Masa, like tens of thousands of other babies in Gaza, relies on formula to survive. Today, Nader told me that this little girl is in the hospital now due to a severe chest infection. She is only 8 days old. Please help her.

there's like a specific kind of misogyny in media that really grates on me almost more than anything else. its when a male character is overtly misogynistic and the narrative frames this as a bad quality, but the presence of misogyny + any female characters in the cast only exist to provide characterization and depth for the man. its like a sleight of hand trick where you pretend to be Commenting on gender relations without ever actually having to do something icky like flesh out the interiority of a complex female character. or god forbid make a female character the protagonist/pov.

i just think 9/10 times "what if these characters settled down into a comfortable domestic situation" is one of the least interesting ways to examine a dynamic. but i understand that, and i mean this in the most neutral way possible, being interesting is not the actual point of most people's fanworks and media interpretation. i will still be complaining about it though.

now obviously im saying this as a person who is pro polyamory but it really is crazy how 90% of men's version of ~Nonmonogamy~ is just 'i get to cheat on you with no consequences' lolllllllll. don't act like you Dislike Traditional Relationships you just want to regress to the even older tradition of women being disposable property who had to put up with pretty much any and everything the men in their life did

any time a man exhibits any positive trait or behavior it will be attributed to his "healthy masculinity", but this is especially true when the trait/behavior in question is something traditionally seen as feminine. when a man does things such as caring for his children and spouse, being gentle, or being nurturing, it will never prompt the average person to reconsider their stance on men being Feminine let alone the idea of gendering behavior to begin with. it will only ever result in the concept of masculinity being laundered in real-time to subsume any and all qualities a person generally regards highly. we can not let 'masculinity' be a rhetorical stand-in for being an admirable person, even if we stick the word 'healthy' in front of it. if we concede that we need a special term for being a decent human being As A Man then i fear we concede the most basic premise of feminism alongside it.
