might've been a nightmare.

               “ Do you really think people are going to hurt themselves at an open bar ? “   she asks, grinning at the girl.  “ Really ? “   Kass glances down at her feet, wiggling her toes, as if they’re saying hello to her.   “ I don’t own antiperspirant, but I might have to buy some now.  I’m assuming deodorant doesn’t do the trick ? “   she adds, looking back up at her. 

"People around here hardly need the extra encouragement.” It’s a wonder she doesn’t hear about people going to the infirmary more often. Then again, a lot of students probably have a friend or two in med who will patch them up without all the fuss. “I mean...it wouldn’t hurt but...not sure you want to do that to your deodorant, anyways.”

           “  at least you made an effort  -  and i can  barely  tell it’s a mock  ,   and you look amazing  ,   so  .  ”   blonde shrugs  ,   placing a finger against her pink pout as she glances towards the other  .     “  what’s said in the girl’s bathroom  stays  in the girl’s bathroom  .  ”    amelia’s all about secrets  ,   even the little ones  .     “  thanks !  it was actually  surprisingly hard  to find one this color  .   but i really am just a sucker for the aesthetic .  ”  

                francis really needed a break from all the dread , a good party to do the trick.  he swore he wouldn’t drink as much and then he called himself a liar and drank a shot.  eyes widen then narrow as the woman approaches him , it even takes him a while , “ four fingers and a thumb — oh wait. “ he looks up at her , “ oh shit gracia ! “ he exclaims with a large grin.  “ did i ever tell you that you’re my favorite roommate ? “

“no,”  he  grumbles  stubbornly  –  though  he  follows,  because  gravity  is  a  ting  and  even  in  times  of  defiance,  he  does  as  he’s  told.  enzo  doesn’t  even  remember  what  he  was  doing  before  this,  but  the  name  of  his  friend  is  enough  to  make  him  nod.  "caden’s  good  at  drinking.“  and  good  at  making  drinks,  apparently,  because  the  kid  can’t  currently  feel  his  legs.  "well  what  if  i  wanna  break  my  nose?”  but  hes  grateful  for  her  presence  anyways,  otherwise  there’d  be  a  lot  more  blood  on  him  right  now  -  then  elena  would  really  be  mad  at  him  for  messing  up  his  outfit.  "are  you  havin’  fun?“

"yeah, okay,” she says mostly to herself, rolling her eyes. at least he isn’t confrontational when drunk. she’s stronger than she looks but he probably is, too. “that’s not something to brag about.” gracia has never tried to change caden, not even when they were dating, but she’s going to say something to him about this. enzo is clearly susceptible to peer pressure and she has a bad feeling about why. “what are you, twelve?” she scoffs. gracia crosses her arms over her chest and shrugs. “yeah, sure. this party is a perpetual death trap, it seems like, so it’s a good thing i’m here.”

                  Kass looked up at the sound of the sigh, always ALERT to make a new friend, especially one in distress.   “ Do you need a band-aid ? “   her eyebrows raised, checking out the girl from head to toe, looking for injuries.  “ I have one in my purse, if you need it.  It’s not big though, it’s for the inevitable blisters these shoes will give me. “ 

Gracia laughed and shook her head. “Sounds like you need it more than I do. Next time Gallagher throws a party with an open bar, I will be packing extra band-aids. And I know it sounds weird, but if you spray your feet with antiperspirant, the blisters might not be so bad. You know...for next time.”

“It always comes back to the accent,” Cole joked in return.

He stretched his neck, eager to put away the books for now and instead return to human interaction again. “Fair point, hopefully that doesn’t come around to bite me in the ass sometime,” he mused. “How are you, Gracia?”

"You know how Americans feel about British accents,” she said, as if that statement meant anything. “Hard not to pay them special attention.”

                 “ It doesn’t have to be WHOLESOME, “   Caden offered with a smirk, because was it really him if he didn’t make that comment ?   But his heart wasn’t completely in it, because he knew her response before he even said it.   “ I heard there are secret passageways around here, we could go find some.  Maybe one will bring us to busting out of here. “

                  “ Has it snowed recently ? “   Caden echoes slowly, to make it clear how much he thinks it’s a DUMB question.   “ I mean, I haven’t looked outside in the past… two, maybe three hours ?   But not that I’m aware, no.  At least not enough to build a snowman. “ 

“depends  on  how  you’d  react  if  i  was.”  he’s  not  an  idiot  ;  he  doesn’t  pick  fights  he  know  for  a  fact  he  can’t  win,  and  it’s  apparent  the  older  is  willing  to  push  back.“you’ll  workshop  it,”  he  grumbles  but  it  seems  there’s  no  use  in  fighting  her  on  ..  well,  anything,  anymore  -  gracia  is  going  to  do  what  she  likes,  and  enzo  just  has  to  do  what  he  can  about  it.  nose  scrunches,  but  he  lets  that  part  of  the  topic  drop.  not  worth  it.  "but  why  are  you  willing  me?  i  don’t  get  it,“  maybe  because  he’s  all  over  the  place  when  it  comes  to  any  kind  of  social  interaction.

"i’d just have to prove you wrong, nothing to worry about.” enzo doesn’t have the most interesting specializations, in her opinion, but if she saw him roll a car without serious injury, she’d call that pretty impressive. perhaps even special. “if you want to hear whatever it is i come up with all by myself for the rest of your life, that’s your choice. i’d be happy to do all the work. i think cavby is in the lead now.” gracia will, really, be thinking about this for at least the rest of the day. “you don’t have to talk to more people if you don’t want to. you just never know what you’re missing out on, that’s all. i’m definitely not implying you’re not happy with the friends you already have.”

He furrowed his brow. “I suppose that is what I made it sound like, didn’t I? I should work on my jokes.”

Cole took the eraser, working on his paper as well as his conversation. “Unfortunately, I was a bit clumsy that day, that’s all there is to it. Do you not have off days?”

"Sorry, it’s the accent. I’ll always assume you’re being very serious,” she said with a purposely strong tone of sarcasm.

            “  are we like  ,   a  100 PERCENT SURE  i can’t stay here forever  ?  ”    this is how they over overcompensate for the  panic  running through their veins  ,   the sound of their blood  PUMPING  in their ear as they tries to ignore the fact that if she doesn’t take all the classes they needs to this semester  ,   they  certainly  won’t graduate in time  -  and they can’t be having  that  .   black nail polished hands rest against the old wood of the hallway  ,    to cover  TREMBLING  that would happen if they took it off support  .     “  i can’t believe i never knew of this place  ,   i’d go here for the  architecture  alone  .  ”   

“y'got  the  wrong  kid,  then.”  and  well  well  well  ..  isn’t  that  just  sad  -  enzo,  yet  again,  putting  himself  down.  if  that  was  an  olympic  sport,  he’d  had  bronze,  silver  and  gold  by  now.  "that  makes  sense.“  it  didn’t,  not  to  enzo,  but  the  less  time  he  spent  thinking  about  human  anatomy  the  better  for  everyone  around.  "though  ’m  just  kinda  surprised  that  they  chose  a  pig  -  but  still,  makes  sense.”  there’s  a  reason  why  he’s  not  in  that  specialization  and  it  shows  ;  the  sight  of  blood  makes  him  want  to  vomit,  and  having  seen  broken  bones  is  ..  his  worst  nightmare,  mostly.  it’s  gross  and  he  doesn’t  like  to  think  about  any  of  it.  "is  that  s'posed  to  be  some  kind  of  psychology  method  to  get  me  to  admit  that  i  want  people  to  pry?  'cause  it  ain’t  true.“

"are you questioning my judgment?” she’s not sure if he really believes that (doesn’t everyone in this place think they’re the shit?) but it’s okay, she’ll get him there eventually. “that’s pretty rude, baby cavanagh. baby cav? baycav? we’ll workshop it.” great, now she has to think of a list of nicknames and study for finals. “thanks, i know.” naturally, she knows more about her major than he would. but gracia understands the limits of her expertise, too. she’s not a full fledged medical professional by any stretch of the imagination. “no, i’m telling you that asking other people about themselves isn’t the same as prying, and you should try it sometime.”
