thoughts from my reread of part 4:
"Use your enemy's assumption against them. Lean on their ignorance to customize their downfall" i'm pretty sure erebus said something similar to bree but i'm too lazy to look back rn
I love edwin so much. Best fictional dad fr
Sel getting the crown at the end and nick having a shard tied to his heart and the crown calling to its broken shards... yeah okay whatever
Emil saying the fact that bree is fighting to save the rootcrafters is all he needs to know that she's doing "a mighty fine job" of making her ancestor's choice count 🥺
After nick tells hazel bree needs sleep and a warm meal and then introduces himself, hazel says "who else could you be but nick davis?" and i guess we're meant to think it's his worry and care for bree that made hazel identify him as nick but it's funny to think that she took one look at this too tall, blond teenager and thought "yep. this must be nick davis" (and it might've been both tbh lol)
The scene with the rootcrafter girls makes me tear up every time 😭
The bree and will reunion <33333
Mr Law and Order, Homeland Security... valec's names for lark are killing me lol
nora telling bree she has a nice crew is so cute. she does, doesn't she?
i crashed out about the rooftop scene in other posts but i love love that moment so much. it was so important for bree
"Like every minute with these people who were looking for me gives me back a bit of myself" 🥺
I love this part where they (bree, nick, mariah, zoe, valec, hazel, lu, will, lark) are all together. The softness of the moments between bree and all these people who love her, them making jokes. And all of this even tho bree doesn't fully remember them
"Loving folks is a practice, baby" "You're Bree Matthews, baby. You can do anything" no one talk to me rn i'm crying
Hazel making all that food just for them to immediately stop eating the moment they find out about sel lmao 😭
ugh i just love love bree's arc in this one. bree's development and realizations are the main reason this book has just gained fave status after this reread over book 1
zoe and elijah are so dear to my heart. can we get a little bit of angst in book 4 too tracy? because there is nothing more i love than some sibling angst
"i have excellent eyesight and when i look around the only king i see here is bree" nick was roasting erebus every chance he got this book lol
i know it's said an "open channel runs both ways" but i need to know more, to understand more about what happened there
when she realizes nick had been yearning for her... priceless moment
i just realized mariah was passed out the entire time bree, nick, sel were conversing 😭
uhm... i think we should have a talk with natasia before drawing such conclusions...
this review making me realize what I loved so much about oathbound was that bree truly has made her life about the love. losing memories of her loved ones and yet we see them all come together from different parts of her life because of her love for them and their love for her. I couldn’t articulate it before this post but wow bree matthews you human personification of love in all its forms I adore you.
