i’m living in a very particular hellscape in which people who live across the street from me blast really loud fucking music either from their apartment with their balcony door open or from 1-3 cars parked in front of my building. Over the last six months I’ve talked to them probably 5-10 times & I’ve gotten them weirdly hitting on me or they’ve been openly drunk & laughing at me (mind you these are several men who are Bigger Than Me and it is Not Fun). I’ve filed probably around 5-7 noise complaints but the city has up to 8 hrs to respond to noise complaints and they always use the full 8 hrs so of course the motherfuckers are done by then. 311 just tells me to keep calling in noise complaints until the timing lines up one day and they catch them (but what’ll that do??? they tell them to turn it down once like that’s gonna do anything??). and a new development, some dudes with dirt bikes (in nyc????) have taken a liking to zooming up and down my street because i guess speed bumps are fun. anyway, i want to move.
