New caterpillar discovered called a "bone collector caterpillar" that hides out in spiders nests by disguising itself as dead body parts and then steals all the spider's food when it isn't looking
nobody respects the genealogy of ideas. if you tell people words come out of history and are attached to different forms of material power and domination they immediately throw a temper tantrum

There is something so beautiful about reaching out to the monstrous with intent to touch it gently. To risk the sharp teeth and the lethal claws, to defy fear and revulsion, and choose to be delicate with something that can be, and often is, incredibly brutal.
This is how I feel about big old dangerous machines. Printing presses and gristly farm equipment and ancient elevators. You know one job and no mercy

Butler, Due, Wideman and Morrison have found in the spirit-child fount, indeed in “[the] human drama “ that is the experience of born-to-die, what Houston A. Baker Jr., describing the blues matrix, appropriately calls “the symbolically anthropological”. They have mobilized aspects of this mythic spectacle of spirit-versus-humans as cultural mnemonics. They re-channel it’s epistemic frequencies also to frame characters, design narrative interiors, and negotiate inextricably racial, historical, gendered, maternal, political, philosophic, and artistic questions related to the lives of Africans and their descendants enslaved in a hostile New World and still unjustly treated in both life and totalizing white-master narratives.
As Jacqueline de Weever writes, in concurrence with such literary appropriation, “The experiences of black peoples in the New World, into which they have been forcibly thrust against their will, cannot be told or treated in realistic or naturalistic traditions in which much of American literature has been cast - the pain of the results of three centuries of oppression is too great to be faced and confronted in a realistic mode. Such an experience demands another mode for which mythic narrative is more appropriate. “
Walter Mosley could not agree more. He believes that those racial plights of which de Weever speaks account for black writers attraction to science fiction. “The genre speaks to those who have been made to feel powerless… Black people have been cut off from their African ancestry by the scythe of slavery and from an American heritage by being excluded from history. For us, science [and mythic] fiction offers an alternative where that which deviates from the norm is the norm”.

They call me Johnny Six-Bowls. No, I don't smoke weed, it's - yeah, I know. It's cause when I cook I need a buncha those little bowls to put my stuff in. You know, cut up veggies and stuff. What's the word. Mise en place. Yeah. So I gotta have a bunch of em with stuff all prepped before I start. Elsewise it's all chaos. Anyway. You here to duel? Or should I give you head
bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental
