oh wow
Lmao when pierce brags about how Odin can have what is left of Loki like he has the ability to hurt him. Loki is not bucky. Bucky is a mere mortal where Loki is Loki. The dude who survived a freaking wormhole in space, survived thanos. Pierce can do shit to him. Not to mention he voluntarily let himself be captured by shield. If hydra took him, they’d basically dig their own grave. Pierce is lucky that avengers didn’t listen to him. Bitch just escaped his early death.
Asgardians aren’t immortal and I’m quite sure Hydra would have got creative.
What I found interesting with that little scene was actually Loki’s concerned look while Pierce is claiming the prisoner, precisely; no one is looking at Loki and Loki throws a visibly startled glance at Thor: will he truly grant his new allies custody of an Asgardian prince? And then, once it becomes clear that that won’t happen, Loki allows himself to roll his eyes rather theatrically*.
*if that isn’t another proof of the fact that Loki didn’t really fear Odin and wasn’t accustomed to much chastisement, @katbelleinthedark…

Yesss thank you, Helshades. The ever-cycling notion that poor lil smol bean Loki was tortured in Asgard...? *cue Loki’s eye roll again*
Tom Hiddleston on set for the Avengers
Well... 🤷🏻♀️
I can’t believe someone got paid actual money for this monstrosity.
MARVEL: Shit! We forgot to prepare a logo for the new Loki show! Quick, eh... You! Receptionist! Cobble something together! We need a logo that represents Loki’s elegance, complexity, penchant for mischief...
RECEPTIONIST: I have no idea how to use graphic design software...
MARVEL: We’ll pay you thousands! RECEPTIONIST: *opens a Word file, closes eyes, selects fonts at random*
MARVEL: Perfect!

Tom Hiddleston talking about Loki series at SDCC (2019)
But on the bright side to my previous ramblings... I’m cautiously excited about a series that takes off from Avengers!Loki.
I believe Hiddleston was a much more passionate advocate for Loki before Waititi got his mits on him. He’s always had a genuine enthusiasm for exploring the psychology of Loki, though I think that spark diminished as they increasingly turned him into a comedic sidekick.
Please, Hiddleston. You’re the spark of hope, that will light the fire, that will burn the... Oh, whatever. Just don’t do get help.
The problem with Ragnarok is that it wasn't made for Thor fans, it was made for fans who hated the Thor movies. And I think it's why it's loved by a lot of people because the Thor movies weren't very popular and it's why I hate it so much. I fell in love with the Thor franchise when I watched the first one and I loved the second one as well. I was attached to these characters and their stories, even in the Avengers movies. I was really excited for Ragnarok when watching the trailers and thought it was going to be one of the best movies. But it wasn't. It was one of the worst. I thought it was enjoyable at first (except for some scenes) but after watching it a second time is when it hit me that this movie doesn't feel like a Thor movie. I realized that I laughed in the same way I would laugh at an snl skit. It was funny in a parody way but if you think about it it's not funny at all. They made a mockery of the Thor franchise on purpose because people didn't like it. They killed off important characters like they were nobody. They made jokes out of every event like nothing was serious. Every character was dumb as a doorknob even Bruce banner. Thor is not dumb, Thor is intelligent and eloquent, same with Loki. They were both reduced to idiots played off for laughs, the entirety of Asgardians were reduced to idiots, a realm of people who are supposed to be more advanced and highly intelligent. Bruce's trauma was reduced to a joke and the Hulk was a giant baby, I cringed through every scene he spoke in. The only redeemable parts were Heindall's scenes. If only the movie had maintained that tone it would have been a lot better. But the contrasting tones gave me whiplash. One minute Heimdall is rescuing asgardians from Hela who is killing every soldier and the next minute Thor and hulk are arguing like children. I just don't get it.
Although the director of the movie stated that he doesn't see Thor Ragnarok as part of the mcu so I will hold on to that and aggressively ignore this flaming garbage and I will not watch Thor 4 if it's anything like it's predecessor.
ALL OF THIS.
But most especially:
“The problem with Ragnarok is that it wasn’t made for Thor fans, it was made for fans who hated the Thor movies.”
Marvel fans were elated to learn earlier this week that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi [...]
I have to say, I am absolutely stunned by this news. Never would I have guessed that they would do this. When I first saw a post about it, I thought it was trolling.
There are a lot of ways for this to go wrong, so I’m not exactly excited as of yet. Portman has been praised for many performances (including by the Academy, to be sure), but she’s not known for comedy. (Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised) And I felt the slapstick tone of Thor: Ragnarok undercut the story. (I don’t begrudge the legions of fans who loved it. It’s just that the appeal baffles me.) So it could all come off as a farce and make Foster look ridiculous.
I’m also a little concerned the scientist aspect of her character will fall by the wayside because of everything else they have to cover. That was something that I always treasured. I hope that her knowledge of portals will be useful.
Before Thor 3′s release (which I prefer to refer to as Thor: Weird Dream Sequence) I would have been thrilled to hear that the franchise was continuing into a fourth movie. But no. I feel kinda vomity at the thought of sitting through any more jock!Thor comedic relief, and I doubt Taika Waititi will be any better with Jane’s characterisation.
Sensitivity to building actual authentic characters may be important to Taika for films close to his heart such as Boy, but superhero movies? It seems pretty clear he sees them as little more than fun and gags, with no need for actual substance.
I can see the first promo poster already. It’ll be the What We Do in the Shadows cover with the heads of Thor 4′s cast superimposed over the top.
Forget the Hero's Journey. Women want an Antagonist's Tale
Women are going loco for Loki in the latest Avenger’s film, myself among them. While it would be easy to dismiss this wildfire of obsession as yet another handsome bad-boy, I think the attraction runs deeper than just attention to a pretty face.
I am not drawn to Loki by his looks – no disrespect meant to the fine Tom Hiddleston – but what I find far more compelling than his appearance is his nuanced portrayal of character whose story resonates so strongly with my own.
It has long been thought that the masculine hero’s journey is a miss-match when it comes to a woman’s experience of life. However, it was not until I saw the Avengers that it occurred to me – perhaps the female journey to identity does not lie in the tales of our culture’s heroes, but of their villains.
Beyond the cut, I delve into two Antagonist tales from recent films – Loki, from Marvel’s Thor and Avengers, and the Megamind from the eponymous film by Dreamworks – comparing them to my own personal experiences. While I acknowledge that my perspective may not be shared by everyone, I hope that others can join me in exploring this idea with their own experiences and parallels.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains some mild spoilers (mostly quotes) on Marvel’s Thor & Avengers, major spoilers on Dreamwork’s Megamind, and details from Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew”.

I like the idea that the person you thought was the villain is really the victim, and that the story is really about the villain trying to regain his humanity.
- George Lucas
Petition to shove these words down the throats of all butthurt anti-redeeming Kylo haters and watch them choke.
Here’s a secret I keep close to my heart: I kinda have a sweet spot for redemption arcs.

I tried to tell a workmate about Loki shapeshifting into a sparky rainbow unicorn. She point blank refused to believe me.

Oh Sif. Beautiful, strong, faithful Sif. I loved you well when we were young. But like everyone else, you never had eyes for me when Thor was around…
