Vaggi Week Day 1: Future

As Chuck did a 'Shave And A Haircut... " knock, someonly walking in the snow, far away on the ground picks their head to look up at the winglessly floalting hellborn. The stranger replies with a '...Two Bits' in the form of two like-timed middle fingers, and goes back to walking the direction they were going. As Chuck snickers a little, he waits for someone else to potentially respond like they might care who in their glass bulb comes and goes.

Tempest was within her domain anyway. The doors closed when usually open, the weather inside a blizzard like appearance. The only reason the doors were closed were for the faux weather, and stars forbid there be snow across hell.

Though when the gated door was knocked upon, it sent messages throughout the staff. Eventually reaching the overlord herself.

prying the gated door open, she tilted her head to assess whoever knocked. Eyes widening slightly as almost the exact replica of Charlie stood there.. but not Charlie.. a man..

Tempest’s ears swiveled forward.

“my apologies with the gate,” she gestured to the blazing snow behind her, “is there something I may assist you with?…”

the storm was already dying down.

"Hi. Yes. Um..." Chuck wasn't sure of the best way to introduce himself. "The name's Chuck."

The hand that was awkwardly rubbing the back of Chuck's neck was now extended to offer the mildly bewildered seeming overlord a handshake, his head gradually receeding into his neck as he talks "Charlie Morningstar and I are th- uh... we're uh; we know each other. You..." he uses his other hand to point at her, giving her a quick glance over before saying, "... yeah, you match the description Charlie gave me. Soooo, you must be... Templar?"

“hmmm.. interesting..”

At the mention of her name.. or well faux name. She frowned, ears pinning back. Fur fluffing up slightly as she retreated her hand back to cross her arms. She found his behavior strange, it did remind her of Charlie’s father. Though what really was shocking was the appearances.. Charlie never mentioned having a twin.

He isn't too familiar with Tempest as a person to begin with. Even in his universe, their minimal interactions with each other in passing were exactly that. In those moments and this one, she always seemed to be studiously aloof. "I told her I could use a place to clear my head. Anywhere in the pride ring that didn't kinda look like everywhere else, and that's when she, or..."

Chuck quickly shook his head as he corrected himself, "That's when I realized..." Though the thought had crossed his mind, more than once, to visit this very low temperature territory just to visit it one day. "I still don't know what a cold day in hell actually feels like."

He could feel a ramble coming on, and couldn't stop it. "I wish Charlie didn't phrase it so mean when she said this place would be a good fit, given that I'm , quote unquote, 'the walking embodiment of a cold day in hell'." He said as he crossed his arms.

“then do welcome yourself in Chuck… cabins are available currently…” Tempest’s ears flicked. She eyed his face for a moment, how he held himself. A small assessment of this individual. Similar to Charlie in the ramblings. How quaint.

"The outside looks so much darker from inside this place. So much of it is covered in white..." Chucks voice trails off as he remains suspended for a long moment, taking in his surroundings, until eventually feeling the bite of the cold; looking down incidentally to find out that his hands are shaking, the pain of the cold air passing through him in his flight state starting to really make itself known.

When he shivered she chuckled dryly, “it is much warmer inside. We also have clothes and blankets you are free to use….. within purchase of staying of course..”

Her ears turned down, she raised a brow after a second. She had to process what he was saying about the dome.

As a hellborn, outside of videos or photo's of earth at night, Chuck had only seen it's night sky a handful of rare times. The idea excited him so much, he'd almost forgotten how cold he was.

"That's so cool." Chuck said with a wonder he was surprised to hear in his own voice, in light of the events that recently got him stranded in Charlie's hell.

Tempest clasped her claws behind her back. Tilting her head up just slightly with a raised ear to listen to him. “let’s get you settled before such conversations yes? It truly would be a shame if you were frozen on my front door.”

He had stopped to take in his surroundings after making it a few steps into the warmly lit cabin. The large fireplace nearby an even larger receptionist desk, had design flourishes carved into nearly every edge and corner. Some of the swirls reminded him of the kind that were lightly interspersed throughout the hotel. But, where as those were contrasting pieces that seemed added to the architechture later, these swirls and eveerything else were carved into the same wood and stone that their sections were built out of.

What eventually ended up making Chuck let out a barely audible 'wow' was the fireplace dimly adding a gliimmer to the rest of the cabin, getting him to notice how even things, like the small lounges chairs and tables, also had designes carved into the wood of them.

“this place was built with desires of life in mind.” A rather vague statement, but the soft tone of warmth was inescapable. Pairing with the wood and stone, blue and white banners and decor had almost a marble like look to them. Unique and abstract, light vs the dark wood.

Before the nearly eye level sinner could finish typing, Chuck suddenly realized that the two of them had never been acquanted before, and held out a hand before saying, "The name's Chuck, by the way."

“I’m assured you already know my name as Tempest, but good to be squinted.. Chuck” she tasted the name from her lips, cocking her head slightly to the side.

“as for prices,” Gailen chimed in, a rather nervous voice for such a lanky creature, “usually it ranges from hundreds to the thousands.. but all depends on where and how long you stay.. we have deals for new comers though?…”

Luckily, earlier in the day- although it felt strange to be proverbially borrowing money from himself, despite Charlie insisting that Chuck not worry about paying him back- he'd ended up with a few thousand souls, so he could rent a cabin, and still have money to play with.

Regardless, Chuck bounced a couple times on the tips of his toes as he said, "ooh deals... deals are fun..." he stopped for a moment to think critically about saying that deals, in hell, are fun. It also helped that Tempest and Gallen were both shooting him an amused look that said 'fun, huh?', making Chuck feel obliged to correct himself.

Tempest chuckled dryly, he was either really new to hell. Or hellborn. Either way, she shook her head with a small smile.

“deals.. as in price deals. We don’t dabble in that around here.. unless?”

Chuck smiled at the interaction between Gailen and Tempest as he said, "Oh, like a discount... Now I get it."

As he watched the two behind the desk subtly roll there eyes to each other, in response to what Chuck just said, he adds, "I should probably be fine, either way. As long as there's a really nice view of the night sky from inside."

“there is a small cabin available exactly for stargazing… about 150 a night. Normally 200 but thanks to this being your first stay there is a discount. As well as it is one room.”

Tempest gestured to the card, “I can walk you there…”

"Okay then. Awesome." Chuck excitedly replied, as he timidly grabbed the card.

"I didn't think I'd be looking so forward to this. It still feels weird that I'm even in this world to begin with." Chuck looked at his feet as he shyly explained himself.

"I guess being in a timeless void, before ending up in a version of hell again somehow, has made me appreciate the little things, you know?" As he looked up to see the understandably confused looks on both Gailen and Tempest's face, he began to feel like he'd said a little too much just now, or at least that there was perhaps a better time to talk about that.

She swiveled her head to him, an eyebrow raised in judgement.

“explain… this version of hell? A void?..” her voice critical, and analytical.

she was watching him rather closely. Frost crackling from her fur as her ears bent back in a somewhat neutral gesture. Or at least one that tried to pretend to be neutral.

As Chuck made a small detour to grab and put on a black winter jacket that appeared to be his size, he says, "The Hell I'm from was a few years ahead in the future from this one." putting his arms inside the somewhat puffy jacket, and zipping it up as he catches up to Tempest.

"Everything there was going so well, that I guess god felt the scales were tipped way too well in mine and Vaggi's favor." Chuck was given a look he sort of expected after bringing up the fallen angel, as they went out into the now tolerable cold.

"The night of the wedding, we decided we'd start... trying to make a family." The analyical glare Tempest gave Chuck as he spoke only became more intense. Regardless he continued with, "Later in the middle of that night, there was this flash of light, and Vaggi..." his steps slowed down as he struggled to get the words out, trying and failing to keep his eyes dry. "She..."

The cabin in front of them was clearly small, but its slanted roof opened up to a round bubble like structure. Barely visible cushions and pillows inside for star gazing while remaining inside.

The overlord opened the door, allowing him side. A small kitchen to the left, a living room opened out from the front door’s hall. A ladder above gave way to a bed and the bubble structure that could have been seen outside.

“If you are from the future.. or at least your world’s future. Then the exorcists exterminations would’ve ceased by then no? How did she….?”

Finally he said, while looking toward the ground at nothing specific, "It didn't even leave a hole in anything else but her. ... That's what made it so easy for me to just get angrier and angrier at god. The more I searched my mind for an answer as to why they would... just... smite her like that- after all the good we'd accomplished, after all the lives we'd changed- the more I became confused... infuriated."

As Chuck continued, his hands balled into fists, as the memory of what happened swept through him. Though he tried not to think too hard about how that night felt, he said, "The more I grieved, trying to rationalize what Vaggi or I truly did to earn gods cruelty like that, the more I thought the whole world was better off gone. The further my rage spread, internally and externally, the more my power became something other than just demonic. It became this ... darkness.

Chuck looked up at Tempest to say, "It was so much more than just destruction, after a certain point. I was summoning an energy that... I've been told since I've been here... is something only a few beings in the entire universe, that aren't elder gods, can use safely."

As he looked away from the Elk sinner, he took a seat in the living room and softly said, "I don't know how, but that... elder realms physical darkness became a part of me- or rather, I became an embodiment of it- but only after I became able to use it, in my confusion and rage, to will my entire reality away. Everything, every dimensional aspect of my universse was gone, but me, by the end. ... Even death itself... even time."

Chuck looked back up at his overlord host, and shrugged, "And that's what got me here." He let's his hands land in his lap and said, "Since erasing myself was, in my mind, a form of death- after spending a timeless eternity having a staring contest with the void, trying to erase myself repeatedly, and infinitely- I finally blinked, so to speak, and the next thing I know, I woke up in the pride ring."

Chuck once again looked off to the side and said, almost under his breath, "... right where I first met her."

After a few seconds of awkward silence Chuck snickered and added, "Imagine my surprise, even after all that, finding out this universe already has a 'Charlie Morningstar', and that everything else is exactly the same."

she was wary, possibly unsettled by what he said. It was a big deal, being in a no man’s land for who knows how long. Destroying himself over and over? A familiar story but estranged due to his unbelievable power. It made her question many things, though all of this was expressed in a drawn out sigh.

“I.. give my sincerest apologies for what happened. It did not deserve to happen.. Chuck,” she sat across from him as she crossed her legs, “I believe you. But if you got yourself here.. why haven’t you left.. and more importantly.. do you plan to do the same to this world as your own?”

She reached out a hand to him but then stopped herself, that was too domestic.. too reassuring. The icy exterior crumpling slightly…

"... And no. I have no intention of doing to this world, what I did to mine. What I did was... deserving of ending up in the pride ring as a sinner, for sure. Not to say that's why I can't leave. I'm just so emotionally tethered to this place, y'know? Still believing in redemption... still being able to see people that I love, even if it's best to limit my interactions, and especially my interventions... that's what keeps me here. Charlie even gave me a key to one of the luxury suites at the hotel, which, how could I refuse?"

A bewildered yet accepting look quickly took over the melancholy expression on Chuck's face. "I could leave whenever I want actually. I could visit the other rings... I could visit Earth, in a human disguise of course... I could even visit Heaven if I wanted. I already let myself in once. Oh man, the look on that exorcists face..."

Chuck stands up, almost as if suddenly getting the zoomies, "Like imagine you're an angel that's trained in combat; you see me, who just phased right through the pearly gates, you lunge a dagger at me, and I go..." he quickly drops down through the floor, like a ghost in a hurry.

A second later he silently popped back up, a few feet behind Tempest, and said, "...missed me."

“I’m sure it was amusing… but Chuck.. I’ll offer you something….” She gestured to the seat again for him to take it.

"I'll think about it... Just because it'd be nice to have the distraction." He crossed his arms and legs, only briefly pondering what it is he would even be asked to do as work, until something came to mind.

"Although... it isn't just the hotel that reminds me of my past... It's the whole ring." The frown on Chuck's face didn't last long.

“yes.. the dome is suppose to be stylized to look like earth, specifically what I can remember from my home region.”

Her voice trailed off slightly as if remembering everything. She sighed and then smiled softly.

Then looking up past the glass ceiling of the cabin, he floats up to the bed area to patiently wait for stars to appear one by one.

As he sits down next to the ladder to still see the elk sinner, he says, "Thank you. Not just for the cabin but... Everyone has been so accepting of my being here, including you, one way or the other. You even offered me a job."

Bringing one leg up from dangling off the edge of the platform, to look at the sky, he says, "Considering what I am, considering how dangerous it is for... basically an elder god to be residing in this world, you could all just tell me to get as far away from the rings as possible."

“as far as I’m concerned you are Charlie, albeit a different version of the heir. That title is welcome within this dome as long as I am still standing.”

The overlord stood, puffing up her fur slightly as she gave a short nod to Chuck.

“I hope you’ll consider it… but.. enjoy your stay. Gailen can always contact me for you… if you need me.”

Chuck watches Tempest take her leave, so lost in wondering if there was anything else he wanted to ask them, that he almost forgets to say, "Goodbye for now."

As the elk overlord opens the door, she takes one last look at Chuck, briefly nodding and closing her eyes, in both response and agreement.

After he finishes looking at Tempest, who leaves the cabin as she closes the door behind her, he lays flat on the mattress placed on the platform below the cabin's glass roof.

He couldn't remember the last time he had been able to remain still somewhere, and smile at the beauty of something, let-alone something in hell's atmosphere.

Grateful, he let each appearance of a new star distract him from his thoughts. In the couple that passed before he finally ended up falling asleep, he'd only uttered one word toward the sky.

As he sits down next to the ladder to still see the elk sinner, he says, "Thank you. Not just for the cabin but... Everyone has been so accepting of my being here, including you, one way or the other. You even offered me a job."

Bringing one leg up from dangling off the edge of the platform, to look at the sky, he says, "Considering what I am, considering how dangerous it is for... basically an elder god to be residing in this world, you could all just tell me to get as far away from the rings as possible."

As Chuck did a 'Shave And A Haircut... " knock, someonly walking in the snow, far away on the ground picks their head to look up at the winglessly floalting hellborn. The stranger replies with a '...Two Bits' in the form of two like-timed middle fingers, and goes back to walking the direction they were going. As Chuck snickers a little, he waits for someone else to potentially respond like they might care who in their glass bulb comes and goes.

Tempest was within her domain anyway. The doors closed when usually open, the weather inside a blizzard like appearance. The only reason the doors were closed were for the faux weather, and stars forbid there be snow across hell.

Though when the gated door was knocked upon, it sent messages throughout the staff. Eventually reaching the overlord herself.

prying the gated door open, she tilted her head to assess whoever knocked. Eyes widening slightly as almost the exact replica of Charlie stood there.. but not Charlie.. a man..

Tempest’s ears swiveled forward.

“my apologies with the gate,” she gestured to the blazing snow behind her, “is there something I may assist you with?…”

the storm was already dying down.

"Hi. Yes. Um..." Chuck wasn't sure of the best way to introduce himself. "The name's Chuck."

The hand that was awkwardly rubbing the back of Chuck's neck was now extended to offer the mildly bewildered seeming overlord a handshake, his head gradually receeding into his neck as he talks "Charlie Morningstar and I are th- uh... we're uh; we know each other. You..." he uses his other hand to point at her, giving her a quick glance over before saying, "... yeah, you match the description Charlie gave me. Soooo, you must be... Templar?"

“hmmm.. interesting..”

At the mention of her name.. or well faux name. She frowned, ears pinning back. Fur fluffing up slightly as she retreated her hand back to cross her arms. She found his behavior strange, it did remind her of Charlie’s father. Though what really was shocking was the appearances.. Charlie never mentioned having a twin.

He isn't too familiar with Tempest as a person to begin with. Even in his universe, their minimal interactions with each other in passing were exactly that. In those moments and this one, she always seemed to be studiously aloof. "I told her I could use a place to clear my head. Anywhere in the pride ring that didn't kinda look like everywhere else, and that's when she, or..."

Chuck quickly shook his head as he corrected himself, "That's when I realized..." Though the thought had crossed his mind, more than once, to visit this very low temperature territory just to visit it one day. "I still don't know what a cold day in hell actually feels like."

He could feel a ramble coming on, and couldn't stop it. "I wish Charlie didn't phrase it so mean when she said this place would be a good fit, given that I'm , quote unquote, 'the walking embodiment of a cold day in hell'." He said as he crossed his arms.

“then do welcome yourself in Chuck… cabins are available currently…” Tempest’s ears flicked. She eyed his face for a moment, how he held himself. A small assessment of this individual. Similar to Charlie in the ramblings. How quaint.

"The outside looks so much darker from inside this place. So much of it is covered in white..." Chucks voice trails off as he remains suspended for a long moment, taking in his surroundings, until eventually feeling the bite of the cold; looking down incidentally to find out that his hands are shaking, the pain of the cold air passing through him in his flight state starting to really make itself known.

When he shivered she chuckled dryly, “it is much warmer inside. We also have clothes and blankets you are free to use….. within purchase of staying of course..”

Her ears turned down, she raised a brow after a second. She had to process what he was saying about the dome.

As a hellborn, outside of videos or photo's of earth at night, Chuck had only seen it's night sky a handful of rare times. The idea excited him so much, he'd almost forgotten how cold he was.

"That's so cool." Chuck said with a wonder he was surprised to hear in his own voice, in light of the events that recently got him stranded in Charlie's hell.

Tempest clasped her claws behind her back. Tilting her head up just slightly with a raised ear to listen to him. “let’s get you settled before such conversations yes? It truly would be a shame if you were frozen on my front door.”

He had stopped to take in his surroundings after making it a few steps into the warmly lit cabin. The large fireplace nearby an even larger receptionist desk, had design flourishes carved into nearly every edge and corner. Some of the swirls reminded him of the kind that were lightly interspersed throughout the hotel. But, where as those were contrasting pieces that seemed added to the architechture later, these swirls and eveerything else were carved into the same wood and stone that their sections were built out of.

What eventually ended up making Chuck let out a barely audible 'wow' was the fireplace dimly adding a gliimmer to the rest of the cabin, getting him to notice how even things, like the small lounges chairs and tables, also had designes carved into the wood of them.

“this place was built with desires of life in mind.” A rather vague statement, but the soft tone of warmth was inescapable. Pairing with the wood and stone, blue and white banners and decor had almost a marble like look to them. Unique and abstract, light vs the dark wood.

Before the nearly eye level sinner could finish typing, Chuck suddenly realized that the two of them had never been acquanted before, and held out a hand before saying, "The name's Chuck, by the way."

“I’m assured you already know my name as Tempest, but good to be squinted.. Chuck” she tasted the name from her lips, cocking her head slightly to the side.

“as for prices,” Gailen chimed in, a rather nervous voice for such a lanky creature, “usually it ranges from hundreds to the thousands.. but all depends on where and how long you stay.. we have deals for new comers though?…”

Luckily, earlier in the day- although it felt strange to be proverbially borrowing money from himself, despite Charlie insisting that Chuck not worry about paying him back- he'd ended up with a few thousand souls, so he could rent a cabin, and still have money to play with.

Regardless, Chuck bounced a couple times on the tips of his toes as he said, "ooh deals... deals are fun..." he stopped for a moment to think critically about saying that deals, in hell, are fun. It also helped that Tempest and Gallen were both shooting him an amused look that said 'fun, huh?', making Chuck feel obliged to correct himself.

As he watched the two behind the desk subtly roll there eyes to each other, in response to what Chuck just said, he adds, "I should probably be fine, either way. As long as there's a really nice view of the night sky from inside."

“there is a small cabin available exactly for stargazing… about 150 a night. Normally 200 but thanks to this being your first stay there is a discount. As well as it is one room.”

Tempest gestured to the card, “I can walk you there…”

"Okay then. Awesome." Chuck excitedly replied, as he timidly grabbed the card.

"I didn't think I'd be looking so forward to this. It still feels weird that I'm even in this world to begin with." Chuck looked at his feet as he shyly explained himself.

"I guess being in a timeless void, before ending up in a version of hell again somehow, has made me appreciate the little things, you know?" As he looked up to see the understandably confused looks on both Gailen and Tempest's face, he began to feel like he'd said a little too much just now, or at least that there was perhaps a better time to talk about that.

She swiveled her head to him, an eyebrow raised in judgement.

“explain… this version of hell? A void?..” her voice critical, and analytical.

As Chuck made a small detour to grab and put on a black winter jacket that appeared to be his size, he says, "The Hell I'm from was a few years ahead in the future from this one." putting his arms inside the somewhat puffy jacket, and zipping it up as he catches up to Tempest.

"Everything there was going so well, that I guess god felt the scales were tipped way too well in mine and Vaggi's favor." Chuck was given a look he sort of expected after bringing up the fallen angel, as they went out into the now tolerable cold.

"The night of the wedding, we decided we'd start... trying to make a family." The analyical glare Tempest gave Chuck as he spoke only became more intense. Regardless he continued with, "Later in the middle of that night, there was this flash of light, and Vaggi..." his steps slowed down as he struggled to get the words out, trying and failing to keep his eyes dry. "She..."

The cabin in front of them was clearly small, but its slanted roof opened up to a round bubble like structure. Barely visible cushions and pillows inside for star gazing while remaining inside.

The overlord opened the door, allowing him side. A small kitchen to the left, a living room opened out from the front door’s hall. A ladder above gave way to a bed and the bubble structure that could have been seen outside.

“If you are from the future.. or at least your world’s future. Then the exorcists exterminations would’ve ceased by then no? How did she….?”

Finally he said, while looking toward the ground at nothing specific, "It didn't even leave a hole in anything else but her. ... That's what made it so easy for me to just get angrier and angrier at god. The more I searched my mind for an answer as to why they would... just... smite her like that- after all the good we'd accomplished, after all the lives we'd changed- the more I became confused... infuriated."

As Chuck continued, his hands balled into fists, as the memory of what happened swept through him. Though he tried not to think too hard about how that night felt, he said, "The more I grieved, trying to rationalize what Vaggi or I truly did to earn gods cruelty like that, the more I thought the whole world was better off gone. The further my rage spread, internally and externally, the more my power became something other than just demonic. It became this ... darkness.

Chuck looked up at Tempest to say, "It was so much more than just destruction, after a certain point. I was summoning an energy that... I've been told since I've been here... is something only a few beings in the entire universe, that aren't elder gods, can use safely."

As he looked away from the Elk sinner, he took a seat in the living room and softly said, "I don't know how, but that... elder realms physical darkness became a part of me- or rather, I became an embodiment of it- but only after I became able to use it, in my confusion and rage, to will my entire reality away. Everything, every dimensional aspect of my universse was gone, but me, by the end. ... Even death itself... even time."

Chuck looked back up at his overlord host, and shrugged, "And that's what got me here." He let's his hands land in his lap and said, "Since erasing myself was, in my mind, a form of death- after spending a timeless eternity having a staring contest with the void, trying to erase myself repeatedly, and infinitely- I finally blinked, so to speak, and the next thing I know, I woke up in the pride ring."

Chuck once again looked off to the side and said, almost under his breath, "... right where I first met her."

After a few seconds of awkward silence Chuck snickered and added, "Imagine my surprise, even after all that, finding out this universe already has a 'Charlie Morningstar', and that everything else is exactly the same."

A familiar story but estranged due to his unbelievable power. It made her question many things, though all of this was expressed in a drawn out sigh.

“I.. give my sincerest apologies for what happened. It did not deserve to happen.. Chuck,” she sat across from him as she crossed her legs, “I believe you. But if you got yourself here.. why haven’t you left.. and more importantly.. do you plan to do the same to this world as your own?”

She reached out a hand to him but then stopped herself, that was too domestic.. too reassuring. The icy exterior crumpling slightly…

"... And no. I have no intention of doing to this world, what I did to mine. What I did was... deserving of ending up in the pride ring as a sinner, for sure. Not to say that's why I can't leave. I'm just so emotionally tethered to this place, y'know? Still believing in redemption... still being able to see people that I love, even if it's best to limit my interactions, and especially my interventions... that's what keeps me here. Charlie even gave me a key to one of the luxury suites at the hotel, which, how could I refuse?"

A bewildered yet accepting look quickly took over the melancholy expression on Chuck's face. "I could leave whenever I want actually. I could visit the other rings... I could visit Earth, in a human disguise of course... I could even visit Heaven if I wanted. I already let myself in once. Oh man, the look on that exorcists face..."

Chuck stands up, almost as if suddenly getting the zoomies, "Like imagine you're an angel that's trained in combat; you see me, who just phased right through the pearly gates, you lunge a dagger at me, and I go..." he quickly drops down through the floor, like a ghost in a hurry.

A second later he silently popped back up, a few feet behind Tempest, and said, "...missed me."

“this place was built with desires of life in mind.” A rather vague statement, but the soft tone of warmth was inescapable. Pairing with the wood and stone, blue and white banners and decor had almost a marble like look to them. Unique and abstract, light vs the dark wood.

Everything, every dimensional aspect of my universse was gone, but me, by the end. ... Even death itself... even time."

Tempest gestured to the card, “I can walk you there…”

"Okay then. Awesome." Chuck excitedly replied, as he timidly grabbed the card.

"I didn't think I'd be looking so forward to this. It still feels weird that I'm even in this world to begin with." Chuck looked at his feet as he shyly explained himself.

"I guess being in a timeless void, before ending up in a version of hell again somehow, has made me appreciate the little things, you know?" As he looked up to see the understandably confused looks on both Gailen and Tempest's face, he began to feel like he'd said a little too much just now, or at least that there was perhaps a better time to talk about that.

She swiveled her head to him, an eyebrow raised in judgement.

“explain… this version of hell? A void?..” her voice critical, and analytical.

she was watching him rather closely. Frost crackling from her fur as her ears bent back in a somewhat neutral gesture. Or at least one that tried to pretend to be neutral.

As Chuck made a small detour to grab and put on a black winter jacket that appeared to be his size, he says, "The Hell I'm from was a few years ahead in the future from this one." putting his arms inside the somewhat puffy jacket, and zipping it up as he catches up to Tempest.

"Everything there was going so well, that I guess god felt the scales were tipped way too well in mine and Vaggi's favor." Chuck was given a look he sort of expected after bringing up the fallen angel, as they went out into the now tolerable cold.

"The night of the wedding, we decided we'd start... trying to make a family." The analyical glare Tempest gave Chuck as he spoke only became more intense. Regardless he continued with, "Later in the middle of that night, there was this flash of light, and Vaggi..." his steps slowed down as he struggled to get the words out, trying and failing to keep his eyes dry. "She..."

As Chuck did a 'Shave And A Haircut... " knock, someonly walking in the snow, far away on the ground picks their head to look up at the winglessly floalting hellborn. The stranger replies with a '...Two Bits' in the form of two like-timed middle fingers, and goes back to walking the direction they were going. As Chuck snickers a little, he waits for someone else to potentially respond like they might care who in their glass bulb comes and goes.

Tempest was within her domain anyway. The doors closed when usually open, the weather inside a blizzard like appearance. The only reason the doors were closed were for the faux weather, and stars forbid there be snow across hell.

Though when the gated door was knocked upon, it sent messages throughout the staff. Eventually reaching the overlord herself.

prying the gated door open, she tilted her head to assess whoever knocked. Eyes widening slightly as almost the exact replica of Charlie stood there.. but not Charlie.. a man..

Tempest’s ears swiveled forward.

“my apologies with the gate,” she gestured to the blazing snow behind her, “is there something I may assist you with?…”

the storm was already dying down.

"Hi. Yes. Um..." Chuck wasn't sure of the best way to introduce himself. "The name's Chuck."

The hand that was awkwardly rubbing the back of Chuck's neck was now extended to offer the mildly bewildered seeming overlord a handshake, his head gradually receeding into his neck as he talks "Charlie Morningstar and I are th- uh... we're uh; we know each other. You..." he uses his other hand to point at her, giving her a quick glance over before saying, "... yeah, you match the description Charlie gave me. Soooo, you must be... Templar?"

“hmmm.. interesting..”

At the mention of her name.. or well faux name. She frowned, ears pinning back. Fur fluffing up slightly as she retreated her hand back to cross her arms. She found his behavior strange, it did remind her of Charlie’s father. Though what really was shocking was the appearances.. Charlie never mentioned having a twin.

He isn't too familiar with Tempest as a person to begin with. Even in his universe, their minimal interactions with each other in passing were exactly that. In those moments and this one, she always seemed to be studiously aloof. "I told her I could use a place to clear my head. Anywhere in the pride ring that didn't kinda look like everywhere else, and that's when she, or..."

Chuck quickly shook his head as he corrected himself, "That's when I realized..." Though the thought had crossed his mind, more than once, to visit this very low temperature territory just to visit it one day. "I still don't know what a cold day in hell actually feels like."

He could feel a ramble coming on, and couldn't stop it. "I wish Charlie didn't phrase it so mean when she said this place would be a good fit, given that I'm , quote unquote, 'the walking embodiment of a cold day in hell'." He said as he crossed his arms.

“then do welcome yourself in Chuck… cabins are available currently…” Tempest’s ears flicked. She eyed his face for a moment, how he held himself. A small assessment of this individual. Similar to Charlie in the ramblings. How quaint.

"The outside looks so much darker from inside this place. So much of it is covered in white..." Chucks voice trails off as he remains suspended for a long moment, taking in his surroundings, until eventually feeling the bite of the cold; looking down incidentally to find out that his hands are shaking, the pain of the cold air passing through him in his flight state starting to really make itself known.

When he shivered she chuckled dryly, “it is much warmer inside. We also have clothes and blankets you are free to use….. within purchase of staying of course..”

Her ears turned down, she raised a brow after a second. She had to process what he was saying about the dome.

As a hellborn, outside of videos or photo's of earth at night, Chuck had only seen it's night sky a handful of rare times. The idea excited him so much, he'd almost forgotten how cold he was.

"That's so cool." Chuck said with a wonder he was surprised to hear in his own voice, in light of the events that recently got him stranded in Charlie's hell.

Tempest clasped her claws behind her back. Tilting her head up just slightly with a raised ear to listen to him. “let’s get you settled before such conversations yes? It truly would be a shame if you were frozen on my front door.”

He had stopped to take in his surroundings after making it a few steps into the warmly lit cabin. The large fireplace nearby an even larger receptionist desk, had design flourishes carved into nearly every edge and corner. Some of the swirls reminded him of the kind that were lightly interspersed throughout the hotel. But, where as those were contrasting pieces that seemed added to the architechture later, these swirls and eveerything else were carved into the same wood and stone that their sections were built out of.

What eventually ended up making Chuck let out a barely audible 'wow' was the fireplace dimly adding a gliimmer to the rest of the cabin, getting him to notice how even things, like the small lounges chairs and tables, also had designes carved into the wood of them.

“this place was built with desires of life in mind.” A rather vague statement, but the soft tone of warmth was inescapable. Pairing with the wood and stone, blue and white banners and decor had almost a marble like look to them. Unique and abstract, light vs the dark wood.

Before the nearly eye level sinner could finish typing, Chuck suddenly realized that the two of them had never been acquanted before, and held out a hand before saying, "The name's Chuck, by the way."

“I’m assured you already know my name as Tempest, but good to be squinted.. Chuck” she tasted the name from her lips, cocking her head slightly to the side.

“as for prices,” Gailen chimed in, a rather nervous voice for such a lanky creature, “usually it ranges from hundreds to the thousands.. but all depends on where and how long you stay.. we have deals for new comers though?…”

Luckily, earlier in the day- although it felt strange to be proverbially borrowing money from himself, despite Charlie insisting that Chuck not worry about paying him back- he'd ended up with a few thousand souls, so he could rent a cabin, and still have money to play with.

Regardless, Chuck bounced a couple times on the tips of his toes as he said, "ooh deals... deals are fun..." he stopped for a moment to think critically about saying that deals, in hell, are fun. It also helped that Tempest and Gallen were both shooting him an amused look that said 'fun, huh?', making Chuck feel obliged to correct himself.

Tempest chuckled dryly, he was either really new to hell. Or hellborn. Either way, she shook her head with a small smile.

“deals.. as in price deals. We don’t dabble in that around here.. unless?”

Chuck smiled at the interaction between Gailen and Tempest as he said, "Oh, like a discount... Now I get it."

As he watched the two behind the desk subtly roll there eyes to each other, in response to what Chuck just said, he adds, "I should probably be fine, either way. As long as there's a really nice view of the night sky from inside."
