#simon snow

I know I haven’t known Simon long, but I’m taken aback by his tone. He stressed to me that we have to be polite to customers, that it’s a Snow’s Ice Cream Tradition---friendly service and all that. And also, like I said, Simon seems like a real surfer dude, very laid back. But right now he sounds like he wants to punch this guy in the face. “Um…what can I get you?” I say, floundering, as Simon and Fancy Sunglasses keep staring at each other. My first customer, and I’m already screwing up! “Ring him up first,” Simon repeats angrily. “But why?” I whisper. “You said ring people up after they get their cone!” “Not him!” “It’s fine,” Fancy Sunglasses says to me. “I’ll pay.” He looks at the list for a long time, longer than I’d expect someone to need to, while Simon huffs impatiently beside me. “If you don’t mind, my break is coming up,” Simon finally growls. “I can handle this if you need to take your break,” I offer. “No,” they both say in unison, and Simon goes back to glaring.
