Someone needs to integrate immersive portals and create. Immersive portals and the create aeronautics dependency sable use similar stuff to the point that they conflict so I imagine it would be possible to make portals that can be moved around on contraptions while still functional. Though I remember portals get pushed by contraptions and then get kinda desynced from the destination portals so it would probably take a restructuring of immersive portals to make them usable properly while in motion. But honestly immersive portals could use some refurbishing to fix its jankiness on its own. It's a pretty old mod now and it always felt like a kind of unpolished tech demo type thing. Like when you move the portal back half a block so it's on the edge you end up like clipping a little when you walk through it and sometimes end up falling through the floor. It's my favorite mod of all time and it's sad how it gets forgotten outside of using it to make a trippy build for a YouTube short. It's always felt odd that it doesn't have compatibility with create despite the way trains can go through nether portals seeming like a perfect fit for immersive portals. Though I have no doubt revamping immersive portals to be less janky and work seamlessly with create would be a lot of work, especially while retaining the modularness of immersive portals, not to mention the challenge of making it usable in survival without losing the modularness (since a lot of the modularness of immersive portals comes from adjusting them with commands). Honestly the fact that so much of immersive portals's potential is locked behind commands is probably why it gets so little attention. Anyway, I'm just ranting but I just really like immersive portals and I really want it to someday be almost ubiquitous rather than something that's like incompatible with everything to the point you can't even add it to a modpack yourself.
Got an idea for a Create component: linked lever
Pretty much, you can select a frequency like with Redstone links, and the lever won't flip unless you power a transmitting link set to the same frequency. Maybe with a brass version you could select a number from 1-15 to add the requirement is a specific Redstone signal strength too.
I imagine it could be used as a sort of Confirm Activation switch and such, like, say you have a machine that has a lot of settings to input, and THEN you activate it, and it's REALLY BAD of you make a mistake in the settings or activate it early. Then you'd have the linked lever hooked up to the first Go switch so that you only start the machine when All the settings are done, The first lever is switched, and Then the second lever is switched, all in that order
Or even a minigame with a wall of them and you have to flip them in the right order
And then with things like the analog lever from Aeronautics you could have it on by default so the analog lever works as the throttle as normal, but then if you want to keep a setting the can just switch the linked lever off to reset to no power as if you pushed the analog lever to 15 (which also lets you skip going through all the higher power settings of the analog lever to get to 15)
Possibly my biggest issue with Create Mod (other than the fact that conveyor belts are lowkey worse than water streams for item transportation) is that steam engines are boring as hell for a mod so focused on multi-block structures.
The boiler system consists of a water tank with a heat source and steam engine "arms" attached, which is fine and it works but it's kind of basic for an endgame power generation setup. It doesn't really hit the same note as, say, the nuclear reactors present in most FTB packs. Hell, those mods even come with a multiblock turbine setup you can connect.
What I really wish I could build is a giant multiblock turbine. Make Blaze Burners produce steam if there's a water source on top of it, and let us build a turbine fan (similar concept as the existing windmills) that spins faster the more steam there is in a certain radius from the "turbine bearing" block, thus creating rotational force. Let us have giant plants dedicated to creating obscene amounts of power, as the gods intended.
I also want straight-up nuclear fission as the next step up in heating from blaze burners, but that might be outside the scope of the mod a little bit. Maybe an add-on.
Made some more stuff for crafting and made this very gooby hat
Downloading sodium was a very good idea

Doohickey #2.5: I really don't have a clever name for this one. it's just a mixer/basin with a blaze burner underneath. barely even a Doohickey, really.
I have built a steam engine that is entirely independent. Very proud of myself!
