This is not a pair of rusty beer cans, it's "Painted Bronze" created by American artist Jasper Johns in 1960. DSC00456A by Skatole Grudnick Via Flickr: The turtle in the image is a Red-eared slider (Trachemys scripta elegans)... I think. We saw a pair while walking the dog along Hamilton Run, Hagerstown on a warm (78F) late winters day. I had not observed a turtle this large out of a zoo.
