Helping shizuku deal with writer's block
Pairing:shizuku tsukishima x male reader
A/n:I only now realize that it was weird that I didn't write for shizuku when she's on my pinned post but i rewatched whispers of the heart and I gotta say I forgot how good and inspiring it was, especially as someone who actually dreams of becoming a writer.
You parked your bike next to the wall outside of the house and made your way across the garden and to the front door which you knocked on.
Today was a Sunday and you wanted to spend it with your girlfriend, maybe having a date at the library or a café but she hadn't been answering any of your texts so you thought about going directly to her house. You didn't want to pry but checking on her sounded like a good idea
You waited until shizuku's older sister opened the door
"Yep, i'm here to see shizuku, is she alright?"
"Well she should be, but she hasn't come out or her room since breakfast, i tried to check on her but all she said was that she was ok"
She nodded and opened the door further so you could get in
"Yeah, i bet she's been writing all morning, that idiot, I always tell her to take breaks and focus on other stuff"
"Well that is her passion"
"I guess, maybe you can talk to her and see what's wrong"
You took of your shoes and entered the house, politely greeted her parents and went up the staircase to shizuku's room
"Hey shizuku, it's me y/n, can I enter?"
You heard a voice come from the other side of the door
"Of course, you didn't answer any of my messages, I wanted to see if everything was ok"
"D-don't worry it's alright i'm just.....j-just don't worry ok"
"...come on shizuku you know you can tell me everything"
"I told you not to worry! Just go!"
Hearing that she got angry you felt a bit bad but that also increased your resolve to see what was actually going on, you couldn't leave her like this
You waited for a second and heard her sigh
"Alright if you want...go ahead"
You opened the door and got into the room. The first thing you saw was shizuku lying down on the floor looking at the window with her back to you
You came up to her and saw she was pouting and hugging her legs
"Do you want to tell me what's going on?"
She just leaned further away from you and pointed to her desk
When you looked where she was pointing you noticed that under her desk there was a bunch of paper sheets scattered around, you could see there was some writing on them but most of it was either canceled or had been scribbled all over or modified in some other way.
"Oh i think I see what's going on"
"I've been like this all morning! every time I write a sentence I can't think of how to follow it up, or even worse it turns out horrible and I need to rewrite it but i can't think of any other way to write it!"
"So you're having writer's block?"
"Well that's not a big issue, you know it happens to every writer"
At this point shizuku got up and fully faced you with an angry expression that was more directed at herself than anything
"But every writer eventually gets over it!"
"Yes and you will too i'm sure of it"
"But I've tried all morning and i'm still stuck"
"So? You don't have to get over it now you have all the time in the world"
You grabbed her by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes which made her blush
"You already wrote the draft for a book as a teenager do you have any idea how genuinely impressive and amazing that is? You don't have to force yourself to write more if you're not feeling like it, you'll just get burned out otherwise"
"I-i guess you're right...and thank you"
You kissed her cheek and held her hand
"But if you really want to I do have an idea to try to get rid of that writer's block"
You suddenly started dragging her out of the room and the house, you said you were leaving to her parents and then basically forced her to put on her shoes
"Where are we even going?"
Since she had no real choice shizuku followed you while you got on the bike together
A few minutes later shizuku was lying down on the grass with her hands behind her head staring up at the sky
When she saw you approaching with two ice cream cones in hand she raised herself from the ground and grabbed one of them
"Not really, not for now at least nothing's coming to mind"
You sat down and started eating the ice cream with her
"Oh well, I didn't think it would work either"
"Then...why did you bring me here in the first place?"
"I think spending some time away from writing might do well for you, maybe it would even give you the ideas you need paradoxically"
"But for the most part it was just to help you relax, I know you love writing but everyone needs some break time to let their inner gem of a talent shine"
"Eheh I guess that's true, thank you"
She finally started smiling again and so you did the same
"You're welcome just make sure to let me be the first one to read the book once it's finished"
"Of course you know i already promised you that"
And so you kept eating your ice cream while looking at the clouds and holding each other's hands
