as in with the zombies or without? if the zombie apocalypse happened right now, that would be horrifying. if the 2003 us government was stupid enough to think that bombing atlanta was a good idea, i shudder to think of what the 2026 us government would do to manage the zombies.

without zombies, i usually think of the ericson's crew in the early 2010's. they would be in their 30's right now (making them millenials lol). aj could still be an ipad kid i guess, but he's a pretty restless kid so i think he would probably do sports or something to get the energy out. aj's real passion is art so i'd like to think he'd make comics with tenn.

as for clem, i have no idea why the fanon consensus is that she'd be a jock??? i personally think she'd be kinda prep-adjacent because she actually likes school and i think she would be active in school events. i think melissa hutchison said she thought clem would be a photographer if the apocalypse never happened but i can't find the interview right now. photography's perfect for clem because it's artsy and because it's something she can do outdoors or with the school. i think clem would work the school's yearbook and maybe even get violet to "help her." (i. e. make violet go to school events so violet can steal all the free food + contrive a 'productive' reason to hang out with violet more)

louis would definitely be a theatre kid. minnie would be a choir kid (choir specifically because they're weirdly intense) that's looking to join the military after high school. i think violet would have a job in something techy like repair and be really into scifi or fantasy. aasim would be a history buff, ruby would do pre-med, mitch would be weirdly good at chemistry, omar would cook, and marlon would actually be a jock (there's a pic of him and louis in sports uniforms). given the weed sticker on her toolbox, sophie could be a stoner. i'm not really too sure about brody or willy honestly.
