SIFKI WEEK 2026 - August 2nd-8th

Hello fellow Sifki shippers! It’s time to celebrate our favorite space vikings - Sifki Week 2026 is here!

How does it work? Each day of the week will come with two general prompts to give you inspiration for your work. You can follow the prompt(s) as loosely or closely, as literal or abstract as you want; prompts are mainly there to give you a starting point to create from. Or you can completely ignore the prompts if you don’t feel particularly inspired but have your own great idea. You can also submit for as many or as few days as you’d like, and creations can be any length or size. We want to see as much new fan work in the fandom as possible, so don’t feel limited. The schedule for this year’s celebration is as follows:

Loki took a deep swig from his mug, bottoming out. Replacing the mug on the table top, he grabbed for the pitcher and started gulping, barely pausing to draw breath. He didn’t stop until the pitcher was empty, giving him a robust bubble mustache, the most facial hair Loki had ever sported. 

“She’s too smart to waste on a useless Vanir,” Loki said, thoroughly inebriated. Fandral ought to take the man to the tavern more often; that much mead should barely make a dent in his sobriety. “She shines like the sun, you know.” Loki started opening and closing his fists. “Like sun.”

Fandral croaked. 

“I know you toad me so,” Loki said miserably, dropping his head to the table. One arm stuck straight up, waving uselessly about the room. “I didn’t listen. And now she finds a stranger ribbiting.”

Hello, my name is Mira! I write and paint and have an enormous fascination with words and art and history. For the most part, I am just here to reblog things that catch my fancy or make me smile. This blog is something of a dragon's horde - or magpie's nest, in all honesty - as such, with very little rhyme or reason to tie it all together.

A Kingdom Where My Love Can Stand | Daisy Goodwin's Victoria | This is my current epic WIP series - and I do mean epic; I am 350k words in, with another ~500k left to go - and the very great love of my writing career. In this project, I retell the story of Queen Victoria's early reign and her relationship with her first prime minister, Lord Melbourne. At present, everything is canon compliant, but the plot will eventually go AU for a different version of history altogether, once Prince Albert comes to court . . .

And Graven With Diamonds in Letters Plain | The Tudors/Alison Weir's The Passionate Tudor | This is another epic in the making, exploring the early life of Mary Tudor, from the years 1533 to 1542, with a focus on her relationship with Eustace Chapuys. This started off with a few fandom-typical historical inaccuracies, but it's since turned into a passion project for me to research. The story has now taken on a life of its own as I attempt to give this truly remarkable young woman a voice after she's been so unfairly maligned by history . . .

With Your Hand Pinned to My Chest | X-Men: '97/X-Men: Age of Apocalypse | This WIP is a remix of Episodes 2 and 3 of Season 1, where the world of Age of Apocalypse bleeds through to the canon reality in the form of dreams. Rogue/Magneto was one of my very first OTPs, and this is somewhat of a self-indulgent love letter to that ship as a result. While this story is intended to be complete in and of itself, it has the potential to turn into another series - which may just need to happen, given how Season 2 is going at present . . .

The Best is Yet to Be | Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility | This is a collection of standalone short stories and one-shots that I still add to intermittently, exploring the canon narrative we already know and love from Austen herself! Though I am particularly proud of how I handled Colonel Brandon and Mr. Willoughby's duel in By Their Very Nature; the denouement of In Benefice; my stylistic experiment 'Ode to a Brook' and Other Selections; and my 5+1 fic We Few, We Happy Few - especially for the bonus Persuasion crossover in the last chapter, following the Battle of Waterloo . . .

This Taste of Shadow | Tolkien's Silmarillion & Histories of Middle-Earth | This series boasts nearly *600k words* of interconnected ficlets and short stories, where I delve into the rich and vast world beyond The Lord of the Rings. It's safe to say that writing this series forged me into the author I am today, and it remains the ever-favorite object of my heart, even as the years pass. As a selection, it is my delight to suggest:

Breath Held; Eyes Closed - A young Celebrían's encounter with Annatar in Ost-in-Edhil.

I Have Been Hungry All These Years - Celebrimbor, uncorrupted in heart and faith.

Just So Long, and Long Enough - Celebrían and Elrond begin the tradition of fostering the Chieftains of the Dúnedain with Arahael Aranarth's son.

Growing Hope Next to Bones - Elladan and Elrohir's Hobbit-adjacent adventure with a very young Aragorn.

Come Home With a Smooth, Round Stone - Maedhros, reuniting with Elrond in the Fourth Age.

I have also written quite a few Star Wars stories where Anakin Skywalker did not turn to the dark side in my A New Song AU; an entire series introducing Martha Washington into the narrative of Hamilton, plus a story where an elderly Eliza Hamilton meets Abraham Lincoln that I am still incredibly proud of; an ever growing series of The Phantom of the Opera one-shots; and many, many words for the MCU, back before the fandom crashed and burned, with my favorite being the Sif/Loki novel All Our Winters to Pass - though that is going rather far back in my repertoire. ;)

Besides writing, I am also a portrait artist! For a long time, I worked primarily in colored pencil - you can check out my old work here on DeviantArt - but I've since taken up oil painting. It's been a couple of years since I last made the time for art, but I've recently picked up my pencil again, and I look forward to sharing my work with you lovely folks soon!
