This applies to a bunch of other subgroups of the queer community too. Asexuals are made to feel like freaks for not being sexual enough by the same society that makes everyone else feel like freaks for being too sexual. Lesbians feel pressured to be bi even while bi women feel like they'd be more accepted if they were lesbian. Butches, femmes, and wlw who are neither are all made to feel like they're doing it wrong. PLUS unique facets of shittiness for every shade of non binary PLUS different attitudes towards mlm and wlw PLUS divisions within mlm spaces etc etc etc. And these frictions and differing needs and experiences are absolutely worth discussing, but every time we decide the problem is just that Those Other Queers have it easy we are making the actual problem worse.

There needs to be shorthand for "I agree with the basic good that you are defending, but your obsession with winning arguments online has caused you to warp your whole worldview and deny the complexity of reality just to make sure every aspect of the world supports the basic argument that you are defending and you need to stop."

it's been said a thousand times but "male loneliness epidemic" is just our entire generation's loneliness PANdemic. it's just the crisis of capitalism. almost all young people these days are lonely and depressed because of the crisis and decay of the system we live under and tbh the centering of "male loneliness" in this discussion is embarrassing but also a really understandable consequence of sexism & this current stage of culture war . such absolute bullshit. people distribute fat differently. there is literally no one size fits all method of determining "health". because what is bmi if not just a shield for doctors to hide behind and deny you care? there are no "normal" people. no one is the ideal "average" and once again this is a completely useless tool for the vast majority of the population

even the most dispriviledged people in the imperial core still hugely benefit from living in the imperial core. your access to cheap chocolates, coffee and tropical fruits is maintained on imperialism, your ability to join the army, fuck over foreign countries, and kill people to get out of poverty is a massive benefit exclusive to living in the imperial core. the whole reason border control is such a fucking big deal in the first place is to bar people who live outside of the imperial core from these privileges. you can experience racism, anti-blackness, some of the worst poverty in the imperial core and still be able to trade the life of hundreds of people in west asia for money, or benefit from the fact that other people do. i'm sorry the fact that some yanks have managed to turn their ability to generate wealth from participating in imperialist violence as some kind of grievance against them and not the people they kill (and benefit from killing) is fucking disgusting to me.
