Para 1998, Televicentro de PR (WAPA) ya transmitía varias series de anime, como La isla del tesoro, Los caballeros del zodiaco y Zenki.

Telemundo, el cual ya presentaba Samurai X los sábados en la manaña, introduce un programa, con  la animación de Chevy, con las dos series mas pegás en USA, Pokemón y Dragonball Z.

Al ver que consiguen excelentes ratings, el canal de Hato Rey adquiere varias series entre 1999 y 2003: Ranma ½, Slam Dunk, las dos series de Orphen y Doraemon. Las primeras tres se difundieron en su totalidad. Inclusive trajeron hasta a Heidi.

Ni lento ni perezoso el canal 11, en plena transición de Teleonce a Univisión, contraprogramaba con Tico de los siete mares, La leyenda del Zorro, El libro de la selva y Yam Yam y el genio.

Mientras tanto el canal del Gobierno de Puerto Rico te ponía a madrugar para ver series retro como La máquina del tiempo, Blue Noah, Conan, el niño del futuro, el Capitán Centella y Dai Apolón.

Hasta Teleoro (canal 13) tenía anime (Los Robotrabajadores)

El final de boom fue súbito, sin avisar. De los canales mencionados, Telemundo era el único que amenizaba de animación japonesa a las masas infantiles en 2003, aunque fuesen 5 series apachurradas en 2 horas un domingo. Prendo el televisor el primer domingo de abril 2003 y veo que decidieron regresar a las caricaturas clásicas.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

The pronouns xe/xem/xyr are credited to Don Rickter who first used them in a Unitarian Universalist publication in May 1973! There are several variant spellings of these pronouns.

Complete Set:

Objective: Xe

Subjective: Xem

Possessive Adjective: Xyr

Possessive Pronoun: Xyrs

Reflexive: Xemself

Note: I’ve occasionally seen “xyrself” as the reflexive of this set. I’ll be using “xemself” in this post because it follows the convention of reflexive pronouns being [subjective pronoun] + -self suffix.

Examples:

They asked me → Xe asked me

I answered them → I answered xem

This was their request → This was xyr request

That book is theirs  → That book is xyrs

They love themself → Xe loves xemself

He asked me → Xe asked me

I answered him → I answered xem

This was her request → This was xyr request

That book is hers  → That book is xyrs

He loves himself → Xe loves xemself

Tips:

In English, an “x” at the beginning of a word is pronounced like a “z”– think of words like xylophone, xenon, etc.

I’ve generally heard “xyr” pronounced to rhyme with “her,” but it could also rhyme with “here,” so be sure to ask for clarification if someone you know uses xe/xem/xyr!

A common mistake I see is people swapping the possessive adjective “xyr” with the contraction for “xe is.” Remember, it’s “they’re going home,” not “their going home,” so for xe/xem, it’s “xe’s going home,” not “xyr going home.”

I was two years together con my cutesy pet cat, Grelot. I still remember when I used to watch him when he was about to do something. I used to feed him whenever there was little food on his plate. I used to take him out to play in my backyard every time he meowed at my door.

Then today, something very depressing happened: my mom yelled at me, telling me to take my cat to the vet. We saw him and then we realized something terrible: my cat, after exactly 32 months alive, died of cardiac arrest. The worst part was that it happened out of nowhere.

My cat played a very crucial role in my life. He was a very cutesy cat, with beautiful meows and adorable purrs whenever he slept with me. He was a personal gift for me, which we will never see again nowadas

Thank you so much for accompanying me for over two years. You will be missed so much.
