Tremble In Fear!

she has to agree. perhaps it’s their own faults for staying out far later than they should have, but… it’s hard to shake the allure of the ikea and its meatball cafe. nearl and her newfound companion are hardly to blame for–she’ll call it natural curiosity.

she’d heard the doors lock and ignored it, too interested in inspecting a bunk bed/desk combo; she had not been able to ignore the way the intercom crackled to life, and a polite female voice said only BEGIN.

“you don’t need to swear about it,” is all nearl has to say at first, before straightening up and casting a glance at the man. “maybe it’s just a staff announcement.”

yeah, right.

Giovanni’s internal wondering whether him picking up a chair and smashing it against the lock while saying ‘ALL STAR’ would work to dislodge it and provide them freedom: honestly, he’d only come here to see if they had a cool racing car bed like he had at home: though he’d been so busy looking that the doors locking on the two of them had come as a rather rude shock.

Though, the companion who’d been locked in with him and heard his opinion about the intercom’s simple ominous statement sure did have an opinion about this!! “Just a staff announcement, after we got LOCKED IN? I don’t think ya really believe whatchya just said to me there, honestly...you think breaking one’a the windows would be a quick way out, or would that be too easy?”

         “Yeah,”        Annabeth    answers,    clearly    disinterested    in    the    opposed    as    her    gray    eyes    examine    every     inch    of     the     fake    weapon.     She’s    not     INTENTIONALLY     being    dismissive,    it’s    just    an    UNFORTUNATE    SIDE   EFFECT.      She    looks    up    from    the    sword,    finally.           “You    could    deflate    it     and    use    it    to    choke    a    monster    if    you    REALLY    wanted    to.”

“By the time I deflated this, the monster’d probably be all up in my face, though, yeesh...” As one-braincell only as he is, this time he has a point, it seems, he sighing in his usual dramatic manner before pausing, pink eyes curious. “By the way, don’t think I gotchya name...?”

     “So it’s called… Lav-acid?”

     People with supernatural abilities were few and far between where Hikari came from. In truth, they didn’t exist at all. Unless you counted those discount ‘fortune tellers’ and ‘psychics’ that appeared on tv sometimes. The theater productions she did sometimes had roles with magic; all of it was just stage effects and lighting. Didn’t do much for her sense of imagination.

     Meeting someone with actual magical powers, though… It was different. Unnatural, but in a good way. Maybe he could help her with her own newfound… Blessings? Gifts? It was confusing just to think about it.

     Curiosity piqued, the stage girl gives a tilt of her head. “…What does it do? Melt stuff?“ Obviously.

Now, meeting up with someone curious about powers, Giovanni had sensed the potential of possible NEW MINION recruitment: that, and - boasting of all the amazing and powerful stuff he could do with his FEROCIOUS AND BLAZING LAVA was never something that he’d turn down, so it was a win-win situation all around!! Grinning widely at the stranger’s assumption, he nodded. “Bringing my blistering lava to boiling point comes in handy for many a situation, of course! I can even control the temperature and give my minions the lava to grant them AMAZING POWER.” Well, warding off sickness was a totally legit and AWESOME power, especially if it protected his boys, in his opinion!! “Sooo, what about you, stranger? THE GREAT GIOVANNI will be gracious and grant pointers, but I gotta know more about whatchya power IS, first.” Knowing the powers of potential minions was important anyway! 

                “This    is     almost   INSULTING,”         Annabeth    mutters    under    her    breath,    turning    the    light-up    sword    in    her    hands.    It    could    be    worse,    and    she    could    do    damage    with    this    POTENTIALLY,    IF    SHE    WANTED    TO,    but…    Come     ON.             “It    LIGHTS    UP    when    you    hit    it    on     something.    Seriously?!    It’s    so    STUPID.”

“At least yours actually still HURTS sometimes if you hit with it!” (He lifts up the inflatable kid’s bat he got to show his point further to the other, with a pout.) “I have to swing REALLY hard to do anything with this, how am I supposed to protect my BOYS from the big monster if they go around at night without my PROPER bat, huhh?”

“Well, mister Epithet user -”  (seems like he thinks Legosi’s apperance is due to an ‘epithet’ and is thus treating him the same as everyone else, whatever an ‘epithet’ is...) “- I’d bet your level’a fun is also different in definition! Every person has their own spin on it, their own strengths: and experiencing other people’s views helps you grow as a whole, I reckon!”

Wow. A rare occurence...Giovanni actually saying something smart because he USED his one brain cell - though that affect is ruined as he talks again, that huge grin on his face.

“It’ll be fine, yeah!!  I totally don’t believe all ghosts are as ‘bad’ as people claim anyways! The nerd’s uncle married a ghost, so how much scarier is ANY other ghost supposed to be? I reckon they need someone to talk to and help ‘em out sometimes too, also talking to specters just sounds SOOO AWESOME, RIGHT? I’d love to make pals with a ghost!”He seems very excited about something any normal, sane person would be probably spooked of. Oh dear.

“HECK yeah, knowing I have one of my trusted allies and boys in checking out the cool edgy spooky stuff is amazing - we can investigate it together! Now, most important thing is we gotta make sure we carry weapons of viable defence, do you have your version of the SOUL SLUGGER DOOM BAT with ya, man? Let’s see what goes down!!”

Who is this other loud chaotic fellow with the admittedly rad cape?? The other’s posturing and big voice presence immediately ignite a fiery rage. Does he think he could be a bolder, better goose than the Goose?!?!

Rivalry- nay- War is clearly the only answer!

Thus the goose charges forward, wings spread wide as he honks furiously. Have at thee, knave!

Feeling exceedingly pleased at himself at having been the prime source of so much amazing soup-er chaos and chatter earlier today, the stride of the GREAT AND TERRIBLE GIOVANNI was indeed prideful as he sauntered to the sage temple to leave a little present - he was in a generous mood with having caused his dose of SHENANIGANS today, so he wanted to share it!

||  █ ▌— prompto is relieved to find someone who gets it, really. the food options he’s seen kinda suck, and not in the comfort food way, where the food might be awful but it still reminds him of good times or friends or anything like that. no, it’s all just… mediocre. or at least everything within his price range is, anyway. it’s tough, being an underpaid servant of the crown.

not… that he’s being paid by noct out here. or back home for that matter.

Yeah, as a MASTER of home-cooking himself, he’s pretty sure he knows the details of getting other folk to come and show their faces, but he still appreciates the thought of the spiky-haired guy nonetheless: a great BAD DUDE appreciates constructive things given to him! Wait: HOLD ON ONE MINUTE. Did - did this guy just assume he was a innocent little chef? Giovanni opens his mouth, but his one brain cell happens upon an idea, the rare kind he doesn’t get much with his lack of brain cells to begin with. He can totally still BE the BAD DUDE as well, but to have a secret front while he’s not on the job and a place to potentially hide his BAD GUY hideout in the back of with how normal and INNOCENT it looks - it would be VERY helpful! That, and NOBODY would see the impending plots and loitering coming! “...Of COURSE. I’M GIOVANNI POTAGE, MASTER OF SOUP-SORCERY, OR SOUP-ERY, FOR SHORT! IT’S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU, POTENTIAL CUSTOMER! Uh....what is your name?” 

“if you think about it, we’re just breadbowls.”

“All breadbowls waiting for soup or INSPIRATIONAL things to fill us up....so deep...” He’s nodding thoughtfully. He doesn’t look the least bit sorry for starting this mess technically, either.

“If we are all bread bowls and soups, then who’s the spoon?”

“Whoever wants to be and believes most in their heart can be! Even you could be! You can do ANYTHING if ya put your mind to it!” It’s encouraging, if not...simple advice.

“So if we’re going by that basis, would that make s’mores… Sandwiches?”

“...Your mind is SUPER amazing! The tiniest and most delicious of sandwiches, but still beloved and dear in our minds....you’re really good at this too, mwahah!” That’s a genuine compliment, even if he only clearly has the one brain cell.

“We’re still talking about this?” …Didn’t you add fuel to the fire earlier with that ‘tea is leaf soup’ comment? Or did you forget about that?

“Says the guy who said tea is leaf soup earlier!! It’s okay to take credit for the amazing idea!” Giovanni didn’t forget, and he’ll bring it up unashamedly.

“…..” “Why are you guys calling different things soup?”

“Haven’t you ever wondered as to the GREAT mysteries of food and wanted to figure out what stuff counts as other stuff? I think it’s a fun mystery - more fun than just sitting around, anywaay!”
