I need to make an appreciation post for the one fanfiction that has taught me more life lessons in a wide range of topics than any other piece of literature could begin to cover. Crimson Rivers by bizarrestars (I think they changed their name on AO3?? I’m not entirely sure so apologies if that’s the wrong name) No amount of words can express how grateful I am to the author for working months on end to create that masterpiece and share it with the world.
Despite already being educated in these topics prior to reading, Crimson Rivers taught me compassion, empathy, patience despite all the violence. A striking scene that really showed me patience was Regulus’ recovery chapters after the first arena, I’m not entirely sure what it was and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pin point it, but those chapters taught me so much. Just the healing journeys of all the characters deeply resonated with me. It opened a chamber in my heart, one of enhanced empathy. Not like I never knew how to handle a friend having a mental breakdown in school, but this work helped me in too many ways to count.
I doubt I’m the only one that feels this way, but I was compelled to just salute the person who both broke and healed everyone who read their work.
Thank you @starsworth 🫡
P.S. idk how the author feels about being tagged🥲 sorry ZarðŸ˜
