KATE MULGREW as Kathryn Janeway (as Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People) STAR TREK: VOYAGER | 5.12 Bride of Chaotica!
Oscar Isaac behind the scenes of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker | Vanity Fair
during the Victorian occultism movement I would have been the guy who giggled all the way through seances
Arthur Conan Doyle subtly, but very firmly kicking you under the table.
man was 6’1” and built like a brick shithouse if he looked at me sideways I’d collapse like an aluminum can
Mans was WHAT
here’s a picture of him standing next to Harry Houdini, who was 5’6”
This is actually really interesting in the context of average height.
In the Victorian era, average height for Englishmen was 5'6" with a range of 5'3" - 5'9". Anyone outside of this range was considered unusually tall or short.
So mans WAS built like a brick shithouse.
Brendan has been the golden retriever friend FOREVER, we love him. Also, absolutely over the moon at the Bedazzled reference. Underrated and to this day, the source of some of my more ridiculous every day quotes.

Everyone should know the international sign for Help Me. Let’s make this famous!!
Interesting; I didn't know this was a thing.
It’s apparently a thing, but it’s a very new thing, so it may need some help being known.

Also that painting is called “Judith and Holofernes.” The biblical story was a common theme for Renaissance paintings.
Here’s Caravaggio’s version:
Artemisia Gentileschi‘s version (shown below) is known for being particularly gruesome. It was painted after she was raped. Quite unusually, she participated in the trial against her rapist (and was tortured during the trial to ensure she told the truth.)
Kehinde Wiley did an entire series about the representation of women in classical Western art, of which this piece was a part. This NY Mag profile from 2012 is really interesting if you want to learn more.
