BAFTA Movie Poster Illustrations

BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) commissions an artist every year to produce a series of posters for the five nominees in the Best Film category. This year the opportunity and the honor to design the poster series came to freelance illustrator Levente Szabó from Budapest, Hungary who did an exceptional job. Kudos to him!

Antiquated diplomas and certificates hold as much value as discarded trinkets these days, yet the impossible dream of purchasing fundamental human traits like self-respect, honesty and empathy live on. Who has not dreamed of buying care or self-confidence for a loved one by the dozen? This is an inescapable state of human nature.

Hence, emerged from a fascination for the 19th century certificates and bills, in 2015 Swindler & Swindler came up with this enviable project.

These stunning compositions have been created as a result of two contrasting styles of designs forming a uniformity, a rare sight in the graphic world, between type and ornamentation. They are a combination of Mr. Swindler’s type work of precision, control & rigor, and Mrs Swindler’s ornamental style of poetry, movement & smoothness.
