The implication that Simonâs magic has that affect on Bazâs body, when he only has some of it and itâs temporary, also has implications for Simonâs body once he loses all of that magic.
Heâs been fighting for years and his magic has been holding his body together with scotch tape and a prayer, so when he loses his magic all of the consequences of years of fighting and pushing his body hit all at once. Simon is Like That after the first book in part because heâs having a catastrophic level flare up and his body will never be the same in more ways than he thought, actually.

Simon being so hard headed that he refuses to let Baz pay for a single thing on their first date, despite knowing that Baz can easily pay for the whole date. Despite Baz showing up in designer. Despite the fact that Simon can barely afford groceries most weeks.
He refuses to accept Bazâs offer to pay because heâs weird like that. He hates feeling like heâs in debt. All his life heâs felt like he owes everyone something. Owes the whole world for his mere existence. A debt he could never repay, a bar he could never live up to. So he controls it where he can.
Growing up in care homes where the had nothing to his name really taught him to keep everything to close to his chest, both emotionally and literally. As an adult he has to restrain himself from the habit of stockpiling foodâthe compulsion to hoard anything he may needâbecause what if it all goes to shit again? What if he ends up with nothing and no way out?
It takes him years to heal from those rough days. Itâs months before heâll even let Baz buy him a coffee, let alone a gift. But Baz takes it as it is, he wonât push Simonâs boundaries unless Simon lets him. But one day Baz will spoil Simon with all heâs got. Show him how much worth he really has, and not just with material things.
Spoil him with love, too.

i love remembering that snowbaz are canonically married and thinking about how they names are now. simon snow salisbury-pitch and tyrannus basilton grimm-pitch-salisbury? i honestly think a lot about simon adding the cadwallader or not to his name... this leads to a much deeper discussion about how he feels about davy and its very complicated bc simon truly loved him but is also aware of how bad he was so i dont know if he would add his dad name, and also dont know if he would add the grimm too. now for baz, i think he loves simon so much and he definitely added his surname, but he also loves the impact of the 'grimm-pitch' at the end so i think he would keep his name as tyrannus basilton salisbury grimm-pitch.
