Ummmmm why did no one tell me the epicness that is Tracy Deonn’s Legendborn cycle series?
Just finished book 1 and honestly? Amazing. Loved everything about it. Could not put it down. Started it at 9 am sat morning and finished 3am Sunday. I was supposed to buddy read this with my homegirl. She started it before me cuz she knows I read at the speed of light and I still finished before her 😆.
I loved the themes of loss, the glaring instances of institutional racism, and resilience in the face of grief and adversity. Briana Matthew’s is just a 16 year old and she didn’t feel like it. I’ve read so many fmcs that were so messy in their journeys. Bree had a bit of info to learn but she didn’t make me wanna throw that book across the room when she was a tad reckless. I loved that she was level headed ( thank goodness) for a teenager and I certainly loved her journey through this first part of her story.
Anyway… I had to stop myself from starting up Bloodmarked as soon as I finished book 1. I need sleep! 😴
On to book 2!
