The reason why I don't call him a rat person instead of a mouse person even if his name is Rat is because he is not a rat person. His father called him Rat is because it represents bravery and will that a typical mouse don't have.

He is a homeless teenager that has lost both of his parents who protected him and still misses them to this very day. His species is overhunted by bigger predatory species to the point where he is the only one in his bloodline with only a few. He is a curious mouse person who constantly searches for new opportunities in his life. He is mostly friendly though anxious when meeting new people.

Have you heard of the more unused and obscure phantasm boss character in touhou 9 called Elaine Prismriver. she is meant to be the vocalist of the band but got cut out because ZUN couldn't find a singer for the song and he thinks vocals doesn't fit in the game
