I hardly did anything yesterday - I spent most of the day reading fanfiction and yelling to my friends about The X-Files lol (in case you haven’t heard - Mulder and Scully finally screwed which if you haven’t watched the show is an Achievement given that it’s been 25 years lol). I left the house at 11pm to look for whipped cream (I wanted to make fancy hot chocolate with sprinkles okay??) but all the shops were shut or didn’t sell it. For most of the day I was angry with myself for not achieving anything but then I thought about it.
Productivity doesn’t have to mean academia. It doesn’t even have to mean chores. I didn’t do my laundry or work on any of my assignments or hoover my room. I didn’t even check my emails or messages. But I did move my desk over so that it’s opposite the window, which I think will be a hugely positive change in my attitude to working there, and I rigged up my noticeboard on the wall with nothing to hand but a ready-made hole, a push-pin, a couple of screws and some string. I went for a nice brisk night-time walk around an incredibly icy Glasgow. I took some time to myself to nurture creativity, and spent an hour writing fanfiction. I had a long and very enjoyable phone call with my partner. And all in all, I think it was a very productive day, even though I didn’t achieve anything I would have normally thought of as productive.
