Actually wait on the topic of Lace being jealous of Shakra, I'm of the mind that like.
Okay, so Lace's jealous boils down to a fear of abandonment for not being "good enough". For good reason. But she isn't allowed to directly attack the other party that's "better than her" under observation, because in her head, they're the favored child and attacking them is basically scorning the authority figure's judgement.
Rather, I think she'd primarily express jealousy by being hyper competitive, trying to prove she's "better" in whatever way she can. Using any means to win. Regardless of the cost to herself.
But like, I also think Shakra would fuck with that. She fucking loves competition. She's basically only had Hornet willing to really compete with her, and Hornet's kinda busy and not always down. Lace on the other hand, Lace is starting the competitions! She's doing it constantly! Shakra is having the time of her life!
Shakra doesn't even seem upset about losing, and I think that'd piss off Lace so much more than anything else. Particularly if Hornet was prone to always checking on on Shakra after one of their contests, given that she's mortal. Lace would have conspiracy theories playing out in her head forming Shakra up as this big bad, and meanwhile Shakra's like "this is my good friend Lace, she really gets me :)"
Basically, I think Shakra's primary love language is competing with someone, and I also think this is how Lace expresses hatred. This goes poorly.
Also, for all of this Hornet is standing off to the side 100% knowing something's Wrong Here. She can pick up on the vibes for that. But like. She does NOT have the social skills to figure out what's exactly going on, nor how to fix it. Lace keeps starting things and insisting she wants to do them, and Shakra seems so happy with it??? But Also She Cannot Help The Looming Sense This Isn't Correct And Will End In A Minimum Of One Murders.
