Echo: What do you think? *phases a hologram over herself* One piece? *shifts hologram* Two piece? *shifts hologram* Monokini? *shifts hologram*  I’m quite partial to the frills...

Baptiste: *snorts* You know, you’re probably the only person I know who puts on clothes for the beach.

Echo: *excited* You think I’m a person!?

Baptiste: *uncomfortable look*

Echo: ...I said something strange again, didn’t I?

Baptiste: ...a little? *rubs the back of his head* It’s just... I don’t always know how to respond to how you see things. 

Echo: But you are a person--I mean... I feel like I can trust you with regards to perceptions of personhood.

Baptiste: *snort* I know it’s just... It scares me. Being able to think of yourself as a person one moment and then the next...

Echo: *head tilt*

Baptiste: ...never mind.

Echo: *expectant look* 

Baptiste: Just... orders and programming.. it’s terrifyingly easy to take yourself out of it.

Echo: *glances down* ...I’m frightened of what I look like without Liao’s programming. Without her influence. Omnics asserted we have the equivalent of human souls... but what is there that wasn’t put there?

Baptiste: ...good to know it’s scary for everyone.

Echo: *excited* Free will is terrifying! I’m so excited to share it with you!

Baptiste: *sputtering laugh*

Baptiste: I should probably be more worried at how you always seem to know where I am no matter how far off the grid I go… buuuut I appreciate the scarf. Thank you.
