Note where in the same interview he touchstones how it's always about Sam and Dean while he talks about expansion and how interested he is in other characters.

Those two things can co-exist in the same space.

"We've always loved the idea that the Supernatural universe is a fleshed out one with lots of characters and the potential for lots of other stories."

Reading comprehension is a valuable tool.

Not only did Kripke hope to expand the main show with a variety of characters, this philosophy would be an argument for an spn eu. An spn 'verse. An assortment of shows.

Kripke's philosophy

Here's the quote that gets to the core of the matter. Kripke's core philosophy.

While family, found family, and brothers in arms are expressly mentioned, note the language about "personal connection" and "human connections." At no point is there an exclusion of romantic love. Also Kripke very expressly values found family and adoptive bonds. At no point did he ever exclude found family, in fact he's the original author of that theme on the show. It's been part of his vision since the beginning. And that can include romantic love.

15 seasons of canon, people. Anyone denying all kinds of love was depicted, and keeps wanking about "ONLY PLATONIC!!!!!" and against found family overall has absolute lost the plot.
