you know I don’t often think about living in other periods of time but something I wonder how it would be like to be a man who lives in the 23rd century and who’s kind and smart but because of deeply rooted personal issues tries to reject emotions. until I meet this other man who’s intelligent and compassionate and so so gentle and I realize that I will never leave him even though it pains me to feel so deeply about him. in one last attempt at detaching myself from him I run away, but when I find out that he needs help I go back for him. we fight a being that is all brain and no heart, just as I’ve always wanted to be, but I realize that such a being will never know beauty and warmth and love, and that’s what I feel when I’m with him, and finally I understand that my love for him can’t be anything but good. I kiss him and I tell him, and he kisses me back because he understands. we defeat the enemy thanks to this knowledge. I tell my beloved that I will never leave him again.

years later I sacrifice myself to save my friends and he’s so devastated that he destroys his career just to put my soul to rest. but he manages to do more than that: he brings me to a planet that can restore my body and my mind. however, I don’t remember anything of my past. I look at him and I know that he’s my friend, and I know that he’s sacrificed so much for me, but I don’t remember. I don’t know why. why would he do this? so I ask him. he loves me. this man loves me. finally I remember his name, before I remember anything else
