? She couldn’t look away.
You stood there, calm as a stone in a storm, cutting the guy down with words sharper than her manicured nails. No raised voice. No desperate need for approval. Just… precision.
When you dropped into your seat and cracked open your box like nothing had happened, Daniela’s lips curled without her permission. A smirk, genuine this time.
Manon gasped. “Oh my god, did you hear her? She wrecked him.”
Sophia leaned back, studying you with narrowed eyes. “She’s not scared of anyone. Not even him.”
Daniela swirled her iced coffee, pretending she wasn’t impressed. “Please. He walked right into it. Anyone could’ve handled that.”
But the truth burned in her chest. Not anyone. Most people bowed to the jocks. Most people bent the knee to her, too. But you? You didn’t bow to anyone.
Her gaze lingered on you across the room, absorbed in your Lego set while the whole cafeteria still whispered about what had just happened.
Intrigue tightened its grip on her.
No one ignored Daniela Avanzini. No one dismissed her clique. And no one — absolutely no one — shut down a jock like that.
She hated how badly she wanted to know what you’d say to her if she tried again.
Daniela hated when the cafeteria wouldn’t shut up.
Normally, she was the reason for it. A perfectly delivered one-liner, a rumor she’d planted weeks ago finally blooming, or sometimes just the click of her heels across the linoleum — that was enough to spark chatter.
But today, the noise wasn’t about her.
“Did you see her face?”
“She shut him down.”
“He didn’t even know what to say.”
All of it circled back to you.
Daniela twirled her straw in the iced coffee cup, jaw tight. She didn’t like sharing the spotlight. Especially not with someone who hadn’t even tried to take it.
Across the table, Manon leaned forward, voice a stage whisper. “I mean… it was kind of badass.”
Sophia smirked, more composed. “It was tactical. She didn’t overreact, didn’t escalate. Just cut him and sat down. Brilliant, honestly.”
Daniela scoffed, leaning back in her chair. “Oh, please. She got lucky. If he’d actually done something, she’d have folded.”
But her voice didn’t carry conviction, and Sophia noticed.
“You don’t actually believe that,” Sophia said, eyebrow arched.
Daniela shot her a glare. “And you think I care what some Lego freak says to a second-string quarterback?”
Manon giggled nervously, clearly not picking sides. “Still… did you hear that line? ‘Better than an empty head.’” She snorted. “I’m stealing that.”
Daniela’s lips tightened. The words replayed in her own head whether she wanted them to or not. Better than an empty head. The way you’d said it, calm, unshaken, like you were flicking lint off your sleeve.
It wasn’t just confidence. It was… control.
Her phone buzzed on the table. Group chat blowing up. Screenshots of memes already being made, Lego jokes layered with pictures of the jock looking dumbstruck. Normally Daniela would be the first to amplify it, to take the joke viral within the school.
But she just… didn’t.
Because for the first time in a long time, the joke wasn’t hers to make.
Meanwhile, you were at your usual corner table, the noise of the cafeteria fading around you like it always did. You’d already sorted the Lego pieces into neat piles — wings here, torso plates there, weapon attachments in a row. Your fingers moved automatically, snapping bricks together with practiced precision.
The mech took shape piece by piece, the rhythm grounding you. You didn’t care that people were still whispering, pointing, sneaking glances. Let them. They weren’t building anything.
What you didn’t realize was how often Daniela’s gaze flicked toward you from across the room.
At first, it was just idle curiosity. Then irritation, because you weren’t looking her way at all. Then… something else.
Her clique was still buzzing, dissecting every word you’d thrown at the jock. Daniela kept telling herself she didn’t care. But her eyes betrayed her.
She studied the way your brow furrowed slightly as you fit a stubborn piece into place. The way your shoulders relaxed once the joint locked correctly. The fact that you looked more at peace in that moment, surrounded by noise, than most people did in silence.
Sophia caught her staring. She didn’t say anything, not at first. Just smirked. Then leaned in.
“You’re watching her.”
Daniela snapped her gaze away, heat prickling under her collar. “I am not.”
“Mm,” Sophia said, sipping her soda. “If you say so.”
Manon, oblivious, sighed dreamily. “Do you think she’d ever build me something? Like, a Lego heart? That’d be so cute.”
Daniela nearly choked on her drink. “Manon. For god’s sake. She’s not— she’s not boyfriend material. Or girlfriend. Or anything.”
But even as she said it, Daniela couldn’t stop imagining what it would be like if you did build her something. Not Manon. Her.
Something one-of-a-kind. Something no one else got.
The thought lodged itself in her chest like a brick snapping down too tightly to ever pry loose.
By the time lunch ended, the cafeteria was still humming with your victory over the jock. You rose, packed away your Lego mech with the same quiet care, and walked out as if the world weren’t buzzing about you.
Daniela’s eyes followed you until the doors closed behind you.
Manon stretched. “She’s interesting, huh?”
Sophia smirked again. “Daniela thinks so.”
“I don’t,” Daniela snapped, standing abruptly. “She’s… whatever. A phase. People will get bored of her by Friday.”
But the way her heart kicked at the memory of your voice told her otherwise.
For the first time in a long time, Daniela Avanzini had found someone she couldn’t easily categorize. Someone who didn’t bend. Someone she couldn’t control.
And that? That was unacceptable.
Or maybe… irresistible.
By last bell, the story of your lunchtime showdown had mutated into half a dozen versions.
Some kids swore you’d slammed the jock against the lockers. Others claimed you’d thrown Lego pieces at him like ninja stars. A few even said you hadn’t said anything — that you’d just stared until he backed down.
None of it was true.
But none of it mattered, either.
As you walked out of class, you caught stray fragments:
“She humiliated him, I swear.”
“He deserved it. He’s such a jerk.”
“Yo, I think I actually like her. She’s cool.”
You ignored it all, slipping your earbuds in and heading home.
For you, the day wasn’t about a fight or a win. It was about getting back to your desk, your bricks, your unfinished city.
On the other side of the hallway, Daniela walked with her usual entourage, her phone buzzing in her hand.
Her thumbs moved fast, dismissive. But her chest felt tight.
Because she was jealous. Not of you exactly — but of the way people were suddenly talking about you. Daniela wasn’t used to being eclipsed. And she hated that she couldn’t stop replaying your calm voice in her head, the way you’d sat down like a queen taking her rightful throne after cutting someone down.
Sophia gave her a sidelong look as they walked. “You keep texting about her.”
Daniela’s jaw flexed. “Because everyone else won’t shut up.”
“Mhm.” Sophia’s smirk said she didn’t believe a word.
Back home, the world shrank again. You dropped your backpack by the desk and pulled out the half-built city block. The cafeteria, the jock, the whispers — all of it faded once the bricks were in front of you.
Click.
Click.
Layer by layer, the city grew.
A bookstore. A rooftop garden. A corner café with tiny mugs no one but you would notice.
You leaned back, studying it with a faint sense of pride. No one could touch this. Not the jock, not Daniela, not the gossip.
This was yours.
Daniela’s room glowed in soft pink light, fairy lamps strung across her headboard. She sat cross-legged on her bed, scrolling mindlessly through her phone. Every other post was about you. A blurry picture someone had snapped during lunch. A TikTok edit of your comebacks with dramatic captions.
Normally, she’d be flattered to have this kind of buzz — she thrived on it. But tonight, every new post gnawed at her.
She should’ve been the one trending.
She should’ve been the one everyone whispered about.
Instead, she was lying here, obsessively scrolling for another glimpse of the girl who refused to look at her twice.
Manon texted again ::
Daniela threw her phone onto the comforter, glaring at the ceiling. Her heart hammered harder than she wanted to admit.
The image of you sitting there, calmly sorting Lego bricks while the world spun around you, was burned into her brain. Unbothered. Untouchable.
It infuriated her.
It fascinated her.
And for the first time in years, Daniela Avanzini had no idea how to play the game.
You clicked the final piece into place, the city block completed for the night, lamplight glinting off its clean edges.
Daniela turned out her light, rolling onto her side with a restless sigh, her last thought not of herself or her friends — but of you.
Two different rooms.
Two different lives.
But like bricks from the same set, you were already locking into place.
Daniela Avanzini was not obsessed.
That’s what she told herself as she sat at her usual cafeteria table, legs crossed, iced coffee sweating in her hand. Her manicure gleamed under the overhead lights, her reflection perfect in the polished phone screen. Around her, the cafeteria buzzed with the normal symphony of high school chatter — laughter, clattering trays, whispered gossip.
And yet, somehow, every other conversation she caught still had your name in it.
“—did you see the Lego mech she’s building now?”
“She straight up destroyed Brian yesterday.”
“She didn’t even raise her voice. That was the wild part.”
Daniela swirled her straw harder than necessary. “Unbelievable,” she muttered.
Sophia, ever perceptive, smirked from across the table. “What is?”
“That they’re still talking about her. It’s boring already.”
Sophia leaned her chin on her hand. “Funny. You’ve brought her up three times today.”
Daniela’s head snapped up. “I have not.”
“You have,” Manon chimed in between bites of salad. She twirled her fork, dreamy-eyed. “And honestly, I get it. She’s kinda hot.”
Daniela choked on her coffee, coughing. “Excuse me?”
“What?” Manon blinked innocently. “She’s, like… mysterious. You know? Doesn’t care about anyone. Doesn’t care about you, even. That’s… different.”
“Different?” Daniela scoffed, tossing her hair back. “Please. She’s trying too hard. It’s a phase. People are impressed now, but it won’t last.”
Sophia tilted her head. “So what exactly are you doing?”
“Doing?”
“You’ve been staring at her table since we sat down.”
Daniela froze, realizing too late that her eyes had once again drifted toward the back corner, where you were hunched over your neat little Lego piles like the cafeteria didn’t exist. Everyone else ate food. You built things. And the strangest part was how… calm you looked. Like nothing anyone said touched you.
Heat prickled in Daniela’s chest, though she masked it with a roll of her eyes. “I wasn’t staring. I was… analyzing. For fun. She’s like a science project.”
Sophia’s smirk widened. “Uh-huh. And what’s your hypothesis?”
“That she’s insufferable.”
Manon giggled. “Then why do you keep watching her?”
Daniela snapped her gaze away, spine stiff. “Because no one ignores me. No one. And she has—twice. That’s not obsession, that’s… principle.”
Sophia leaned back in her chair, clearly enjoying every second. “So, principle’s going to make you… what? Accidentally bump into her? Ask to borrow a pencil? Spill your coffee near her locker so she has to notice you?”
Daniela’s cheeks warmed despite herself. “I don’t need tricks to get noticed.”
“Mm,” Sophia hummed, sly. “Funny, because you’ve been thinking about it.”
Daniela shot her a glare sharp enough to cut glass. But she didn’t deny it.
Manon clapped her hands suddenly, oblivious. “Ooh, you should do the pencil thing! That’s cute. Or maybe you could, like, sit next to her in class and—”
“Manon.” Daniela’s tone dripped disdain, but her mind was already racing. Class. Locker. Hallway. Opportunities lined up like chess pieces, and if she moved them right, you’d have to look at her.
Not just glance. Not just brush her off. Really look.
And when you did, Daniela promised herself, she’d figure out why you were the first person in this entire school who dared treat her like she was ordinary.
Because Daniela Avanzini was anything but ordinary.
She smirked suddenly, sipping her coffee with new determination. “Fine. If she wants to act like I don’t exist, I’ll make it impossible for her not to.”
Manon gasped, excited. “Yay! We’re plotting!”
Sophia just chuckled, low and knowing. “This is going to be fun.”
Across the room, you snapped the final piece onto your mech’s arm, satisfied with its symmetry. You didn’t notice the way Daniela’s gaze burned holes into your back, or the way her smirk curled into something sharp and hungry.
For her, the game had just begun.
The opportunity came sooner than Daniela expected.
The hallways between third and fourth period were her stage. Everyone knew it — the way students parted when she walked through, the way compliments and hellos followed her like perfume. Normally, Daniela thrived in it, soaking in the attention.
But today, her eyes weren’t scanning for admirers.
They were locked on one target: you.
You were at your locker, earbuds in, swapping one textbook for another. Your expression was neutral, intent, like you had a whole other world in your head that had nothing to do with the chaos around you.
Daniela told herself this was nothing. Just a test. Just proving she could.
“Watch and learn,” she whispered to Sophia and Manon before gliding forward.
Her steps were precise, posture perfect, smile calculated. She even timed the approach so the bell’s ring would punctuate her arrival — the kind of entrance people remembered.
“Hey,” Daniela said smoothly, leaning against the locker next to yours. “You’re the new girl, right?”
You pulled one earbud out, glanced at her briefly. “Yeah.”
That was it. No double take, no nervous laugh, no lingering glance at her perfect hair, her outfit, her everything. Just yeah.
Daniela blinked, thrown for a second, but recovered quickly with a toss of her hair. “I’m Daniela. Daniela Avanzini.”
Most people would’ve gasped, smiled, rushed to say they knew her name already. But you just slid a notebook into your bag and said, “Okay.”
Her jaw nearly dropped. Okay? That was it? No recognition? No praise?
Daniela’s smile tightened, but she forced a light laugh. “Right. Well, I guess you’ll figure out who I am soon enough. People usually do.”
You shut your locker, turning to look at her properly for the first time. Your eyes weren’t intimidated. They weren’t impressed. They were just… curious, like you were observing a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit.
“Do you always talk like that?” you asked, tone flat but not unkind.
Daniela blinked again, caught off guard. “Like what?”
“Like you’re selling yourself.”
From down the hall, Sophia covered her mouth to hide a grin. Manon audibly gasped, eyes wide with delight.
Daniela’s cheeks flushed hot. “Excuse me?”
You shrugged, adjusting your strap and stepping around her with calm ease. “Just wondering.”
And then you walked away.
No chase. No second glance.
Just gone, swallowed into the sea of students while Daniela stood there, stunned.
Her entourage rushed over immediately.
“Oh my god,” Manon whispered, bouncing on her toes. “She’s savage. I love her.”
Sophia’s smirk was damn near evil. “Well. That went well.”
Daniela snapped her gaze to them, bristling. “Shut up. It was… fine. She’s just clueless.”
“Clueless,” Sophia echoed. “Or not interested?”
Daniela’s heart gave an uncomfortable lurch, though she hid it behind another toss of her hair. “Please. She’s interested. She just doesn’t know it yet.”
But as she walked to her next class, she couldn’t shake the memory of your calm voice, your steady gaze, the way you’d brushed her off like she was no one.
For the first time in her carefully curated reign, Daniela Avanzini wasn’t sure she was the one in control.
Daniela Avanzini did not get ignored.
That was the mantra she repeated as she glided into fourth period English, chin high, heels clicking lightly against the tiled floor. Normally, her seat by the window was waiting, pre-warmed by one of her admirers who’d eagerly surrendered it earlier in the semester.
But today, she didn’t head to her throne.
Today, her eyes locked onto you.
You were already seated in the back row, notebook open, a few loose Lego pieces sitting on the edge of your desk like worry stones. You didn’t notice her approach at first, earbuds in, pencil tapping as you idly sketched out what looked like… blueprints. For Lego. Of course.
Daniela forced a slow, casual exhale. This was strategy. One setback in the hallway didn’t mean anything — she just hadn’t applied enough pressure. The queen bee always won in the end.
Sliding past a row of gawking students, she stopped beside your desk.
“This seat taken?” she asked, pointing to the empty chair next to you.
You didn’t even glance up. “Don’t think so.”
Her jaw ticked at the lack of reaction, but she sat anyway, setting her purse delicately on the floor. Her perfume filled the space between you — subtle, expensive, the kind of scent that usually turned heads.
Not yours.
The teacher started lecturing, but Daniela didn’t hear a word. She angled her body toward you, chin propped delicately on her hand. “So. You’re an artist?”
You finally looked at her, brow furrowing faintly. “These?” You tapped the notebook. “They’re just schematics.”
“For… toys?” Her tone was teasing, edged like a blade dipped in sugar.
“Not toys,” you corrected calmly. “Designs. Architecture in miniature.”
Daniela blinked. The way you said it was so matter-of-fact, no defensiveness, no embarrassment. Just truth.
Most people would’ve stumbled under her tone, rushed to justify themselves. But you… didn’t care.
That tiny crack in her perfect control made her voice come out sharper than she meant. “You really don’t care what people think, do you?”
You tilted your head, studying her with the same neutral gaze that had unnerved her in the hallway. “Do you?”
The question was so soft, so simple, but it lodged in Daniela’s chest like a splinter.
Of course she cared. Her entire empire depended on it — her hair, her clothes, her voice, every move choreographed to perfection. She cared so much she could hardly breathe sometimes.
But the way you said it — like it was the most obvious question in the world — made her skin prickle with discomfort.
She scoffed, tossing her hair back. “Obviously not.”
You just hummed, unconvinced, and went back to your sketches.
That was it. No further argument. No effort to drag the truth out of her. You just left the question dangling in the air between you, heavy and unshakable.
For the rest of class, Daniela found herself stealing glances at you — the curve of your jaw under the fluorescent lights, the way your pencil flew across the page without hesitation, the calm set of your shoulders.
You looked like someone who belonged to yourself completely.
And it infuriated her.
By the time the bell rang, Daniela was so wound up she nearly forgot to grab her purse. As you slid past her, brushing lightly against her arm, she caught the faintest ghost of your voice:
“See you around.”
It wasn’t flirty. It wasn’t even particularly warm. But it was casual, like you didn’t care whether she showed up again or not.
And that, somehow, made Daniela want more.
The sky outside your window deepened into twilight, orange fading to indigo. You sat at your desk, the hum of a small lamp spilling across scattered bricks. The day had been long — noise, eyes on you, the strange intensity of Daniela Avanzini hovering at your side in class.
But here, none of that mattered.
Click.
Click.
You worked in silence, stacking bricks into a tower that would soon anchor the next block of your miniature city. A water tower this time, rounded and functional, perched above tiny rooftops you’d spent the last week perfecting.
Every piece had its place.
Every click made sense.
There was no guessing, no power games, no confusing questions lingering in the air. Just you, your hands, and the quiet certainty of creation.
You leaned back after an hour, stretching, surveying the growing skyline with faint satisfaction. It wasn’t finished — it never really was — but that was the point. The city would keep growing, just like you would.
For you, that was enough.
Across town, Daniela lay sprawled on her bed, staring at the ceiling with a scowl she couldn’t shake.
Her phone buzzed with notifications — likes, comments, the usual flood of attention she normally thrived on. But tonight, it felt hollow.
Daniela threw her phone onto the comforter, rolling onto her stomach with a muffled groan. She hated how right Sophia was.
That one stupid question kept circling in her head, no matter how many times she tried to dismiss it:
Do you?
She thought about the hours she spent on her appearance, the way she calculated every move to maintain her throne. Of course she cared what people thought. Her whole identity was built on it.
But the way you’d asked it — like you already knew the answer, like you could see right through her — made her chest tighten.
She hated it.
She hated you.
She… wanted to see you again.
With a frustrated sigh, Daniela rolled over, pulling the covers to her chin. Sleep didn’t come easy. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw your calm expression, your steady gaze, the way you’d gone back to your notebook like she hadn’t even mattered.
It was infuriating.
It was addictive.
And by the time exhaustion finally dragged her under, Daniela Avanzini had already decided: tomorrow, she wasn’t just going to bump into you.
She was going to make you look at her.

"Finding Us"
Megan Skiendiel x fem reader (Dream Academy) masterlist
You never planned for any of this to happen.
When Dream Academy first started, your only goal was to survive. Vocals, choreography, cameras everywhere, the constant pressure of being evaluated. Falling in love was the last thing on your mind.
And yet… Megan happened.
It started small. Late-night practice rooms when everyone else had gone back to the dorms. Shared headphones while stretching on the floor. Her laughing when you messed up choreography on purpose just to make her smile. Somewhere between whispered encouragements and stolen glances across the studio, you became us.
You and Megan started dating quietly halfway through Dream Academy, no announcements, no big gestures. Just secret hand squeezes behind water bottles, her hoodie somehow always ending up on your shoulders, and the way she’d look at you like you were already something precious.
The finale night feels unreal.
You’re standing backstage in a line, heart pounding so hard you’re sure the mic can pick it up. Megan stands beside you, fingers brushing yours. She notices your shaking hands immediately.
“Hey,” she whispers, turning her body slightly toward you so the cameras can’t see. “Breathe. You did amazing. No matter what happens.”
You nod, swallowing hard. “I just… I don’t want tonight to be goodbye.”
Megan’s thumb traces a reassuring circle on your palm. “It’s not,” she says softly, with a confidence that feels like a promise.
The finalists are announced. One by one. Cheers, tears, hugs. KATSEYE is forming right in front of your eyes, and Megan’s name is called. You feel pride explode in your chest as she steps forward, eyes shining, hands over her mouth.
But your name doesn’t come.
You clap, you smile, you blink back tears. You’re proud of her—so proud—but the ache still settles deep in your chest. Megan keeps looking back at you, worry written all over her face.
Then the host speaks again.
“Before we close tonight,” they say, “we have one final surprise.”
Your heart stutters.
“KATSEYE will not debut with six members… but seven.”
The screen behind the stage flickers.
Your face appears.
For a second, you think you’re imagining it.
Then Megan gasps.
Your name is called.
The world explodes into sound, and you barely register yourself walking forward until Megan is suddenly there, throwing her arms around you. You cling to her like she’s the only solid thing left.
“You’re in,” she laughs breathlessly, tears streaming down her face. “You’re really in. We did it.”
We.
Later, when the cameras finally back off and the group is ushered backstage, Megan pulls you into a quiet corner. Her hands are still shaking as she cups your face.
“I knew,” she says softly. “I knew you belonged here. With me. With us.”
You laugh through your tears. “So… does this mean I get to debut with my girlfriend?”
Megan grins, forehead resting against yours. “Yeah,” she whispers. “It does.”
She presses a gentle kiss to your cheek, just subtle enough to stay yours, just meaningful enough to say everything.
You didn’t just make KATSEYE that night.
You found your place. And you found it with her.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Your childhood was stripped away from you. By choice, because in all honesty, the feeling of having a little bundle of joy in your life was better than the loneliness you were stuck with. With that decision, after getting knocked up by your ex-boyfriend, came consequences.
For example, your parents kicked you out once they found you were pregnant, you were stranded on a sidewalk outside your childhood home with nothing but a suitcase filled with your stuff.
It was hard—you bounced between friends’ houses but nothing ever stuck permanently. You could feel the judgement from their parents, the pity in their eyes. You didn’t want to bother anyone. So you started working a job at 17, somewhere in fast food to make enough money. You even dropped out of high school unfortunately.
It made you rethink your decision of having this baby in the first place.
But by god, the moment your baby girl, Adriana, was born, she was the light of your life. You clung to her after giving birth, holding her like she was the most precious human being you’ve ever seen before.
After being released from the hospital, you managed to make enough money for a down payment on an apartment where you were able to raise Adriana. Then an opportunity struck.
HYBE was looking for members of a new girl group that they were putting together. You said fuck it ‘cause what else did you have to lose? And you managed to somehow land a slot on what is now called KATSEYE.
You met six other wonderful girls who became your best friends. One in particular, Daniela, whom you fell in love with since the moment you stepped into Dream Academy. You remember the day she appeared outside your room with roses and your favorite coffee, expressing her feelings for you.
Daniela made life so much easier. She spoiled you so much, especially when KATSEYE took off in popularity. You loved the fans, you loved your friends, and you loved your girlfriend.
But they weren’t aware of Adriana. Nor the fact that you were even a mom.
It became a pattern—they’d offer to hang out, you denied, saying your plants at home required attention and extra care. Whenever Daniela wanted to take you out to dinner or anywhere just to have some alone time, you denied, denied, denied.
Until all six of them snapped.
Daniela let out a frustrated sigh as she threw her phone on the couch. Megan didn’t need to look up as she flipped through her magazine. “Y/N cancel again?”
“Yes!” Dani groaned, annoyed. “I wanted to take my girl to the beach for a week, just a week, and she won’t even go!”
“So we’re not the only ones who have noticed the way she’s so… distant?” Manon piped up.
Sophia nodded. “She never hangs out with us. It’s been like this since the academy.”
Daniela sighs. “What if she just doesn’t like me anymore? Or us? What if she hates being in Katseye?”
Yoonchae grabbed the older girl’s hand. “That’s not true.”
“I agree. She loves you to the moon and back, Dani.” Sophia murmured softly.
“Doesn’t feel like it sometimes.” Daniela mumbled, hurt. Silence filled the air before she stood up. “You know what? I’m done with the excuses. I want to fucking know why my own damn girlfriend won’t go out with me.”
She starts storming for the door and all five girls hurriedly throw jackets and shoes on, stumbling out the door to catch up. Daniela drives with such a rage, everyone is gripping the side doors like their life depends on it.
You lived an hour away. She got there in 20.
Sophia swore on her mom that she’d be the one to drive back home.
-
Dinner was always tough. Adriana never wished to each much, she was quite picky.
“Mac and cheese? Pancakes?” You offered suggestions.
The stubborn girl shook her head. “Mac and cheese is too cheesy by itself.” She said proudly with a slight lisp. You smiled slightly. “And pancakes are for bweakfast, mama!”
“You’re right, baby girl.” You tapped her nose, watching her scrunch her face cutely. “Can you cooperate on something for me, though? Anything?”
Adriana thought about it, “May I pwease have dino nuggets and fries?”
Your heart blossomed at her manners. You were raising her well. “Of course, my love. I’ll make them for you. Go finish coloring, I’ll tell you when to wash up.”
The girl excitedly nods, planting the sweetest kiss on your cheek before jumping in her chair and scribbling about on her coloring pages with bright crayons.
You cooked her dinner with ease, plating it on her favorite Bluey dish with her sippy cup filled with apple juice. You even managed to put some orange slices in one of the plate slots for vitamin C.
“Time to eat!” You clapped your hands. Adriana reached up happily, you grabbed her gently and settled her on your hip. You were on your way to the bathroom when the doorbell rang. You furrowed your brows before slowly walking over.
You opened the door but it was flung open by six girls who stormed in with a furious passion but stopped dead in their tracks the moment they saw the little girl in your arms.
“Y/N?” Daniela asked, just barely above a whisper.
Tears welled up in your eyes as panic shot through your chest.
Adriana tugged at your sweater. “Mama, who’s dat! They pwetty!”
You tried to smile—you really did—but you slowly lowered her to the ground. You cleared your throat, looking into Adriana’s eyes. “Honey, don’t worry about your hands, okay? Go eat your food for me, baby. Then I promise you can have ice cream after.”
“Ice cweam! Tank you, mommy!” The little girl ran to her designated chair in the kitchen, eating her food with a happy tune escaping her throat.
You immediately shoved the girls outside, closing the door behind you. “What are you doing here?”
Daniela looked at you with doe eyes. “You keep ghosting me, us.” She gestured to the girls. “I just wanted to know why, baby. Why didn’t you tell me you-“
“Don’t.” You shakily cut her off. “If you can’t handle it, then we can’t be together and I can’t be in Katseye. I’ve already been dealt that hand before so please, spare me.” You let the tears fall.
“Y/N…” Megan said softly.
“Baby? No, no.” Daniela immediately stuttered, wrapping her arms around you. You simply collapsed in her arms. “I’m not mad, I’m not mad. I’m not judging you, mi amor, I swear. It doesn’t bother me. I just wish you told me, okay? I don’t want you to carry this by yourself. Let me be your… home.”
You dried your eyes and slowly backed away. “I’m really sorry for lying for so long. My parents kicked me out at 17 when they found out. I’ve been on the streets since and, I don’t know, I struggled so much and I was so worried you’d judge me or think of me differently.”
Lara was the first to step up. “Never, boo. Never ever. We love you so much. Nothing will ever change that.” She pulled you in for a hug.
You smiled against her shoulder. Megan grabbed your hand next. “We would’ve helped or understood like we do now.”
“I’m not gonna lie, I probably would’ve spoiled the shit out of her.” Manon joked, making everyone let out a chuckle. “She looks adorable.”
“She is.” You sniffled.
“We’re not judging, Y/N.” Sophia reassured softly.
You looked to Dani, who’d been staring at you with this yearning look in her eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay.” She whispered. You cupped her face and kissed her slowly. “Can we meet her?”
Your hesitation was evident for only a second before nodding as you opened the door, allowing them inside. They piled into the living room—somewhat awkwardly as they tried to make it feel normal for you.
You helped Adriana wash up after dinner, clearing her plate and scooping ice cream in a bowl for her. She sat happily between Daniela and Sophia with the brightest smile on her face.
“She’s got your smile.” Daniela whispered aloud.
You sat across from them next to Megan. “Yeah.”
Adriana looks up at Dani with chocolate smeared across her cheeks. “Evewybody always says I wook like my mommy. That I’m just as pwetty!”
“You really are, sweetie.” Manon chuckled softly.
Dani let’s out a small breath. “Uhm, Adriana?” The curious girl makes eye contact with her. “I’m Daniela, by the way. I am uh dating your mom.”
“What does dating mean?”
“Oh well-“ you tried explaining, but Daniela cut you off.
“It means I get to kiss your mommy.”
“Ewwwwws!” Adriana reacted immediately, but that smile never faded. Daniela laughed affectionately. “Is mommy a good kisser?”
“I’ll tell you a secret.” Adriana huddles closer like it’s a mission. “Your mommy is the best kisser ever.”
“Yay! Mama is da best dancer! Did you see her!”
“I have, we all have actually! Your mommy is the best there ever is.”
Adriana beamed, setting her empty bowl on the coffee table and moving to crawl into your lap. You took a tissue and gently wiped the chocolate off, she licked her lips proudly, before cuddling her head against your chest.
“I wuv you, mama.”
You closed your eyes briefly. “I love you more, sweetheart. Ready for bed?”
“Yes, mama.” She nodded tiredly.
“Go change into your pj’s, I’ll be right there.” You instructed softly, lifting her off your lap. Adriana blinked sleepily. You hooked your pinky through hers. “Hey, what do we say?”
Your daughter smiled instantly. “It’s us against da world.”
“Always, darling. Always.” You kissed her forehead before ushering her off to her bedroom. Once she disappeared, you stood up with shaky sigh. Daniela immediately searched for your eyes.
“I don’t want you to feel pressured to take on this responsibility. For any of you. If it’s too much, I can leave and-“
“No.” Your girlfriend whispered, voice cracking. You stopped as she walked up to you, grabbing your hands in hers. “The day I asked you to be my girlfriend, I made a promise to love you as you are, no matter what came with that. And I mean it.” Daniela nods firmly. “I’d love to be a part of Adriana’s life. We all would.”
“Really? Are you sure?” You searched the room.
Each girl had soft eyes paired with a loving smile as they nodded so surely.
You fiddled with your fingers as you tried not to smile so widely. “Thank you, guys. I love you all so much.”
“I love you, mi corázon.”
“MAMA! I BWUSHED MY TEETHS!”
Everyone laughed loudly as you smiled. You grabbed Daniela’s hand. “Want to help me out her down for bed?”
She nodded and followed you down the hallway. There was Adriana sitting on the bed like a patient toddler, eyes lighting up when you and Dani walk through the door.
“What book would you like tonight?” You asked gently, crouching beside her bed as you tucked her safely under her covers.
“Can the pwetty lady pick?”
Daniela flushed red, chuckling nervously as you glanced at her. “Sure, sweetie.” She walked over to the bookshelf, selecting a princess book—classic—and crouched beside you as well.
As Daniela began reading the story, Adriana’s eyes started to drop until they fully closed, soft snores leaving her tiny lips. Dani read until the book came to an end, closing it with one hand and setting it aside.
The girls watched from the doorway.
“Can I be honest?” Daniela whispers to you.
“Of course.”
She smiled softly, pulling you against her chest. “Being a mom really suits you. You’re… perfect. And I’m really excited to be a part of it now.”
You eyes shined with happy tears. “I’m so glad I don’t have to hide anymore.”
She cupped your face gently, kissing the tears away. “Mi amor, you never have to in the first place.”

Daniela x PA!reader:
The best way to describe falling in love with you is a sneak attack. Daniela made her attraction to you very known since the beginning. She had only ever dated men before you and it was easy to keep things light with them. So she tried to do the same with you, light, hot and flirty cause she truly thought it can’t be that different loving a woman to loving a man, right? WRONG. Because light and flirty switched to serious and intimate within a second.
She tried to keep you away from her darker moments, especially when you were working 12+ hours on your feet on set. After a rough day of seeing so much hate online, she tried to hide and bury it when you texted her the moment you finished. But you being the person you are, you realized in a simple text that something was off. You bought takeout and flowers then immediately headed to her place despite the long hours you worked. When she opened the door and saw you standing there with a bag full of food, flowers in your hands and a smile on your face, love snuck up on her in a way that it never did before. Did she tell you immediately? No…but she knew at that moment that she was in deep.
(Read Lean on Me for first I love you. Hint: next fic for Daniela’s industry reader is FLUFF.)
Sophia x actor!reader:
I think a part of Sophia had always loved you. From the moment you met to the moment the both of you confessed to each other, she loved you. The type of love might have differed but love was always the constant.
If she had to pinpoint a moment that it changed to romantic love, it would have to be when she saw you and Maria, a fellow classmate, talking to one another. Talking would be an understatement to her though. Maria was heavily flirting with you but you were just too oblivious (or secretly in love with Sophia) to notice. Sophia stomped right up to you two and dragged you away into an empty classroom. You questioned Sophia and when she couldn’t give you an answer, you left. Sophia felt a real fear of losing you as not just a friend, but her soulmate. She had always loved you; it just took almost losing you for her to realize it.
(Hint: next fic for Sophia’s industry reader is Angsty love story lore - pre Dream Academy)
Megan x dancer!reader:
Love was an interesting thing for Megan. She only ever had short relationships that never cultivated into a real love so when she started dating you, she started to feel so many emotions that she felt like she fell in love the day the two of you official got together.
Since the moment you made it official, you made it your number one duty to shower Megan in the support and comfort she deserved. You made Megan feel like she was number 1 in your life, something she never felt with anyone. She felt safe with you. Safe to be weird, silly and loud but also have her lows of quiet where she needed to stay in her head for a little bit. To Megan, you showed her that love is safety and for that, how couldn’t she let herself fall. It felt like she was constantly falling deeper in love with you more and more everyday until she was so in love with you that it slipped out at the most random moment.
(Hint: next solo fic for Megan’s industry reader will be fluff)
Manon x photographer!reader:
It took a while for Manon to actually realize that she was in love with you. Manon is stubborn. Stubborn and convincing. It’s not the best combo to have when you’re having casual sex with your best friend. So yes, it took her very, very long to realize she was in love with you, even when you were screaming it to her face.
After the big fight that happened between the two of you before you left for Switzerland, it took a week for Manon to come to terms with her feelings for you. It may have taken longer if the girls and Sophie hadn’t come over everyday to knock it into her. Manon was convinced that she was devastated that she lost her best friend. All the sex was simply that…just sex. Because if you were in love with her the whole time, it would mean that the emotions she would feel during it was more than just sexual bliss. The girls and Sophie were practically soundboards for Manon to talk out her emotions until she finally put together that yes, she was indeed madly in love with you. The universe allowed her time to grow until it brought her back to you.
(See Beyond the Lens part 1 and part 2 for some context. Hint: Next fic will be some FLUFF)
Lara x stuntdriver!reader:
Lara knew she was in love with you the 2nd time you almost died. Yes…the 2nd. The first time was scary enough that it won you a first date with her. The second one was bad enough that it shook something within both of you.
You developed a bad hero complex when it came to Lara and your career. It's a constant push and pull of you believing Lara is better off without you because of how dangerous your life is vs. how much you needed to be around her cause you were falling for her too. Lara knew she was falling but held herself back with how messy the situation would get. The whirlwind of emotions you two go through was nothing compared to the emotions after your accident. A stunt gone wrong that landed you almost paralyzed. A slight turn to the right and you would have been done for. Realizing she almost lost you, pushed her to confront that she was in love with you and losing you would have broken her.
(Hint: the next fic for Lara’s industry reader is ANGST)
Author’s Note: I know this is not the post you guys were hoping to get. Updates on The Book of Ofur Life and Fallin All in You will continue once I get better at managing my crazy schedule. Pairing: Lara Raj x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of war and injuries, discussion of war. There's a mention of a burning scar... Or a few mentions.
Tags: Fire Nation!Lara, Fire Nation!Warrior!Reader, Angst (a little bit), very slow burn, only physical mention is of the reader having amber eyes. I think that's all, but let me know if I'm missing something.
